Susan and Karl are relieved that Libby is on the mend.
Lance gives Steph an expensive necklace. She says she doesn't want to accept it - it would give him the wrong impression.
Lance says it's not a move or anything, it's just friends thing - he doesn't think of her in that way. Steph says it's still too generous, so Lance says he'll give it to a girl at Uni that he likes. He leaves rather awkwardly.
At the bar, Lance admits to Toadie that things aren't going as planned. But he can't run out - Steph is on crutches and will need a lift home.
Karl is worried about the medical hearing and reminds Susan not to tell Libby about it.

JOE: Nice one, girl friend!
Joe asks Lyn to shorten his trousers on the machine but Flick interjects that she'll do it. Lyn and Joe are incredulous!
Steph comes in and says that dinner was a disaster - this time Lance made a move. Joe laughs but Steph is upset, she's fed up of guys wanting more than friendship - maybe it's not possible to have a platonic friendship with the opposite sex.
LYN: You're friends with Drew.
FLICK: Maybe he'll try it on next!
Lance is sulking about Steph and Toadie is trying to cheer him up. It's not working though and he goes off to bed.
Flick is taking up Joe's trousers by hand. Joe comes out in his pyjamas and sits down with her to watch the late night movie. He tells her not to tell Lyn that they're staying up late(!)
No.30, the following morning
Steph comes round to see Lance. She tells him that they have to talk, but Lance doesn't want to. He says he's cool with everything and tells her he's within his rights to be bitter and cynical! He does agree to meet up with her later to go and visit Libby. Then he goes out, shutting the door behind him.
STEPH: Why me?
Lou is on the phone to Taiwan to complain about the octopuses but they keep pretending that they can't speak English(!) Drew laughs at him.
Steph comes in and asks Drew if she can hang out with him. She tells him about Lance and Toadie both having crushes on her. Drew starts laughing and calls her a heartbreaker. He tells her she's smart, funny and cute as a button - what guy could resist her. He asks her what's wrong with Lance. She says he's younger than her and there's no chemistry between them. Drew goes to make her a coffee, but a Look has come into Steph's eyes.
Madge is refusing to help Lou with his sewing. Paul, Tad and Flick have no choice but to go off to school.
Lyn is redoing Flick's work on Joe's trousers, since it wasn't very good. She opens her sewing maching and sees at once that it isn't hers.
Lou opens Madge's machine to find green cloth stuck in it. Madge sees immediately that it isn't her machine.

Drew father's asks Drew if he's given any thought to his offer of a partnership with him in Oakie. But Drew says he'll have to discuss it with Libby and it'll be ages before she's back on her feet anyway. Ron says Drew has got it all ahead of him - marriage followed by the patter of tiny feet.
Toadie is trying to play Lance's digeridoo when Steph comes in. She mocks his playing. Lance isn't there to go to the hospital with her and Steph is cross. Toadie says that Lance will bounce back. They joke about.
Outside the Coffee Shop
Lou is trying to borrow a sewing machine, but Susan doesn't have one.
Lyn invites Susan to join her for lunch, but she's waiting for Karl. Susan apologises for her harsh words the other day but Lyn tells her not to mention it.
Karl comes up and tells Susan that he's been exonerated by the Medical Board - he showed Glenda all due care. But the court case is still going to go ahead.
Tad and Paul are teasing Michelle about the Year 8 dance. Flick comes up and tells them they'd better sort out the sewing machines quick.
Libby's Hospital Room

Tad and Paul are trying to mend the sewing machine. They mange to get the stuck fabric out then go to swap the machines back. But Madge comes out at that moment and says she wants an explanation!
Garden of the Scullys
Michelle tells Joe that she doesn't want the dog to go. She also tells him that she's really sorry about the tuck shop thing. Joe reminisces that he wasn't so well-behaved when he was young either. But his old man was a good bloke. Michelle says that Joe is OK too!
Susan tells Karl that they want another ultrasound for Libby. Karl admits that things aren't too good with Libby - there's a complication.
