Victor claims they're debating romcoms vs. action movies. Byron doesn't look completely convinced as Sadie agrees. Victor quietly thanks Sadie. Victor suggests inviting Jane over for a cup of tea as she might be more comfortable with him here than No.24.
BYRON: I wonder why.
VICTOR: It's been a long time. We're not getting any younger.
BYRON: You know she's in a relationship?
VICTOR: With the eternally absent Mike?
Byron reminds Victor it has nothing to do with him and he has no right to judge. Victor wishes he had had the courage to be honest with Jane over the years. Byron thinks Jane isn't interested in Victor being honest but Sadie thinks she would.
SADIE: Shouldn't it be Jane's choice?
Byron agrees but isn't confident Jane will agree.
Lassiter's Complex
Holly urges Mackenzie to be honest about everything, Mackenzie points out it's more complicated than that. Krista needs them to take over as she has a meeting with Paul. She will try and convince Paul to let this place keep going. They thank her and she heads off.
HOLLY: It's time that you took your own advice.
Mackenzie is touched that Toadie and Terese have turned up to volunteer for the next shift. Terese is convinced it will be a breeze.
Penthouse
Paul officially welcomes Krista back. There has been an internal investigation over Chelsea and they didn't flag anything else. Krista is happy to resume her duties. Paul is happy with this and wants to discuss ideas about the conference rooms. He suggests they ask room service to bring coffee. Leo who has quietly been in the corner declines as he has a meeting, Krista agrees.
Harold's Cafe
Terese is juggling orders and Holly compliments her. Terese joins Jane in the corner.
JANE: I've never thought of you as a waitress.
TERESE: This is possibly more painful than childbirth.
Jane doesn't agree! Jane gets a message from Victor but thinks there's more to Victor's plans than he's letting on. Jane doesn't want him to take advantage of her.
JANE: This act he's putting on, the whole supportive father, it won't last. I need to put him in his place before he does any serious damage.
Lassiter's Complex
Krista finishes a phone call. Shannon arrives and offers her something to take the edge off. Krista refuses, Shannon tries to persuade her. Leo sees what's going on, heads over and phones the police station. Shannon heads off, Krista isn't impressed with Leo and heads off. Leo looks thoughtful.
No.32
Victor has prepared some tea and cakes, Byron doesn't want him to go OTT. Sadie suggests they go for a walk as Jane arrives. Byron wishes her all the best. He offers her the chance to sit down but she calmly wants to know what he plans to ask. He admits to an agenda which doesn't surprise her.
VICTOR: I've had time to reflect recently. There's a lot I'm not proud of. I want to apologise for that unreservedly. I betrayed your trust far too often. You didn't deserve any of it.
Jane admits that concentrating on her grandmother didn't help. Victor realises he should have been there for her.
VICTOR: Marrying you was the truest most worthwhile thing that ever happened to me.
She wants him to cut to the chase and thinks he wants a loan. That's not his plan, she points out he did the same thing in 2010. She isn't convinced as he's staying on Byron's couch. He wants to spend time with Byron. She wants him to be remorseful for all the times he's been left with no money. She will send him to London if he asks Nicolette and Byron for money!
Erinsborough Hospital
Mackenzie wants to be honest with Haz. She admits that the email screenshot sent to Wade was real. She wrote to Harlow saying that she couldn't love Haz as she loved Hendrix. She is unsure about why she wasn't honest. She was confused about things.
MACKENZIE: I never should have compared you to each other at the time. Knowing what I know now. I can't live my life without you.
She begs him to wake up for Harold's, Trevor, their friends and herself as she sobs.
Ramsay Street
Nicolette is taking groceries out of the boot as Jane comes over. Nicolette asks how things went. She had to head out and get some fresh air after everything that he had said. Nicolette wants to know why Jane doubts his sincerity. Jane explains it was Victor's usual spiel.
NICOLETTE: Is Dad being sincere so hard for you to believe?
JANE: Vic Stone wouldn't know sincerity if it bit him on the backside.
No.24
Nicolette doesn't think Jane should give up on Victor so fast. She points out that Victor doesn't seem his usual cheerful self. Jane wonders what he's requested from Nicolette, he hasn't. It was weird when Victor talked about Nicolette's career.
NICOLETTE: It wasn't the usual jokey feel good banter I've come to expect from Dad.
Jane wants Nicolette to be cautious in case Victor's trying to hypnotise her! Nicolette thinks he's trying to change and points out he flew over from London to sort things out. Jane gasps as she goes and sees a vase on the table and goes over to touch it. Nicolette recognises it as Nell's vase. Jane knows it's the same from the maker's mark. Nicolette had wondered where it went. Jane tells her Victor sold it without permission so he could invest in a scheme. Jane gets annoyed about Victor having it for so long. Nicolette takes it off her before Jane drops it in annoyance!
Harold's Cafe (Outside)
Holly wants to know how things went. Mackenzie didn't find it easy but is glad she talked to Haz. Mackenzie realises they need to talk through things when Haz regains consciousness.
MACKENZIE: Secrets can't be a part of the equation again.
Holly and Mackenzie agree to now carry on working at Harold's Cafe for Haz's sake. Paul and Leo arrive, Paul is stunned to see Harold's open again. Mackenzie wants to know if Paul is going to reconsider his plan. She tells him of her plan to keep the business going. He points out they've got a toastie deal. Mackenzie tells him they're ordering other things as well. Toadie joins them.
TOADIE: You've grown up here. You've seen managers come and go. Haz has been doing a pretty good job keeping this place running.
Paul isn't convinced as Terese points out how business is booming. Paul tells them there's more to it than serving coffee. Mackenzie tells him she'll be the person to contact. Paul agrees to consider it.
No.32
Byron lets Jane in who is carrying the vase, Nicolette is following. Jane isn't impressed Victor entered No.24 without permission.
VICTOR: It's not exactly something I would trust a courier with.
JANE: Why did you let me go off at you ... had this up your sleeve the whole time?
Sadie is confused so Nicolette updates her. Victor tells Jane he's always looked for the vase. He found it at an estate sale in the end. He realises he shouldn't have taken it but at least he can finally give it back to Jane.
JANE: You're as slippery as a fish.
She is frustrated with him but is glad to have it back in one piece. Nicolette is impressed they didn't shout and scream at each other! Byron wants to know how Victor raised the cash to purchase the vase. Nicolette is convinced he always has money whatever he says otherwise. Sadie is watching Victor as they're talking.
Harold's Cafe
Paul arrives, Mackenzie wants to know what he's decided.
PAUL: I find your diligence and tenacity both admirable and irritating.
MACKENZIE: I'll choose to take that as a compliment.
As she's determined to keep this place running he agrees for Harold's Cafe to stay open. He is impressed with how she's doing. He will take down the ad for another leaseholder.
MACKENZIE: We get to keep the cafe.
Toadie and Terese cheer! Holly runs to hug Mackenzie in excitement.
Lassiter's Complex
Leo and Krista walk past each other. Leo calls back to ask how he has erred. She doesn't appreciate him playing the hero. He just tried to be helpful. She points out they're not together and not friends either.
LEO: I'm not apologising for doing the right thing.
Krista tells him he's sending mixed signals. Even though they're not together he keeps getting involved in everything. He reminds her Krista broke up with him.
LEO: It's not that easy to stop caring about you.
KRISTA: It's easy for me to stop caring?
As Paul watches she wants him to just continue in the opposite direction in future. Leo agrees in frustration. Paul tries to talk to him as he walks past but Leo doesn't stop. Paul gets a phone call from Lucy. His face falls as he hears what she has to tell him.

Sadie reminds Byron he has a shift at Harold's Cafe, he needs to head off and does so.
Sadie tells Victor that he needs to be honest. His children know something is up after he raised the cash to buy the vase. He wants her to forget what was on the laptop.
SADIE: I know that keeping secrets from family... it gets messy.
VICTOR: Trust me. I need to do this my way.
Sadie wants him to proceed with his plans fast. He puts his hand on her shoulder as he tells her he needs to sort things out. Byron comes in and Victor takes his hand off her shoulder. Victor is heading off to relax.
Byron wants to know if Victor was being too familiar with Sadie. Sadie assures Byron Victor hasn't done that. Byron heads out as Sadie looks thoughtful.
Lassiter's Complex
Krista is mulling over things and puts her head in her hands. Shannon arrives and notes she is stressed. Shannon wants to talk whilst Leo isn't here. She offers Krista a special of opioids, Krista refuses.
SHANNON: A girl's got to do what a girl's got to do.
KRISTA: If I have to call my security team to deal with you I'll do what I've got to do.
Krista points out that the Sinclair heavies are tougher and less polite than the cops! Krista tells Shannon to clear off and not come back. Krista heads off. Shannon drops the opioids in the grass as she heads off.
Erinsborough Hospital
Mackenzie lets Haz know how well the cafe is doing. Paul is letting Haz keep the lease. Mackenzie tells him how helpful everyone has been. She lets him know how much he's missed as she takes his hand.
MACKENZIE: We're going to keep it going as long as you need.
As Mackenzie arranges his things Haz's hand moves.
Lassiter's Complex
Leo suggests to Abby that they play by the usual spot near the lake. Paul arrives and lifts Abby up for a hug. As Abby plays on the floor Paul mentions what happened with Krista. Paul thinks they still have strong feelings for each other.
LEO: You're not in a position to be giving relationship advice.
PAUL: There's something else. My Aunt Rosemary died.
Leo is sorry to hear this. Paul tells him that as they were so close Lucy is naturally upset. Paul thinks Lucy will need him. Leo is ok to manage so Paul can go to the funeral. Paul agrees plus it's best for him to get away. He can reconnect with the family as well. He looks at Abby.
PAUL: Enjoy it while it lasts. Not too long before her life's as complicated as ours.
Abby has found the bag and is giving the opioids to her teddy as Leo and Paul talk unaware.
