Caravan Park
Melanie arrives on the site to pay Logan a surprise visit. When he hears her call out his name from inside his van, he hurriedly takes off David's shirt and puts it back in the case, before putting his own t- shirt back on and going to answer the door. Melanie has bought them some sticky buns as a treat.
Logan says it's not a good time as he's waiting for a callback from the bank. But Mel says they never call back, and tries to shove her way in! Logan snaps.
LOGAN (loudly): Melanie! What part of 'I am busy' did you just not hear?
MELANIE (shaken): Sorry. I was just... do you want a bun? Take a bun.
Logan does as he's told, and Melanie leaves, looking awkward. Back in the van, Logan glances towards the case of David's clothes on his bed, shaken by almost being caught out.
Yorokobi
Mackenzie and Haz are on hand to help Kiri with an event at the vineyard. Nicolette comes in.
NICOLETTE: Oh! I thought I was early.
KIRI: You are. We're just earlier.
Kiri hopes the day will go brilliantly and lead to lots of new bookings. Kiri assigns Haz to the stemware, Mackenzie to the silverware, and Nicolette to health and safety.
KIRI: There's an apron in the back room (...) If you could start by checking all the bins have liners in them.
NICOLETTE (strained): So when is Leo getting in?
KIRI: Leo is in back- to- back meetings getting distribution going again.
NICOLETTE: So he's not coming in today.
KIRI: No. So I'll be in charge.
Nicolette forces a smile and whacks the lid of her coffee cup as an apparent outlet for her frustration. Mackenzie and Haz watch, bemused, as she heads off to get her apron...
Harold's Café
Logan comes in and finds Melanie at the counter. He apologises for being rude when she called round before, claiming she caught him at a bad moment. Mel admits she should have checked before coming round.
LOGAN: No, it was a really nice thought. And the bun was yum, so thanks for that, too.
Logan offers to help her in the Drinks Divas van today; it's his day off but he has nothing else planned. She says she's actually headed to view a house rental, but if Logan wants to help he could take a bucket of scraps from the van round to Karl for his compost. Logan seems happy to oblige.
Aaron comes in with a box of donations for the Sonya Foundation - mostly Isla's old stuff. He volunteers to come with Logan to take the scraps to Karl once he's dropped it off, then suggests they could get a coffee later. Logan agrees to the plan of action, and Melanie watches this exchange with concern. When Aaron goes back out again to drop off the donations, Melanie gives Logan a look.
LOGAN: What?
MELANIE: Thought you weren't gonna get involved?
LOGAN: It's just coffee (...) It's okay, Mel, I'm fully friend- zoning myself. You don't need to worry.
But Melanie looks unconvinced as she heads off for her house viewing.

Karl thanks Logan and Aaron for bringing the scraps around for the compost. Aaron notices that the Ramsay Street History Book is out on the table; Susan says they're just making a few updates. For Logan's benefit, Karl explains it's a record of everyone who's lived on the street since the 1980s. There's a photo of Aaron and David at the Christmas fair, and Logan asks if there are more from their early time together.
Karl remarks that he bets Logan didn't have anything like the History Book in Parramatta. But Logan has told Aaron a different story - that he came from Liverpool - so Aaron corrects Karl.
KARL: I thought you said you grew up in Parramatta?
LOGAN: No, definitely Liverpool.
Karl looks uneasy. Logan asks if the Kennedys would mind if they borrowed the History Book to look at back at Aaron's. Susan says it's fine, and Aaron promises to bring it back soon. Once they're gone, Karl remarks that he's sure Logan said he grew up in Parramatta.
The Waterhole
Andrew sits at the bar while Wendy is working - but her mind is elsewhere. Meanwhile, Cara is about to head to her IT lessons at uni, but she's startled when Remi appears and suggests they have a coffee. Cara says she can't, but not wanting to tell Remi where she's going, Cara claims she has to check the 'load disconnectors', whatever that means! Cara says she won't be back for a couple of hours, then leaves.
Back at the bar, Wendy is still very distracted, and Andrew suggests she's probably just tired. She insists that she isn't hungover, though - at least not today. Remi overhears this and asks if Wendy's been having late- night uni parties.
ANDREW: Yeah. Brutal at any age, but as the years go on...
REMI: They get worse, and worse, and worse.
Wendy looks really annoyed and embarrassed! Andrew suggests she take the afternoon off after uni to get some proper rest, but she can't at short notice.
ANDREW: Then maybe you've got to stop saying yes to all these party invitations.
REMI: Hey, just tell 'em, 'I'm not twenty anymore.'
WENDY (defensive): Well, they know, and they love me for me!
REMI: Aww!
Wendy looks even more annoyed.
Yorokobi
Haz and Mackenzie are setting tables in the bar area, as instructed by Kiri. Nicolette emerges in her apron, having finished with the bins, and offers to help Kiri with the wine. But Kiri sends Nicolette to check on the toilets instead, telling her there's plenty of loo roll in the storage cupboard! Nic looks annoyed.
NICOLETTE: Am I doing all the 'health and safety' jobs?
KIRI: Is there a problem?
NICOLETTE: Why am I getting all the dirty bin and dirty dunny duties?
KIRI: Uh, because it needs to be done. Unless toilet paper is beneath you?
Nicolette forces another smile, and walks away sassily.
Eden University
Upbeat electronic music plays, as a very different Wendy from the one we've just seen in the Waterhole sashays into the uni courtyard, in slow motion. She's dressed very differently - perhaps more in the style of Sadie and her peers - and excitedly greets various other students as she passes them. The music comes to an abrupt halt, however, when Wendy sees Cara sitting nearby, watching her with a bemused smile.
Wendy's face drops, and at first she turns away, as if hoping to pretend she hasn't seen Cara. But undeterred, Cara calls her over; so Wendy reluctantly forces a smile and goes to join her.
CARA (smiling): Why are you dressed like that?
WENDY (lost for words): ... What are you doing here? I mean, aren't you meant to be fixing the load thingies?
CARA (awkwardly): Yep. Yep. Uh... I'm gonna go. Uh, don't tell anyone you saw me here. Please?
Wendy looks confused as Cara walks off.
Harold's Café
Aaron and Logan are having a coffee. Aaron is telling Logan about his Kid from Kalgoorlie (exotic dancing) days, and his early relationship with David, as they look through the History Book. Aaron then tells the tale of how he and David were once forced to flee from a day spa naked after the fire alarm went off mid- massage!
AARON: We would have had a million stories to tell the grandkids. Sorry... this must be really boring, listening to me ramble on like this.
LOGAN: No, actually. I appreciate you sharing (...) I can see how happy it makes you.
They smile at one another.
AARON: Yeah. I mean, I always tried to appreciate how good it was at the time, with... well, I hope I did. Yeah, you only ever meet someone like David once in a lifetime.
Logan looks rather emotional.
Yorokobi
Kiri is very impressed with Mackenzie and Haz's hard work, and tells them to take a break and have some Danish pastries in the other room. Nicolette walks in and then outside with some bin bags, and there's an immediate chill in the air.
HAZ: Are you guys okay?
KIRI: I'm sorry if it's awkward.
MACKENZIE: Are you both coping?
KIRI: Yeah, I'm fine. I only have to deal with her at work now.
HAZ: Do you think it would've helped if Leo was here today.
KIRI: Leo shouldn't need to be here for everyone to act professionally.
But Nicolette has come back in; it's not clear how much she's heard.
NICOLETTE: You happy with the bathrooms?
KIRI: I am. Thank you.
There's a long awkward silence.
MACKENZIE: Danishes.
HAZ: Yeah, a hundred percent.
Mack and Haz rush off for their break. Nic and Kiri stare each other out for a while, then Kiri walks out.
Eden University
Cara spots Wendy studying across the courtyard, and seemingly summoning up some courage, goes over to join her at the table.
CARA: So, umm, the reason I'm here is because I'm doing a short IT course.
WENDY: That's great! ... Is it a secret?
CARA (defensive): No! No, it's just, you know... it was a last- minute thing and, err, it's just not worth mentioning, really (...) I'm fitting around work, so...
WENDY: Okay. So why did you tell Remi that you'd be working at the hotel?
CARA: Because, like I said, it's just a short course, so... I'm not telling anyone, okay?
WENDY: Cara, they'd be so proud of you. I mean, doing study on top of all your work...
But Cara's done talking about it, and starts to get up.
CARA: I'll see you around. *If* I can recognise you!
WENDY (awkward): Oh. No, I... I occasionally raid Sadie's wardrobe when I come here. Just, umm, you know... I don't own things as casual as Sade, so...
CARA (awkward): Okay.
Cara leaves, while Wendy feels newly self- conscious about her sartorial decisions!
Yorokobi
Preparations are still underway for the event, but it all kicks off when Kiri finds her guest list under one of the vases on the tables, and thus sopping wet.
NICOLETTE: Why are you blaming me?
KIRI: Because you're the one putting the vases out.
NICOLETTE: Okay, okay. I didn't see your guest list. I didn't realise the vase was wet.
KIRI: (scoffs)
NICOLETTE: Oh, here we go. Nicolette the Wrecker ruining perfect Kiri's life once again.
KIRI: Can you just calm down? The guests are gonna be here soon.
NICOLETTE (shouting): You've been here for two minutes! You're already telling me how to behave.
KIRI: I am not!
Mackenzie and Haz look awkward and make faces at each other.
NICOLETTE: Can you hear yourself? You know, I actually came here today with good intentions, to make this trial with you work. And you have gone and you've given me every crappy job you could think of. I have gone off and I have done it.
KIRI: Okay. Can we not do this in front of Mackenzie and Haz, please?
NICOLETTE: What, but it's okay to do it behind my back? Because it's not a very nice feeling when I walk into a room and everyone falls silent.
KIRI: We don't have time for this.
NICOLETTE: You know, I don't see any genuine signs that you want to make this work. So how about we just be honest, and stop wasting everyone's time?

Melanie is doing the accounts for the Drinks Divas; she tells Karl and Susan that since taking on Logan, her takings have been up by 30 percent. But Karl queries whether it's worth it if Logan's going to lie to her and be rude. Melanie concedes that Logan did apologise, but says it felt like he was doing it because he should, rather than because he meant it.
SUSAN: Well, if you're both gonna quit the Logan Fan Club, I will stop trying to make excuses for him. I more than learnt my lesson with Finn.
Remi pops in to return a research paper she's borrowed from Karl. She admits she overheard them talking about Logan.
KARL: Yeah, we're beginning to think that all you see is not all you get with that guy.
REMI: Well, you know, I am sure I had met him before at a medical conference a few years ago, but he said I was wrong.
KARL: He's a doctor?
REMI: Well, he admitted to being there but he said he was just a waiter.
Susan points out that Logan is working in hospitality with Mel, and Mel says he does know what he's doing.
MELANIE: Except... he doesn't know how to make cocktails.
REMI: It's just that the more I've thought about it, the more I am *certain*, he was there as a delegate.
KARL (to Melanie): Okay, you have to talk to him. Come on, cards on the table. No more mucking around.
MELANIE: What do I say?
SUSAN: Well, if he's got nothing to hide, surely asking a few questions won't be a problem.
MELANIE: But what if he *has* got something to hide?
The Waterhole
Wendy is back at work, and Andrew has come in for lunch. He asks how uni is going; she replies 'good but weird', seemingly about to mention that she ran into Cara there. But at that moment Cara and Remi come in, and Cara gives Wendy a look, as if imploring her to keep her secret. Cara loudly asks if Wendy's still having trouble with a dodgy power point, and Wendy leads her behind the bar to 'look at it'.
CARA: Hey, umm... about uni. The reason I've kept it to myself is because I'm worried I'm gonna fail.
WENDY: But you're a qualified electrician, aren't you?
CARA: Yeah...
WENDY: So you passed that. And I know it's not easy.
CARA: But it's not computer tech. And... I feel stupid when I can't do things that other people seem to find easy.
WENDY: Can I tell you something? I walked out of a lecture for that same reason. And the professor found me, and I told him that I thought I was stupid, and I didn't get any of it. And he reminded me that the only one who's judging me is me. So, if you're gonna keep standing in your own way, Cara, you're not gonna get anywhere... And then he told me to keep score of my wins.
CARA: Mm. Does it help?
WENDY: With Andrew and Sadie pushing me. So maybe opening up to Remi and the boys, you know, might be worth considering.
CARA: The same way you're open about dressing differently for your uni mates with Andrew?
WENDY: Fine. You keep my secret and I'm gonna keep yours.
CARA: Sure. Thanks.
Harold's Café
Logan is still looking through the History Book when Melanie turns up. She tells Logan she's just about to update the social media pages for the Drinks Divas, and wants to do a bio for him now he's part of the team.
LOGAN: I think you're more the face of it.
MELANIE: It's just, when people ask I want to make sure I've got my facts straight.
LOGAN: Why would people be asking about me?
MELANIE: It's not that they are. It's just that... you keep telling people different things.
LOGAN: No, I don't. You don't need to post about me. Just concentrate on yourself.
MELANIE: Is there a reason why you don't want to talk about yourself?
LOGAN: Because I don't pry into your private life, Melanie - and I don't want you making up stories about me, okay?
MELANIE: That is not what I am doing!
But at this point Aaron comes back from the bathroom, and he and Logan head off with the History Book. Melanie notices that Logan has left his bag behind, and she impulsively swipes something out of it. However, Logan has now come back in. He doesn't appear to have seen her go in his bag.
LOGAN: Hey, Mel - I'm sorry for overreacting. I'm a private person, that's just how I am.
MELANIE: I have a right to know who I'm working with.
Logan laughs rather eerily, and suggests they 'just reset'. He grabs his bag and promises to 'be better', before heading off. Melanie says 'okay', without enthusiasm, and Logan leaves again. We then see what Melanie's taken from his bag - the keys to his caravan.
Yorokobi
Nicolette is raking leaves outside the vineyard when Kiri comes to find her.
KIRI: I thought you might've gone.
NICOLETTE: I'm committed to Yorokobi.
KIRI: So then, why are you sulking? Because I asked you to clean the bathrooms?
NICOLETTE: We're supposed to be equal partners in this. Not me working for you. Why don't we just be honest, and lay our cards on the table?
KIRI: Okay. I'm still angry at you. I hate the way things ended between us.
NICOLETTE: Me too.
KIRI: And I still don't fully understand it. I mean, one minute you were clashing with Sasha; you said you didn't like his influence over me.
NICOLETTE: Yeah, I found him pious and judgemental.
KIRI: And then the next, you were ruining his marriage, apparently by tempting him with lingerie?
NICOLETTE: Yeah, that got... twisted.
KIRI: (scoffs)
NICOLETTE: As things progressed, he became attracted to me... and I was attracted to him.
KIRI (upset): So I was right to be suspicious, then.
NICOLETTE (nods): I couldn't admit it at the time. It was easier to just fight and break up. But I understand my behaviour so much better now, and I want to tell you -
KIRI (upset): No, I've heard enough.
Kiri walks away, leaving Nicolette upset too.
Sonya's Mural
Logan is telling Aaron about his fondness for tap dancing as a kid, which amuses Aaron.
AARON: You know what, I've had a really great day.
LOGAN: Yeah, me too. It's nice to meet someone who doesn't look traumatised when I tell them I did tap.
AARON: Well, it's nice meeting someone who actually gets what I'm talking about, when I talk about David.
LOGAN: Yeah, well. I understand what that kind of love is like. And what it means when it's gone. I just don't want to overstep.
AARON: No, hey - I'm happy if you're happy.
Caravan Park
Melanie has arrived with Logan's caravan key, and lets herself in for a snoop around. She soon spots the suitcase on the bed with the 'David Tanaka' tag, and opens it to find all of David's clothes that Aaron donated. As she rifles through it, we see in the mirror that Logan has appeared at the door behind her...
