No 30
Remi joins Cara on the sofa, and they take the opportunity to talk about Felix while the boys are in their rooms playing computer games.
CARA: I mean, what the...?
REMI: Did Felix know what was coming out of his mouth?
CARA: How do you go from 'hey, thanks for the feed' to 'by the way, do you want some sperm?'
REMI: And again, because the first time was so drama- free (!)
CARA: On no planet was that appropriate for him to say.
REMI: It was a lovely dinner. And it's great that JJ and Dex felt comfortable, but -
CARA: Exactly. That is a baby step. A step to us maybe having a relationship with each other. Not a baby step to us having another kid together!
REMI: Obviously the answer is no!
CARA: Obviously.
REMI: And he was so casual about it!
CARA: Ugh.
REMI: Unless there's some chance that he was joking.
CARA: I dunno. Right now, I want to forget the whole thing even happened.
They take a sip of the wine that Felix brought with him.
CARA: That's good wine, though.
REMI: It's really good wine.
CARA: Damn it.
The Waterhole
Felix is telling Holly about his unexpected dinner with the Varga- Murphys.
HOLLY: And Cara and Remi didn't crack it? Cos you're, like, their mortal enemy.
FELIX: Yeah. A little bit iffy at first, but seemed pretty cool by the end of it.
Andrew has come in in the meantime and overheard some of this; he's shocked to learn that Felix has been having dinner with Cara, Remi and the kids. Holly has to go as her court case is up tomorrow - she needs to raid Susan's wardrobe to find something respectable to wear!
ANDREW: Good luck, Holly.
HOLLY: Thanks. Think I'm gonna need it.
FELIX: Just breathe through it. You've got this.
HOLLY: Hope 'this' isn't ten years. But yeah. I'll do the breathing thing.
As Holly leaves, Felix goes to sit with Andrew and asks how his first shift back at work went. He says it went well, and it felt like he hadn't been away. Andrew then asks for more info on the dinner with the Varga- Murphys.
FELIX: Well, it ended on an unexpected note. Not bad, just unexpected.
The 82
Remi and Dex are walking down Power Road. Dex seems pleased with the results of his plan to ask Felix to dinner.
DEX: Thought the whole thing might backfire. But JJ actually seemed to like having Felix there, and you and Mum didn't throw anything at him.
Keeping quiet about Felix's offer, Remi wishes Dex good luck on his first day of work at Grease Monkeys. Felix himself has appeared out of the tram, on his way to the woodwork session at Eirini Rising, and briefly chats to Dex before Remi sends Dex on his way with a hug.
FELIX: He's a good kid, isn't he?
REMI: Yeah, he is.
FELIX: Have you and Cara had the chance to chat about my, umm, proposition?
REMI (awkward): Yeah, we did.
FELIX: ...
REMI: I'm realising now you're serious!
FELIX: I was.
REMI (awkwardly): Oh.
FELIX: I overstepped.
REMI: Oh. Yeah. A bit.
FELIX: It was just an offhand remark.
REMI: I mean, an offhand remark is 'hey, nice sofa' - not 'hey, do you want a sperm donor?'
FELIX: Well, it was a no- strings- attached offer.
REMI: Oh, Felix. It's taken a lot for us to let you back into our lives. You know, I saw you wanted to better yourself, so I was an advocate, but... An offer like that, no matter the motives... did you really think we'd go for it?
FELIX (awkwardly): Nah.
REMI (awkwardly): Yeah.
Felix rushes off to Eirini Rising. But unbeknownst to Remi, Dex has witnessed the conversation between them from a distance, and is wondering what it was about...
Eirini Rising
The courtyard is full of residents awaiting the woodwork class. There seems to have been some kind of mix- up, because Cara has arrived to be the tutor. Karl is having a go with her drill! (Remember what happened last time you were let loose with a drill, Karl!) She tells him she's glad to be doing something creative. Gino arrives on the scene and is apparently invigorated by the sight of the bustling courtyard.
GINO: Ah, Camelot! Takes me back to the Erinsborough Amateur Players. There was always some sort of crisis going on, requiring me to help out with sets...
JJ, who is on duty and helping out, whispers to Cara that Gino might be her star pupil. Cara has got a text from Remi, saying, 'I just saw Felix - he was serious!' JJ asks if everything's okay; Cara says it is, and doesn't mention Felix's offer.
Susan turns up, and tells Karl that they've double- booked woodwork tutors - Terese has organised a second one, despite Susan having told her that she'd already asked Cara. Cara comes over; Karl suggests they could split the class between the two tutors, and she agrees they can work it out.
CARA: Who's the other teacher?
FELIX (appearing from nowhere): Reporting for duty!
JJ manages a bit of a smile for Felix, but Cara, Susan and Karl look awkward...
Lassiter's Complex
Paul is with Leo when he spots Terese, and calls out to her. Paul asks how her trip to Adelaide was; she reports that she had a wonderful time.
PAUL: And Piper and Tyler, how were they?
TERESE: Err, they're really well. Actually, it was good timing with their renovation coming up. I gave them a crash course on the fine art of dealing with tradies.
PAUL: Yes. And that's off the back of your successful overhaul of the front yard, yeah?
TERESE: Yeah. That's right. I got exactly what I wanted.
Terese sashays away. Paul and Leo exchange a glance; Paul seems concerned.
Eirini Rising
At the woodwork session, Cara is staring thoughtfully at Felix, who is sanding off a project for one of the residents while chatting to JJ.
FELIX (to JJ): If Edison asks for help with another bog roll holder, I'm quitting.
JJ: Yeah, who needs four toilet roll holders in a studio apartment?
FELIX: Fella who needs to change his diet.
JJ: Probably!
Meanwhile, Cara is chatting to Moira as they work on a project together. Moira recalls how her husband Lester was a whizz with a lathe, and in her day this stuff was blokes' business. Cara says it's a good thing that times have changed.
As Cara moves away, Felix takes the opportunity to talk to her.
FELIX: Listen, about what I said last night...
CARA: Oh, we don't have to talk about it. Remi gave you the answer.
Meanwhile, Karl tells Susan he's leaving to take Holly to court. Susan wishes Holly had let her come too; Karl claims Holly didn't want her to miss the woodwork session (!)
Susan tells Karl she's concerned about Terese, who hasn't turned up to work or responded to any of her messages. Karl is worried too, but has to go; Susan wishes him luck for Holly and asks him to keep her posted of developments.
Shortly afterwards, Terese does arrive at work, and Gino tells her that they're low on green paint for the woodwork class.
TERESE (uninterested): Well, I'm sure there's other colours.
GINO: But, well, you see, Katarina Katrovic is making a palm tree, and using all the green paint, and nobody else can get a -
TERESE (interrupting): I don't know, Gino! Why don't you mix some yellow and blue together, hmm?
GINO: Ah, ingenious!
As Gino walks off, Susan then approaches. Terese queries why they are doing the woodwork session as it wasn't scheduled for today, but Susan insists it was - asking where Terese has been all morning. Terese mumbles that her brain must still be on holiday.
SUSAN: Understandable. Although, not the only thing you got mixed up.
TERESE: Excuse me?
SUSAN: Well, I told you I'd booked Cara to run this class, but then after that, you booked Felix.
TERESE (unbothered): Oh. Okay.
SUSAN: Oh, well, I guess it was just an oversight.
TERESE (bolshy): What do you mean, 'I guess'?
SUSAN: ... Nothing. Never mind.
TERESE: I mean, there's nothing wrong with a second teacher. It's good OH&S practice.
SUSAN: Terese!
TERESE: Susan, honestly, why are you making such a big deal out of this?!
Terese marches off, leaving Susan looking surprised.
A while later, Susan apologises to Cara for the mix- up with double- booking her and Felix.
CARA: Oh, it's fine. Exposure therapy. We're trying to get to an okay place with him.
SUSAN: How's that going?
CARA: Uh, it's going. But it's weird.
Terese has reappeared and Moira takes the opportunity to have another dig about her missing property.
MOIRA: Care to know what I'm *not* making? A wine rack.
TERESE: Moira...
MOIRA: I've called down to the police station seven times. They don't care. Management here do not accept responsibility. I would like to know where my wine is, and who took it.
TERESE: Okay. Look, I'm sorry but there's not much more that we can do about it, so maybe just let it go.
Moira doesn't look happy. Meanwhile, Felix has another attempt at a chat with Cara.
FELIX: I obviously caused some tension with my offer last night.
CARA: Yeah, well. Let's just say it weirded us out.
FELIX: Yeah, I really didn't mean to.
CARA: Putting it out there like that just made it seem like you'd forgotten all the heartache we went through.
FELIX: Yeah, I get it.
CARA: You know, we're finally in a good place. Something like that could really upset the applecart.
FELIX: Understood.
CARA: It's not a big deal for you, then?
FELIX: You have to get a donor from somewhere, right?
CARA: Right.
FELIX: Just thought I could help out.
CARA: It's as simple as that?
FELIX: Plus, I'd be giving JJ and Dex a little brother or sister in the process.
JJ comes over, having seen them chatting, and asks if it's 'secret woodwork talk'. But Felix and Cara decline to fill him in, and Felix moves off elsewhere.
The Waterhole
Remi is chatting to Andrew at the bar, having filled him in on Felix's proposition after dinner last night.
ANDREW: Surely Felix could see how loaded that was for you.
REMI: Well, not really. I shut him down. And today, he's working with Cara at Eirini; I'm sure she'll be doing the same. I guess he was trying to help, in his own way?
ANDREW: I hope this hasn't set you back.
REMI: We won't let it. And the boys are none the wiser, so...
ANDREW: I won't say a word.
Remi asks how Andrew's doing, noting that it must be strange living on his own, with Wendy away and Sadie at No 32.
ANDREW: I'm hanging in there.
REMI: If you need company, you know where we are, yeah?
Andrew smiles, but after Remi leaves, he looks more troubled.
Lassiter's Complex
Paul and Leo are at a table outside the pub. Paul is convinced something seriously wrong is afoot with Terese, given how brazenly she lied to his face about her trip away. Leo agrees that there are some 'big red flags', and Paul blames Susan for not keeping a better eye on Terese when he asked her to. Leo advises Paul to talk to Terese; Paul argues that he's been trying to stay away.
LEO: It's getting to a point now where someone needs to make sure she's okay. Look, talk to her, alright? She doesn't have anyone else.
Paul agrees.
Eirini Rising
Moira has finished making her woodwork project, and everyone is standing around trying to guess what it is!
FELIX: I've never seen a more beautiful... spice rack?
MOIRA: It's a trophy! For the annual Eirini Rising jam- making competition.
GINO: Well, Harold told me that proposal was rejected.
MOIRA: One, he's in Port Douglas. And two, this is the trophy. Rejection overruled.
Terese swans in and gushes about what a huge success today's event has been, then asks for a round of applause for Cara and Felix as the tutors.
FELIX: We make a pretty good team.
CARA: Yeah, not too shabby.
JJ looks pleased that his (biological) parents are finally getting on! He and Cara decide to head home.
Meanwhile, Susan is delighted having received news from Karl on the phone about Holly's court case. She finishes the call and goes over to tell Terese that Holly was given an 'adjourned undertaking' - the best possible outcome.
TERESE (not looking up): Good for her. The linen delivery's gonna be later than expected. I'm gonna be here for hours.
SUSAN (conciliatory): Look, that's okay. I'll wait. You go.
TERESE: No, no, no. I'll do it. After all, I wouldn't want to be accused of letting the team down for the second time today.
Susan doesn't rise to the bait, and instead says she'll see Terese tomorrow and leaves. Terese leans on a railing, looking worse for wear. At which point, Paul turns up.
PAUL: I know you lied about Adelaide.
Terese scowls at him and begins to walk away, but Paul follows.
PAUL: Oh, come on, Terese! Surely you must've known you'd get caught out with such an obvious lie!
TERESE (hushed): I don't know what you're talking about! And whatever it is, it's none of your business!
PAUL: Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. But I'm not letting you off the hook. I need to know what's going on.
TERESE (shout- whispering): Don't start me!
PAUL: Terese, I'm getting worried about you.
TERESE (upset): Oh, cut the crap, Paul! You're not worried about me! You don't care. I mean, you said you'd be here if I needed you. And when I needed you, where were you, Paul? Where were you? Oh no - you disappeared because you couldn't handle your feelings! And I was left to sink or swim! But now, guess what? I don't need you anymore. And maybe I never did!
PAUL: Terese...
TERESE: But you can be sure of one thing. And let me make it really clear. I will never, ever need you again! Now, get out of my sight!
Paul leaves reluctantly as Terese fumes.

In the sunroom, JJ and Dex are exchanging notes about whatever's going on with their mums. Dex reports the strained conversation he saw between Remi and Felix outside the tram, though he couldn't hear what they were saying. For his part, JJ says he also saw Cara and Felix in an intense conversation at the woodwork session.
In the kitchen, Remi and Cara are dishing out (and in Cara's case, eating) takeaway when Dex and JJ come in to join them. Remi asks Dex about his first day at Grease Monkeys.
DEX: I made burgers. I served burgers...
REMI: Oh. What's up? Did you spill tomato sauce on someone?
JJ: ... What's going on with Felix? Don't tell us it's nothing.
Remi and Cara exchange a glance.
Eirini Rising
Terese is looking very worse for wear and popping breath mints as the guy from the laundry, John Haider, prepares to leave in the linen truck. He apologises again for the delivery being so late.
TERESE (wobbly): I said it was fine the last time you apologised.
JOHN: Are you okay?
TERESE: I'm fine. It's just a bit late and I'm tired, you know.
He starts apologising again, but then wishes her a good night and gets in the truck to leave. Terese gets into her car - but she reverses it by accident and it hits a pipe running into the building. We hear the sound of gas hissing, but Terese seems not to have noticed what she's done, and drives away...
No 30
Cara and Remi are telling Dex and JJ about Felix's offer to be a sperm donor if they have a baby. JJ and Dex are both looking thoughtful.
REMI: We've already nixed the idea, so we don't need to discuss it again.
DEX: If you guys had another baby with Felix... it would be JJ's full sibling?
REMI: You don't even need to go there with the questions, cos we've already said no.
JJ: Alright, well... my head's spinning, but if that's the end of that...
CARA: That is the end of that.
Cara tells the boys to go and set the table for dinner, and they comply.
REMI: That is the end of that.
CARA: Agreed. And to make it really official, we should start looking at donors.
Remi looks excited.
No 28
The Kennedys and Holly are having takeaway too, to celebrate her having dodged a custodial sentence! Susan has a celebration breakfast planned too - but for now, Holly bids them goodnight. No sooner has she gone than Susan gets an urgent call from Gino at Eirini Rising.
GINO: Susan, there's a situation here! I can smell gas... and residents are starting to become unwell. People are panicking. What do I do?
Susan immediately tells Karl to call the emergency services and inform them of a gas leak at Eirini.
SUSAN: Gino, we're sending help, it's okay. I need you to get everybody outside. It sounds like a gas leak, so you need to get them out into the fresh air (...) I'll grab Terese, we'll be there as soon as possible.
Karl is asking for fire and ambulance backup at Eirini, but Susan can't get through to Terese, so she heads round to No 22 to knock on the door.
No 22
Terese is passed out at the dining table, a half- empty bottle of wine next to her. We can hear Susan banging on the front door and shouting Terese's name, and she tries to ring her phone again, but to no avail - Terese is out for the count.
The Waterhole
Andrew is cleaning up after hours at the pub, because apparently Wendy told him to keep an eye on the place (!) while chatting to Felix about his offer to the Varga- Murphys over a few beers.
FELIX: Okay, okay, I shouldn't have opened my trap.
ANDREW: Yeah. At least you realise it.
FELIX: Was Remi mad? Cos Cara and I are back on track.
ANDREW: No, she was fine. Once the shock passed and she realised your intentions were honourable.
FELIX: Honourable?
ANDREW: Yeah.
FELIX: That's a word people never use about me.
Felix is about to leave for the tram. Andrew looks a little guilty that Felix is still having to sleep there. But Felix hugs him and thanks him for being on his side. Once Felix has gone, Andrew puts in a phone call to Wendy. He asks how things are - she says she's good.
ANDREW: I was just, uh, talking to Felix. How would you feel if he moved into our place? Sleeping at the tram's pretty rough, right?
WENDY: Well, we have the room... and if Cara and Remi are okay with it, I think it's a great idea.
Andrew wraps up the call.
Eirini Rising
A fire crew and paramedics are gathering in the courtyard, as Karl helps look after the bewildered residents. Susan asks if there are any serious cases - he says it's hard to say, there are still residents in the building. Moira appears, being led to safety by a firefighter.
MOIRA: We shouldn't be out here. The building is going to go up! Why are we waiting? We'll perish!
Susan wraps a blanket around her, and assures her that the building won't explode; the fire crew has sealed the leak and everyone will be okay. But Moira seems unreassured as she's led away. Karl asks Susan if she's heard from Terese, but she hasn't.
They then spot Gino, who reports that all residents are out of the building, safe and accounted for.
SUSAN: Oh, Gino, thank you so much.
KARL: You deserve a medal. You've been amazing tonight. Nothing short of heroic.
GINO: It's a team effort.
Gino wants to help with the residents still milling about in the courtyard, but Susan and Karl are keen for him to get over to the tent that's been set up so he can rest.
GINO: I'll rest when everyone's well.
But at this point, Gino starts to feel faint and wobbly. Karl encourages him to sit down; Gino insists he's fine, but soon collapses to the ground. Karl checks his pulse.
KARL: Gino, can you hear me? Can you hear me? I need help here!
