Erinsborough Hospital
Gino is being wheeled through on a trolley. The paramedic gives Remi the update on his obs. Remi directs them to a room as Karl and Susan watch. Susan worries about if the worse happens, Karl doesn't want to go down that route. They wonder where Terese is. Susan rings Paul and tells him about the gas leak at Eirini Rising. Gino is the only casualty, everyone else is fine. Susan tells him that they can't contact Terese. Paul hasn't heard from her and promises to contact them if he hears from her. He rings off and heads out of the room.
No.32
Nicolette is covering Byron's eyes as they watch a zombie horror movie on the TV. He claims to have enjoyed it as the others look sceptical! Holly wasn't so impressed that Sadie was commenting about the makeup, Sadie defends herself. Byron wants to know why all these movies are on the TV, Nicolette reminds him it's Halloween the next day. Sadie suggests a party, but Byron isn't so keen. Sadie wants to try out some make- up techniques and she reminds him what's happened with her family lately. Holly wants to do the party. Byron and Nicolette are working so Sadie suggests doing the party earlier, ‘Sun- up Spooktacular'. Byron wants to invite Vera to help sort things out.
No.22
It's now the next day. Paul is banging on the front door as Terese is asleep outside on the lounger. She wakes up groggily and grumpily opens the door. Paul comes inside and realises she has had a few drinks. She denies it, he tells her about the gas leak and people have tried to contact her.
TERESE: I need to go to the hospital.
PAUL: You need to sober up.
TERESE: I've not been drinking.
PAUL: Stop lying to me!
He tells her in no uncertain terms she needs to sort herself out before they can head out. She heads upstairs.
The Waterhole
Aaron brings Cara's drink over and jokes about her showing interest in men! She is happily married to Remi, she is looking at a website for US donors.
CARA: I don't remember it feeling so impersonal last time.
That thought crossed Aaron and David's minds when they looked into it. Cara is surprised at this. He explains Nicolette offered and it went ahead quickly.
AARON: We've had our bumps, but things turned out the way they were meant to.
Things have been difficult at times with Nicolette, but Aaron is glad they've got each other.
Karl tells Holly that Gino is in a critical condition. Susan is with him, so Holly has given Karl Susan's meds, cardi and a charger. Aaron hands a bag to Karl as well. Holly invites them to the Halloween party and asks if The Waterhole have any leftovers. Aaron goes to get some, Karl is surprised Vera is coming.
HOLLY: Hopefully she just hits the punch and keeps to herself.
Karl is worried about Vera as she has a lot of wine bottles in her recycling bin! Karl heads off.
Erinsborough Hospital
Karl and Susan are waiting when Terese arrives. They demand an explanation for where she's been. She apologises and explains she had some sleeping tablets so didn't hear their phone calls. Paul found the spare key and found Terese fast asleep. Remi comes to tell them that they're allowed to see Gino. It will be a short visit though as he's stable but worn out. Susan, Karl and Terese head in to the room.
GINO: Did I catch a handsome Firey's eye while doing my dying swan act?
SUSAN: You were a hero.
No one was hurt and the residents managed to exit their apartments. They've now returned to them. Gino wants to know why the gas leak happened. The Fire Department reported that a car reversed into the gas meter which led to the gas leak. Terese is disgusted that a coward did this and apologises. They will investigate this. Gino winces in pain, Karl calls for Remi as the monitor goes off. Remi declares a code blue situation and needs the crash cart. She clears the room. Susan, Karl, Terese and Paul look in concerned.
No.32
The house has been decorated for the Halloween party. Sadie and Byron are Anthony and Cleopatra. Sadie is admiring the costumes. Byron admits she managed to put this party together so quickly. Nicolette admires Sam who is dressed as Red Riding Hood. Holly is a cheerleader. Holly thinks Aaron and Cara haven't dressed up, they've dressed as the other person!
BYRON: You're supposed to dress up Nic.
Nicolette is dressed as a witch and shoots Byron a dirty look! Krista arrives and is dressed as the devil. Rhett has been invited by Nicolette and is Dracula. Aaron is looking a bit uncomfortable, so Krista takes Rhett off for a drink. Nicolette thought things were ok. Aaron explains that Rhett has given different stories about being at the open house to Aaron and Byron. Nicolette thinks it's ok to not be completely honest. If she'd known the situation she wouldn't have invited Rhett.
NICOLETTE: Say the word and I'll take him out in one fell swoop.
AARON: Go on then.
Erinsborough Hospital
Karl is reassuring the others that Gino will be ok. Remi comes out of the room and lets them know that Gino suffered a heart attack. He's now resting, it was a mild one. She heads back to the room. Terese goes to get coffees, but refuses help from Paul.
No.32
Krista notes that Vera is being a ‘thirsty pumpkin'. Sadie gets Byron to admit the party was good rather than bad. He also thinks it worked inviting Vera.
BYRON: She's not too scary when she's having a good time.
Cara has told Aaron that Felix put forward the idea of being their donor. Cara brushes it off. Aaron points out that they found the donor register impersonal. The rest of the family wasn't keen on Felix being the donor. Cara says she feels the same but is thinking about other avenues to consider. She's not sure what avenue they will take.
Aaron pours Rhett a drink, Rhett asks him out.
AARON: Such a shame that you can't keep your story straight.
Erinsborough Hospital
Susan tells Gino that he gave them a fright. He appreciates the concern but wants them to rest at home. Susan and Karl head out of the room. Terese apologises for not answering Gino's calls. Gino plans to use this story for his one man show!
Susan asks Paul why he went to No.22. Paul guessed Terese would be there. Susan asks Karl if a sleeping pill can leave someone knocked out.
KARL: Everyone reacts differently to different doses.
Terese comes out of the room and advises Susan and Karl to go home and get some rest. Terese will help sort things out and find out how this happened. She apologises again for not hearing her phone ringing and promises to not take sleeping pills.
No.32
The Halloween party is carrying on and we see snapshots of the guests. Rhett, Sam and Krista are setting up games and voting for best costumes. Sadie brings Holly a drink to toast the fact that she knows the outcome of the charges. Holly knows she is ‘insanely lucky' but doesn't feel like drinking alcohol right now. She's felt like this since the siege and explains about her anxiety and panicking. She hasn't really slept and had night terrors.
HOLLY: I'm really struggling.
Holly tells Sadie how much Felix has helped her. Sadie promises to help and support her and thanks for opening up. They share a hug.
Byron walks through an unknown room in the house and thanks Rhett for turning up to the party. Apparently, Vera has been singing Rhett's praises. Byron brings a drink to Nicolette. Nicolette admits to feeling relaxed now she doesn't have to worry about repaying a loan. Byron is stilled annoyed with Vic. Nicolette points out they have to put up with Jane and Vic being back together.
BYRON: It won't last.
Nicolette doesn't admit to supporting her parents' reunion but is coming to terms with it. Also, things are going well with Isla's adoption. Byron doesn't remember it always being so smooth!
NICOLETTE: Like most things, there is always a healthy resolution. We just needed to talk it through.
Byron looks sceptical. Cara has been standing nearby and looks thoughtful.
Erinsborough Hospital
Paul brings Terese a coffee.
PAUL: How long have you been drinking?
TERESE: Last night was the first time.
Paul knows she's lying, and she's already lied to Paul, Karl and Susan. He tells her he lied to Karl and Susan to protect her. He wants her honesty as he feels she owes him that. She wants a lift to go to collect her car from home and see what the damage is at Eirini Rising.
No.30
Remi is reading the magazine on the couch when Cara arrives home. Remi has had a long night and day as they share a kiss.
REMI: Why do I feel like I just kissed Aaron?
They laugh about it as Cara goes to make a cuppa. Cara tells Remi that she found out how Aaron, David and Nicolette became Isla's parents. Cara is now considering the option of a known donor. She starts to talk about it then realises Remi has fallen asleep.
No.32 Backyard
Aaron and Nicolette have entered the doughnut competition. Nicolette is the winner. Sam gets a sweets cauldron as the best costume prize. A blindfolded Krista tries to put the eyepatch on the ghost but tries to put it on Holly instead.
Holly tells the others about Vera's empty bottles being in the recycling bin. Vera comes over and has a way to carry on the party.
VERA: I should move in.
The others aren't impressed at this idea!
Ramsay Street
Paul and Terese arrive back. Paul points out she'll have to talk to him at some point. She needs to go to work then sees a scrape on the back of her car in the driveway. When Paul questions her she can't remember when she headed back from work. She waited for the linen delivery, so it was a late delivery.
TERESE: If I smashed into the gas meter, I'd remember.
PAUL: Unless you'd been drinking?
Terese refuses to entertain the idea. Paul points out that she was there about the time it happened, and her car has ‘backed into something'. Terese doesn't recall any of it.
PAUL: It was you. You did it.
No.32
Nicolette has her scythe around Byron's head and is forcing him to agree to Vera not being a housemate. Byron points out they're going to have to try and explain this to Vera.
NICOLETTE: We're gonna have to be brutal!
Byron calls Vera over. He tells her he likes Vera.
BYRON: You've got your space, we've got ours.
He thinks that them living in the same house will alter things for them, Vera isn't convinced.
NICOLETTE: Vera, I am sorry, but you cannot move in here.
VERA: I don't have anywhere to go. Rhett sold my house.
Vera is crestfallen. Rhett has joined them and explains that he valued No.32 and No.34. No.34 was just what his client was looking for. Vera is upset and heads off. Nicolette isn't impressed as Byron follows Vera.
Aaron has overheard their chat. He realises the reason Rhett was at the open house was to cover for Vera. Rhett couldn't say anything, Aaron apologises for being out of line.
AARON: I've had some dishonesty around me and any lie is a red flag.
Aaron explains about David passing away and not being in the right head space. Rhett is supportive and is interested in friendship as well as potential boyfriend. They agree to this and clink beers.
No.22
Terese is telling Paul that Eirini Rising is what she has left. She realises what the consequences would be if everyone found out what had happened.
TERESE: The business won't survive.
PAUL: Probably not.
Terese realises Gino could have died. Paul lets her know that Remi has told them that Gino will be ok. Terese realises Gino won't forgive her for doing this.
PAUL: Nobody is gonna know the truth.
TERESE: The evidence is out there. I can't hide it!
Paul has decided to swap the cars. Terese can claim her car was being serviced. Paul will get the tail light fixed by a discreet mechanic. She can't tell anyone what happened then nobody will connect her to the incident. Terese agrees to this.
