Karl tells Susan that the court case will still go ahead
Steph tells Toadie that Lance has been acting seriously weird since his revelation and wonders why he couldn't have taken her rejection as well as he did
Karl tells Susan that Libby has had some complications
Erinsborough and District Hospital
Susan tells Karl that the doctor can't be sure, no one can. Karl says in all probability the doctor is right. Susan wonders how they're going to tell Libby and then there's Drew…It's about both of them. Drew appears and notices immediately that something's up. He asks what's happened.
Joel greets Dee. She tells him that Toadie and Lance dropped in to see Libby and revealed that Joel once had a whopping great crush on Libby. Joel says it's all exaggeration. He moves onto the subject of Bernie and hopes he never turns out like him. She tells him he's nothing like Bernie, not in the ways that matter. He remarks he likes her perfume and wonders if she'd like some for her upcoming birthday. Dee tells him it comes from Hungary and is really hard to find, but Joel vows to track it down.
Lance and Toadie arrive back, hungry, and Toadie suggests they go to the Scully's, but Lance says he'll go and get some takeaway. Once he's gone Joel asks what's up with him – Toadie says ‘that's what becomes of the broken hearted'.

Susan and Karl brush over earlier, holding back the news. Drew is still optimistic about Libby's condition, offering to buy them a drink. Once he's gone they sigh and look at each other.
Tess gets off the phone. Toadie is standing around, looking at things. She tells him it was Brendan's mother – the funeral's all organised and they're all going back to his mother's place. Toadie offers to drive her to the funeral and she thanks him, but says she'll be fine on her own.
Steph is down at the pub with Joel and Dee. Joel tells her that a couple of her admirers are coming along – Toadie and Lance. Dee asks why she's breaking all these hearts and Steph says that no one's happy just being friends anymore. It's a problem she can do without. Steph resents Joel's lack of sensitivity. Dee tells her just to treat the boys as she always has. Steph admits she still wants them as her mates. The boys appear and Steph looks at Lance but he won't look at her. They talk about Tess but it's clear Lance is only thinking about Steph and he tries to excuse himself but Steph tells him to stay and he relents.
Steph can still thrash everyone at pool despite her sore leg. Steph suggests she and Lance now play Joel and Toadie. Lance asks Toadie if he's having fun – Lance is having real trouble around Steph. Toadie doesn't know what to do either but if he can hack it, so can Lance. Lance notices how sad she seems and wishes he could go and give her a hug but Toadie doesn't think that would help. Lance thinks playing games isn't either and he's had enough. He makes excuses about having to be up early for work, which everyone sees right through. He mentions Steph's ankle, thinking that she'll want a break too. They go to leave and Joel suggests they bring back number 30's poker night tomorrow night.
Karl's on the phone and Susan notices he's flustered. It was Medical Indemnity – they want him to settle out of court. Susan asks if they think he's going to lose but Karl says they think the adverse publicity during the trial will affect him whatever the outcome. Susan thinks he doesn't have to take their advice – settling it is like an admission of guilt. Karl doesn't think he can prepare a case with things with Libby the way they are – maybe it's better to get it over and done with.
Steph is over to see Tess. Tess tells her everyone's been great to her, then admits she was going to move back with Brendan as she was so sure he'd changed. He was really trying and he had the one lapse. Steph offers herself as someone to talk to if she wants to talk, after Tess thinks she's the last person who'd want to hear about Brendan. Tess admits it's good to see her and wonders if people will blame her for this. Steph thinks they'll blame Brendan. To try and mend things between them Tess invites her along to the shops – she has to get something for the funeral. Steph agrees.
As Joel says goodbye to Dee, Steph appears. Dee asks if she's had any more nightmares but Steph slept like a log. Steph thanks Joel for last night and Joel says poker night is all go. Lance is a problem Steph thinks, and hopes things can get back to normal. Joel mentions the perfume but Steph is no good with the ‘real girly stuff'.

Libby has just had a shower and Dee helps her back to bed. Karl, Susan and Drew arrive. Susan's forgotten her thesaurus and blames Karl for it. When Dee has gone Libby says that everyone's been so good. Even so she can't wait to get out of there –sooner they get back to normal the better. Karl and Susan look suitably worried.
Tess and Steph have coffee. Tess has an outfit. Steph suggests they drop in on Libby on the way back but Tess doesn't think it's a good idea. They stumble upon Joel (everyone knows by now that if there's an excursion to the mall at least two separate Ramsay Street parties have to be there at the same time). He's looking for the perfume and asks them to help him out.
Lance is home and Toadie reminds him about the poker, but Lance isn't up to it. Toadie wonders if he's waiting for Steph to crack – he has no shame. Lance says that he has so much shame that he'd be right off the scale on a Shame-o-meter. Toadie says if he can get over her then Lance can. He asks why Lance likes her so much - Toadie thinks that it's because she likes them for who they are. Now the question is if Lance wants to save his friendship with her.
Joel has been so many places and no one has heard of it. Steph suggests he could go to other malls. Tess says that there is a website that gives ingredients for perfumes and he could make his own. Joel is determined, so says he'll have a go.
Toadie comes in with Dee to see Lance putting out tons of food. Joel comes in and asks Dee if she's Sister Bliss (Is he a Faithless fan perchance?) – her taxi awaits. Dee says he doesn't have to go to so much trouble to find the perfume, but Joel wants to. They leave and Steph arrives. Toadie goes to see her while Lance stands in the kitchen, looking a bit nervous.
Karl is making dinner - they both don't have an appetite. Karl tells her he's phoned the MRPS and told them to make an offer to Maurie. He's not happy about caving in but doesn't want to be dragged through the mud. Susan suggests that maybe a new crusade is what Libby needs but he disagrees. He's damned if he does, damned is he doesn't. They'll think he's guilty if he does give Maurie the money, but then, if he doesn't, Maurie will make it seem like he's guilty anyway.
