The Waterhole
Ned, David and Aaron are waiting patiently to hear the news that Paul and Terese have got married, when Leo arrives in the bar with an announcement - his bar is gone, but at least he has his bond back so he can repay David and Aaron. Naturally, he is a bit down and the guys to their best to cheer him up and that he has a future to look ahead to, even if he's no idea yet what that is.

The Waterhole/Queensland
Ned breaks off from chatting to the guys to take the expectant call from Terese, but it isn't at all the news he was expecting to here.

TERESE: He called it off.

Ned can't believe what he's been told and Terese explains about Paul running into another ex-wife and went into a total downspin.

TERESE: (tearfully) And now I don't know what to do. I don't know where to go.
NED: Just breathe, I'm sure everything will be okay.

Terese wants to come home, but Ned insists she stays as he is sure it can be fixed before then saying he will come up to see her.

Queensland
Meanwhile outside in the resort, Paul stops beside the magnificent fountain and we can see he has their wedding bands in his hand. After pondering for a few more moments, he tosses them into the fountain and once he walks off, we can see the rings underneath the water.

Lassiters Complex
Amy and Kyle run into Gail as they walk through the complex. She enquires how Gary is doing (fine) before lamenting how she wishes they'd had a chance to see where things would go had he not called things off.

GAIL: But, what can you do?

Number 32
Ned arrives to tell the Tanaka brothers of his plans to go to Queensland - David would have liked to have gone but can't get the time off work.

After Ned leaves to pack, David comments to his brother that he wonders what is going through Paul's head?

LEO: A bit of self-reflection you'd hope.

He thinks too that if they were solid, the arrival of Paul's exes wouldn't "be an issue." David is more wondering about the coincidences of this all happening out of the blue.

DAVID: That would freak anyone out.
LEO: Or on the other hand, with so many exes, wouldn't it be a reason to think twice about clocking up another one?
DAVID: Still, I really hope they can work it out.

The Waterhole (veranda)
Sheila can't help but sit down for a chat about why Gary isn't with Rebecca when she drops off her coffee. Rebecca (who loves Sheila's nickname for Paul!) is on Sheila's side too over how Gary can't ignore the past and admits she would like to give things another go.

Queensland
Terese is packing Paul's clothes into his suitcase as he re-enters the room. He admits he's been wondering around for ages trying to come up with something that will make things better. The use of the word "better" is like a red rag to a bull as far as Terese is concerned and she throws another of his shirts into the suitcase to demonstrate how peeved she is!

PAUL: It's not that I don't love you, I love you with all my heart, but marriage...

Terese cuts him off mid-sentence and he begs for a chance to try and explain, but she doesn't want it to be "any harder than it already is"... as she now shoves his suits into the case before zipping it up!

Paul has finally realised what she was doing and tells her that she can't kick him out! Initially she ignores him and concentrates instead on getting the suitcase onto the floor, then pushing it towards the door before ordering him to "GET OUT!" Reluctantly, he doesn't fight her, simply silently walks towards where his suitcase is waiting. He now pauses and looks at her for a moment before walking out the door with his suitcase.

Number 26
Sheila is setting the table up for her and Gary to have supper outside in the garden. He isn't too amused at his mum interfering in his love life after hearing about the chat with Rebecca! It then turns into Kyle v Sheila when the lad arrives to tell his dad that Gail is still interested in him! The pair start trying to tell Gary who he should date!

Eventually, Gary decides he has had enough of the pair trying to organise his love life and reiterates that he is more than capable of making his own decisions!!! "Well, what is it then?!" Sheila demands to know and after pondering for a few moments, Gary replies that he doesn't know... but is "capable of figuring it out" without their inputs!

Queensland
As the apt lyrics from "Grace" plays, Paul stands pondering life. The song continues as we move into the new day and this time as Paul walks through the reception, he fails to notice Christina sitting with a satisfied smile on her face.

Meanwhile in the room, Terese hears from Ned that he is about to board his flight and will be with her soon as he can via a detour to Sydney. "I'll see you when I see you," she tells him before hanging up. She then receives a visitor - Paul but he leaves after her silence means she doesn't consent to him entering the room.

Lassiters Complex
Amy listens on as Sheila and Kyle continue their 'discussion' from the previous night over who Gary should date when Sheila spots the man in question sitting outside the Brasserie beside Rebecca. Cue one happy mum and Kyle begrudgingly telling his Gran that she's won!

SHEILA: Don't be so hard on yourself, my instincts when it comes to my Gary are top notch!

Brasserie
As they chat about some Jane Harper book, Rebecca admits to Gary that she's glad he called (he seems somewhat surprised to hear that!)... and that he's let the whole "Paul connection" thing go too. Gary concedes it was stupid to hold that over her, something Rebecca actually agrees with!

REBECCA: I've spent years holding onto the baggage of that relationship, but no more! I will not let it stop me from seeing someone I like.

Gary likes the sound of that last sentence, and indeed shuffles up closer next to her on the sofa! Both agree that they are more than over talking about Paul!

Queensland
Its Terese's turn to walk in the lovely resort grounds pondering the future as Paul sits doing the same thing on a beach while "All I ever wanted" plays over the scene.

Caroline spots her sister walking out of the hotel and gets out her phone and makes a call.

Terese isn't at all happy to hear someone at the door - its Caroline (having to correct Terese on who she is after Terese initially thought she was Christina) who is looking for Paul. Having told her that he is probably in another room after kicking him out, she wants to know what the pair of them are doing in the resort.

CAROLINE: Its complicated.

Understatement of the year that is and after Terese comments about all of Paul's exes turning up one by one, Caroline apologises for things turning out like this. She concedes she should be having this conversation with Paul but admits to Terese that she tried to talk her sister out of this. "Talk her out of what?" Terese asks and almost pleads with Caroline to tell her what is going on. Caroline agrees that Terese deserves to know but adds that its "not my story to tell. If you let me in, I'll call Chrissy."

The 82
Sheila helps Gary set the tram up, hearing how things went with Rebecca and that they are going on a date tomorrow night. It seems Gary is taken with Rebecca, describing her as "gorgeous," to his mum. Kyle is curious to know why Rebecca rather than Gail and turns out he hasn't chosen one over the other, he is "playing the field."

Turns out, Gary was preparing the tram for his date with Gail and as she arrives, he greets her warmly before thanking her for accepting his invite. As they sit, he apologises for his attitude towards her being Paul's ex.

GAIL: We all make mistakes... mine just happened to be Paul Robinson!

There is an interested trio of spectators just watching that scene - Kyle, Sheila and Amy.

KYLE: Wow, that was...
AMY: Unexpected.
KYLE: Yes.
SHEILA: Yes!

Amy thinks that perhaps it's a good idea for Gary to keep his options open, but Sheila points out that "multitasking has never been Gary's strong suit." The trio are like glued to watching too see how its going to turn out but the one thing they all seem to agree on is that Gary "is kidding himself!"

Queensland
Chrissy is surprised at the summons from her sister, especially as she thought she'd be in the penthouse! "Its not my room," Caroline replies, surprising her sister seconds before Terese walks out from the bathroom and does the intros.

"What's going on?" Chrissy asks and Caroline makes it clear to her sister that its time for the charade to stop.

TERESE: What charade?
CHRISTINA: You should be counting your blessings!

Just at this point, Paul walks into the room having been called by Caroline. "You never told me that you were here together," Paul says but Caroline explains that they didn't, she came after hearing Chrissy's plan, "trying to stop her." Terese demands that someone say what is going on and its Chrissy who does and begins by admitting it wasn't a coincidence she bumped into Paul.

CHRISTINA: I had a tip-off that you'd be here.
CAROLINE: Your other wives were sending instructions too.

Paul is totally confused by what has happened, including the fact he's been thinking "the universe has been trying to tell me not to marry Terese."

PAUL: And now you're telling me it's been a set up all along!
CHRISTINA: But what I said was true, you were a horrible husband!
PAUL: (irate) I don't give a rat's what you think about me, I want to know who else was involved and I want you to start talking right now.

The Waterhole
Amy asks her brothers (and Aaron) if they've heard from Ned and David confirms he's in Sydney. She also admits that the whole ex-wives turning up has got her bothered. David agrees with her, and mentioned saying something similar to Leo, while he puts it down to simply "strange things happen."

AARON: I think they're right, there's definitely something going on.
AMY: Do you think they'd actually team up together? Wouldn't that be crazy?!

Amy is curious though about how to explain the photo of Terry, which Leo tries to pass away as being "nothing."

As the trio have been chatting, and expressing their conspiracy theories, Leo has been trying to avoid joining in almost at all cost unless forced to, or what appears to be deflecting the conversation in another direction. Eventually, Aaron asks if Leo is okay (yes) then goes on to say that if the women did team up on Paul, he could see why. "You're defending them?" a surprised David asks his brother and Amy reminds him too of how Paul reacted on seeing Terry's photo. Leo agrees it was "bizarre," and denies knowing the photo was in the box. David isn't buying that answer and eventually asks his brother an important question:

DAVID: Leo, do you know something that we don't?

Cue lots of bum squirming from Leo as he figures out what his reply should be!

Queensland
Christina begins by saying she was contacted by someone two weeks ago because they were worried "about your wedding going forward" and thought it would be a good idea if his four ex-wives showed up. "Why?!" a confused Paul asks (Terese looks just as confused too).

CHRISTINA: I don't know... maybe to remind you how badly things ended? Make you think twice before ruining someone else's life?

Caroline interrupts to try and say something in her sister's defence, which earns an "I don't need you to defend me," comment from Chrissy. Caroline continues by saying that Christina didn't say yes to the plan right away, before Christina continues by informing Paul that there are a few things she'd like to get off her chest! "Why now?" Paul asks, especially since they've communicated since Brazil through Andrew. She concedes to keeping the peace "for his sake," but since he left home, she's had "plenty of time to reflect."

CHRISTINA: And you know what Paul, you have to face up to the pain you've caused.

Terese joins the conversation at this point to admit that she doesn't understand why Christina has been in contact with the other exes. Christina drops it in that it wasn't her, someone else contacted her.

TERESE: Which one of them was it?
CHRISTINA: None. I don't know what their motivation is, for being involved, nor do I care, I just know my truth.

Paul isn't the only one confused at this point, wanting to know who called them but also how did she know they'd eloped to Queensland.

CHRISTINA: I promised I wouldn't tell.
CAROLINE: Its someone quite close to you... perhaps you should sit down!
PAUL: I don't want to sit down. I need to know who is behind this and who is so hell-bent on destroying our lives.

Sydney airport
Ned calls Terese to let her know that he has been delayed in Sydney due to an electrical storm and he'll let her know when the flight is going to board.

As he finishes his call, he spots a damsel in distress (Scarlett Brady according to the credits!), sitting at the bar crying her heart out dressed in a wedding dress!!! Doing the gentlemanly thing, he hands her a handkerchief and asks how she is. "Never better," is the not-surprisingly sarcastic reply before he sits down beside her to a least get some company while his flight is delayed.

Ramsay Street
As Gary walks Gail up the street towards #26, they run into Rebecca who has just left there! He is curious to know why she is around, and she reveals that since he seemed keen on the book they were talking about on their date, she thought she'd drop round with a copy! Gary introduces Gail as "his friend."

GAIL: We already know each other.
REBECCA: Through Paul.

"Course, yes, it's a small world isn't it," Gary comes up with trying to deflect attention from the embarrassing scene! "Well no rush to give it back," Rebecca tells Gary while thrusting a copy of the book into his chest before walking off!

GARY: That was...
GAIL: Incriminating?

Gary fesses up to dating them both, because he met them both at the same time and since he couldn't decide which one to date, thought he could "play the field." He thinks he's really put his feet in it, but Gail isn't offended given they aren't exclusive and agrees to keep on seeing him... well at least going to see his pigeons, as long as he is honest.

Queensland
Paul is sitting looking at his laptop with the ladies standing together further back from him. "Do you want me to stay?" Terese asks and Paul replies no, he needs to do whatever it is alone.

The ladies retreat out of the room to chat privately as we hear the familiar skype tones begin and when it is answered, we hear who has been behind the plan - Elle!

PAUL: My own daughter, why would you do this to me?
ELLE: ...
