The Scarlet Bar
Lyn tells Izzy she feels sorry for her but says she has to realise that Paul doesn't love her anymore. Izzy tells Lyn to ask Paul about Gus and says whilst she's at it she should ask him about destroying the evidence. Lyn leaves and Izzy seems very pleased with herself.
No 28
Karl arrives wearing his Oodles shirt and carrying his guitar. He turns the outside light off and says that judging by the graveyard of moths around it, it must have been on all night. Katya apologises to Susan and says she thinks she left the light on. Susan is so over the light saving but Scrooge McKennedy informs Katya that every little bit helps. Karl asks Susan what she got Oscar for his birthday. She tells him she got books and Karl says he got the same thing. Katya leaves and Karl darts over to the sink as she has left the tap dripping. Susan tells Katya to ignore Karl but Katya agrees that everybody has to do their bit for the environment. When Katya leaves Karl asks Susan what happened with Sky. Susan says she has lied to a frightened girl who thought she could trust her. Karl assures her she did the right thing and kisses her. As they break apart Susan morphs into Izzy and Karl is visibly disturbed by the image of her in his head. When Susan asks if he's ok, Karl hastily tells her they mustn't be late for Oscar's birthday party.
Ramsay Street
Steph and Max are on their way to the birthday party with Charlie. Katya meets them and she and Max exchange Tibetan pleasantries. However it seems Max hasn't quite got the hang of it yet and Steph laughs at his obvious mistake. Their attentions turn to Cameron who is coming out of No 22. Max tells Katya she should go and talk to him, and whilst she's at it she should talk to Toadie too as they were good mates. Katya agrees and walks over to No 22.
As Katya and Cam greet each other, Steph tells Max he is such a good person full of compassion. So much so that he makes her go warm and gooey on the inside. Max thinks she should keep that information to herself. I agree. He asks her if her thing for care and compassion extends to easing up on Izzy. The romantic moment is ruined and Steph walks off.
No 26
Oscar is looking mega trendy in his jeans and little zip up top. Karl and Susan are showing him the books they have brought. Max calls Susan 'Sue'. Karl is still wearing his Oodles top.
Lyn and Steph are in the kitchen preparing some food for the party. Lyn is distracted and Steph asks if she's ok. She's says she is.
Paul arrives with Cam. Nobody is pleased to see him and Karl stares at him sternly. Paul gives Oscar a huge present and given that he hasn't wrapped it up, I can tell you it's one of those little buggy cars with the cool little doors that open.
STEPH: What the hell is he doing here?
Lyn asks Max to get Paul a drink and she returns to the kitchen, followed by Steph. Max asks Paul and Cam what they'd like to drink. They have a choice of Red, Orange, Yellow or Blue lemonade. They opt for the blue.
Back in the kitchen and Steph is not happy. She asks Lyn if Paul seriously expects to join in with Oscars birthday. Lyn says Paul is just being friendly. Steph tells Lyn that Paul is ruining her life and asks what the hell he's doing here.
No 30
Ned is wrapping a present for Oscar. Toadie doesn't see the point given that Oscar is like two. Ned informs him that Oscar is three but Toadie doesn't care. He wants Ned to head in and out of the party so that they can get down to some HoT action. But Ned says he can't as he and Karl are singing.
Toadie answers the door to Katya. Toadie asks what he can do for her and she says she just wanted to thank him for all his recent help and kindness. Toadie is bit taken back and Katya says if he want to shoot some pool, go swimming or generally hang out then that would be nice - as friends. Toadie agrees it would be nice and Katya leaves. Ned says Katya doesn't know what she wants - apart from every dude on the street. Toadie still wants Ned to skip Oscars birthday party but he reminds him that he and Karl are singing. Then after the party he is watching 'Into The Woods' - a musical by Sondheim.
No 26
Steph and Lyn are still in the kitchen and Steph is still disapproving of Paul at the top of her voice. Everyone else sits in the lounge room awkwardly and Oscar is playing with his new car. Steph can't believe Paul has come into the house he is trying to destroy and tells Lyn she is going to chuck him out. She enters the lounge and suggests to Paul that he was just leaving. Paul looks like he can't be bothered to fight and gets up to leave. Toadie and Ned arrive and Lyn tells Paul she's sorry but maybe it would be best if he left. Paul tells her that's fine and says he has a surprise for her later. Susan looks at him with venom as Toadie and Ned make excuses to leave.
Steph asks Lyn how she could possibly let Paul into the house but Lyn tells her he's not the enemy. Steph can't believe what she's hearing and says it's no wonder that Izzy had some weird idea that Paul and Lyn are having an affair. Lyn shoots a look to Susan and Steph says that Paul has got her completely fooled. Lyn says she refuses to discuss the issue anymore until Steph calms down. Steph leaves and takes Max with her. Susan and Karl try to lighten the mood for Oscar and Susan tells him she can take his car outside with Karl.
Susan joins Lyn in the kitchen and asks if there's something Lyn ought to tell her.
During the break Lyn has taken the time to tell Susan about her affair with Paul. There's something weird about Susan slagging off Paul in the house where he grew up. Susan thinks getting involved with Paul could be dangerous. However Lyn insists that Paul is a good man deep down and says she has seen a side of him that Isabelle would never see in a million years. Susan remembers Lil. Yes I repeat, Susan remembers Lil. She asks if Lyn could cope if Paul broke her heart like he broke Lils. Lyn says she knows there are things in Pauls past that he'll never be proud of but says there's nothing unforgivable - he's not a monster. Susan says she's worried but Lyn insists she's in control and that saving Paul's soul wont be such a hard job.
No 32
Steph thinks Lyn is going through a mid-life crisis. Why else would she let Paul ruin her? Max thinks Paul is capable of anything; after all he broke Izzys heart. Steph thinks Izzy deserved it and says Max can't compare his lying, deceitful, manipulative sister to her mother. Steph gives Charlie to Max and says she is going out for some air.
Max walks into the kitchen where Izzy and Katya are sat, having obviously heard the whole conversation.
No 22
Paul has been flicking through the Yellow Pages and tells Cam he has organised something for Oscar. Cam tells Paul he knows he likes to be popular and splash around his money but now is not the time. Elle needs them now. Paul tells Cam that Elle will be fine but Cam says he doesn't know that. He says he is going to call Gail. Paul moves himself quicker then he has in a long time to stop Cam from getting to the phone. Cam says that Gail has to know about Elle and he doesn't know why she hasn't been told already. Paul tells him that Elle wants to keep it quiet, besides Gail has been through enough lately. Paul tells Cam they have to respect Elle's wishes and he says he just wants to make Elle happy. He knows he hasn't been a conventional Dad but he's trying.
CAM: This is my sister. She's my best friend.
No 30
Toadie and Ned are watching 'Into The Woods' which has inherited some incidental music from the 80s. Steph arrives and wants to just hang out with some uncomplicated guys who don't talk back. Ned leaves and Steph is alarmed to see Toadie watching this 'girl trash' She informs him the footie is on and asks if he has any beer.
No 32
Whilst Izzy plays with Charlie, Katya tells Max about the Tibetan workshop taking place soon. It's for a weekend and Katya leaves the leaflet with Max in case he's interested. Izzy teases Max and says a weekend away with an exotic lady would be a treat. Max reminds her whose house she's in and says she's very close to getting herself chucked out.
No 22
Lyn arrives and Paul asks how the party is going. Lyn says Susan and Karl and looking after everything.
LYN: School teacher and kids entertainer slash doctor. They should rent themselves out.
Very funny. Paul tells Lyn if their 'little romance' is making things difficult then she should just say so. Lyn doesn't beat around the bush and asks him if he killed Gus. Paul is shocked, embarrassed, surprised, many things - none of which are really readable. He asks why she'd think such a thing. She tells him Izzy swear it's true. Paul tells her Izzy is unstable and before Lyn can fight back there's a noise, which Paul informs her is her surprise. He takes her outside where they find.....
Ramsay Street
.....lots of little donkeys and many kids. Worryingly Oscar seems to be a lone and there's no sign of Susan or Karl. Lyn forgets all about Gus and is thrilled with Paul's present. Paul hopes over to Oscar and helps lead him around Ramsay Street.
No 32
Toadie is trying to find out what's wrong with Steph but she's not giving anything anyway. She finally says it's just everything; Paul and Lyn, Max and Izzy. She says she's grateful that she can just hang out with him. Toadie thinks Steph should let go a little bit. If she keeps on the way she's going she'll get no results and just a heart attack. Steph isn't sure and she and Toadie fight over whether they should watch the musical or the footie.
Ramsay Street
Karl, Susan and Ned come out to see the fun. Karl's in a strop because the donkeys were more popular than his singing!! Ned thinks it looks like fun and goes to join Oscar. Izzy emerges from No 32 and gets into her car. She looks over at Karl and smiles. Karl looks a bit disturbed and turns his attentions to Susan. As they chat about the donkeys Izzy watches them from her car.
Paul and Oscar are playing together. Lyn looks at them sweetly and then glances at Izzy. It seems she's made up her mind who to believe and gives her full attention back to Paul and Oscar.
No 32
Steph comes in ranting about the donkeys and how Paul has once again attempted to buy Oscar. Max comments that he thought he was the one who had the anger problem. Max thinks they should go through Stephs 'hate' list. So far they have Paul, Izzy, Lyn, himself .... Is there anyone else? Steph says Toadie for the noise complaint and insists she will get him back for that. Steph says she's sorry for taking it out on him and Max says it's ok, he just wishes it was more occasional. They kiss and hug and then Steph sees then leaflet for the workshop. Steph thinks he should go as he deserves a break at doing something he enjoys. Besides he'd be helping Katya. Max agrees that he will go.
The Scarlet Bar
Izzy is serving Paul and trying to make conversation but he's not really interested. She says she loves him and asks what he's doing with Lyn. Paul beckons her to the office and Izzys hopes are raised. He suggests she get out a pen and paper, as he will say this only once.
PAUL: I now despise your devotion to me. You see the thing about Lyn is I don't satisfy her. What a challenge.
IZZY: Is that all I ever was to you? A challenge?
PAUL: Oh don't worry. As soon as the thrill's gone with Lyn I'll be getting rid of her too just like I did with you.
Before leaving Paul has one last thing to say to Izzy. He tells her she of all people should know what he's capable of, so for future reference she should think twice before blabbing stories from his past.
PAUL: Or so help me, you'll end up just like Gus.
