Recap
Steph chucks Izzy out
Paul tells Lyn that she knows she wants him
Dylan loves Sky but he has to stand by Elle
Number 24
Sky thinks that they should tell Elle about their decision - they're about to go on a wonderful (metaphorical) journey together. But Dylan reminds her that Elle's illness is life-threatening. Sky nods, understanding that he has to be with Elle. Dylan tells her that he loves her (so much it hurts) but he has to be with Elle.
Number 22
Paul wants to dedicate a toast to his very latest scheme but Elle suddenly realises that it's a bit wrong to celebrate the fact she's lying about having a deadly illness. She loves Dylan but what they're doing to him is terrible. However she'll go through with the plot as she believes good will come out in the end - for everybody.
Dylan comes in, hoping Elle isn't overdoing it. She swiftly pretends she feels light-headed, so Dylan helps her sit down. Paul has a big cheesy grin on his face, radiating in the success of his plan, so far.
Number 32
Carmella is telling Izzy that Paul most definitely still has feelings for her, but he's very confused. Izzy says he's the only reason, apart from Max, that she still lives here. Oh, and she sticks around because of Carmella too, of course. Izzy thanks her for looking out for Paul.
Steph, Charlie, Lyn and Ozzie come in. Steph is telling Lyn that the farm is going okay, and Joe's lost a bit of weight. Steph can't believe it when she discovers Izzy, sitting in the kitchen. Carmella, Lyn and Ozzie decide to make themselves scarce. Steph demands to know what Izzy's still doing in the house - and why it's in such a mess. Izzy tells her that Max said she could stay.
IZZY: Didn't he tell you?
Steph is not one bit pleased.
Number 30
Carmella is round to chat to Toadie about Ned. Toadie makes a whole joke about Ned being a bit disruptive in class, which doesn't go down well with Carmella. She tells him that he's been weird ever since Toadie had that chat with him about his friendship with Carmella. Toadie tells her about Janae and Boyd's dressing up games, which explains Ned going off at her about the sanctity of marriage. Carmella points out that it would have nothing to do with Ned, even if she was guilty of that. She understands that setting boundaries on their friendship has hurt his feelings. Toadie thinks he just misses her. Carmella points out that Toadie must be mates with Ned, but Toadie says they're more mates by association. Carmella thinks that Toadie might be in need of a decent mate as much as Ned does.
Number 22
Dylan spots a champagne glass and tells Elle that she shouldn't be drinking booze. She quickly changes the conversation, saying she needs to take her medication. She walks weakly upstairs.
Dylan asks Paul what he's doing - feeding her champagne like that! Paul says Elle doesn't want to be surrounded by gloom and doom - she wants to lead a life that is as normal as possible. She needs her Dad and her 'strapping young boyfriend' by her side.
PAUL: Oh, mate, she loves you so much. And I really can't think of any other guy I'd want her to love.
Scarlet Bar
Max seems a bit under the weather but is cheered up by the sight of Steph and Charlie. That is until Steph demands to know why Izzy's still at number 32. He says he told her to stay. Steph thinks he caved; she kicked Izzy out and Max invited her back - thus he caved. Max points out that she has nowhere else and he won't kick her out onto the street (unlike in eppy 4772, when he did). Steph says she'll just have to go and do it herself - again.
Max doesn't think Lyn being sued is all down to Izzy. And, by the way, Lyn's been spending heaps of time with Paul recently. Lyn seems to be doing fine, without them freezing Izzy out too. Max says he's going to help Izzy, just as Steph is going to help Lyn. Steph doesn't look happy but she doesn't say anything more.
Number 32
Lyn comes over and Izzy tells her she doesn't know where Stax are - and she probably wouldn't tell her even if she did! Lyn asks if she realises the problems she's causing Max. Izzy thinks Lyn should stop being so nosy - it's like a compulsion she's got or something!
IZZY: And still sniffing around Paul, a woman of your age; it's really quite pathetic.
Lyn thinks the fact that Izzy won't admit is over with Paul is quite pathetic. Izzy thinks Paul has no uses for Lyn, as was clear when he made her take the fall for the baby belt. Lyn says he's made his feelings very clear since then. Izzy thinks she must've begged him, clung onto him, as she has nothing else he wants. Lyn tells her that she wasn't the one doing the clinging. Izzy pretends to laugh it off but then she looks a bit worried as Lyn gives her a satisfied smirk, then goes to leave.
IZZY: You're lying!
LYN: Am I?
Number 24
Sky tells Harold how hard it is not being with Dylan. Harold thinks Dyl's gesture of support to Elle is very noble, but he wonders if he's staying for the right reason. How will Elle feel when she finds out he's staying due to a sense of duty and not for love? The longer the lie lasts, the greater the betrayal.
Number 30
Yay, Steph is actually hanging out with Toadie (and when was the last time that happened?) Toadie tells Steph that she can hide out here from Izzy whenever she wants. Steph isn't hiding from her but she can't stand her lying and hysterics. She tells him she misses having Libby around to talk to and Toadie can sympathise. Steph thinks she's alienated almost everyone over the dobbing business and Toadie suddenly decides to get up and go to the kitchen. Steph doesn't understand - she thought everyone was close knit here, so why would someone dob her in? Toadie says everyone likes her. She goes on about having so many problems already without the noise pollution business, as Toadie hides out in the hallway. He tells her it's her right to be able to work on her bike. Steph is tempted to find out who did it. Toadie runs in and tells her that she can't find out...privacy issues and stuff. Steph reminds him she can be very persuasive. Toadie mentions the council official who deals with noise pollution by name, saying how scary he is, and Steph wants to know how he knows of him. Toadie tries to make something up but he's sprung - she knows it was him!
Toadie tries to defend himself against her wrath.
Ramsay Street
Toadie comes running and screaming out of his house, with Steph pushing Charlie's buggy in quick pursuit.
Number 22
Dylan and Elle walk outside. Dylan has been researching her illness but Elle wants to talk about other things. Dylan agrees - whatever makes her happy.
Scarlet Bar
Toadie runs in, panting, quickly followed by Steph.
TOADIE: Alright, alright, stop, please stop chasing me...that's cruelty to animals. Just let me die.
Steph asks why he did it - they've been friends for years (and he was even in love with her once upon a time). Steph asks why he didn't come over and tell her to stop it, face to face. He didn't want to admit he didn't like revving engines as it would dent his masculinity. Steph can't wait to tell everyone he was the culprit but Toadie pleads with her not to! Everyone can't find out that he has a nap in the afternoon, with the paper on his lap - that he's turning into Harold!
STEPH: What's wrong with sleeping at night like everyone else?
TOADIE (shrieking): Have you tried living with two newly-weds who are up all night studying? !!
Toadie's woes don't gain any sympathy from Steph - she hasn't had a good night's sleep in six months! She wants revenge! (Oh dear, this is like HoT madness, only now they've roped Steph into too!)
Number 22
Paul keeps trying to distract Lyn; she's found a good lawyer and discovered the people suing her have a very shady past. Paul is just about to pash her madly when Elle and Dylan arrive back. Dylan is going to leave, to let Elle rest, but she wants him to stay. Paul thinks that he should stay, since Elle feels fine. Elle and Dylan go off.
Lyn asks what's going and Paul tells her Elle's in with a fighting chance, but doesn't want to talk about it further. Lyn can't believe he's so flippant! Paul thought she would know him better, see through the act. He's hiding all the pain underneath; he admits that he doesn't even know if Elle will make it! Lyn pulls him into a hug and Paul smiles to himself at his own evil genius.
Scarlet Bar
Izzy spots Paul and tells him that Lyn has been making it obvious that there's more between her and Paul that just work. Izzy says it's pathetic and Paul just smiles, nodding enough so she realises that yes, there really is more going on. He decides to leave as he can't keep Lynnie waiting; she has a ravenous appetite, y'know. (Okay, too much information.)
He goes and Izzy looks ready to collapse. Carmella and Max come over and ask what the matter is. Izzy says she thought they were soulmates. Carmella thinks Paul's just confused and Izzy tells her that he's so confused that he's left her for Lyn Scully! Max is shocked.
Number 32
The next day and Steph doesn't believe a word Izzy says. Izzy points out how Lyn was spending lots of time with Paul when Steph was away but Steph doesn't want to hear her lies. Izzy tells her that she'll come to see that she's telling the truth.
Ramsay Street
Dylan and Elle run into Harold and Sky. Harold tells Elle how sorry he is about her illness. Sky volunteers to help her if there's anything she can do.
Dylan helps Harold take a box to his car which allows Harry to say that his gesture is admirable. It will take strength and honesty - things will only get tougher from now on.
Number 30's driveway
Steph peeks over the fence from number 32. She has a 20 dollar note, attached to a long piece of string, placed in the driveway. Toadie muses loudly about what type of idiot would lose 20 bucks, before tearing it off the end of the string. Steph yanks the string away but of course her plan fails spectacularly. Toadie informs her that it's the lamest prank ever. He, meanwhile, is the king of pranks. Steph needs to learn a lot from the dark side. He thanks her for the twenty bucks.
Number 22
Dylan is free until he has to go to nutrition camp (which is partly to help Elle). She'd rather they'd go away together, just the two of them. He agrees, after making sure she'll be alright. He suggests camping but Elle was thinking of a health spa. She wants to go now so he runs home to get packed.
Paul comes downstairs and Elle tells him that she's taking Dylan away. All the lying is really exhausting. Paul thinks it'll be good to get Dylan away from Sky for a while and tells her to use his credit card.
Elle decides to ask whether there's anything going on between him and 'Grandma' Lyn - she thought Izzy was bad but, Lyn... Paul doesn't take her digs at Lyn too kindly and informs her that she's in great shape. Elle is just ever so slightly grossed out about the whole thing.
Scarlet Bar
Yet another Stoadie™ scene. Toadie lends Steph some DVDs to help her out in the comedy department; Animal House, Caddyshack, Revenge of The Nerds...Toadie has decided to start with the masters. Steph thinks she already has a great sense of humour but Max pauses too long before agreeing, overenthusiastically. Steph can't believe he doesn't think she's funny.
Izzy comes in and starts on the subject of Lyn and Paul again. Steph would rather not talk about it at all; Lyn would never go there as she wouldn't lower herself that far. Max suggests that Steph talk to Lyn about it - it's important they get their facts straight. Steph can't believe Max is sticking up for his 'nutcase' sister again!
IZZY: I prefer unhinged.
Steph tells her new bestfriend Toadie to come with her - they've got movies to watch. Before they leave she thanks Max sarcastically for yet again standing up for her, his wife. Max lets out a long sigh.
Scarlet Bar
Izzy says good morning to Lyn and she tells her to go away (how nice people are to each other in this show!!). Izzy has something she needs to say - something that will make Lyn see Paul for the person he really is. Lyn thinks she knows Paul better than Izzy ever did. So Izzy brings out the big guns:
IZZY: Did he ever tell you he's a murderer?
Lyn turns around - that got her attention.
IZZY: Does the name 'Gus Clearly' ring a bell?
