Ramsay Street
Terese ponders whether to meet with the investors after Paul gets a moaning text from one of them, although he warns that her association with Vance might come up, however she still thinks the meeting should proceed.
Their chat is interrupted when they spot an inebriated Roxy walking home and Paul reassures her that Leo is going to keep an eye out for her. Just like Paul and Terese, Leo isn't too amused to see Roxy arrive home drunk but in her mind, she's broken no rule because she wasn't drinking at work!
Number 22
Yashvi and Ned quickly spring apart from their pashing session when Terese and Paul arrive home! Terese gets her chance to speak to Ned about it after Paul decides he's got some calls to make and Yashvi heads home, not before giving him a quick kiss on the lips. She asks if them getting together is as a result of Finn and Bea getting closer? Ned denies that and replies that he's always liked Yashvi but being so caught up with Bea precluded him from giving her a chance. He acknowledges that she is a lot less experience than him and thus will be taking things slow.
Lassiters Complex
Yashvi runs into Chloe as they both walk through the complex and she can't resist telling her about kissing Ned! Chloe has a subtle word about taking things slowly, but the lass is more than ready. She enquires if Bea knows and Yashvi replies no, but Bea made it clear she'd be okay if anything ever happened.
YASHVI: I hope she hasn't changed her mind!
Number 22
Paul tells Terese of the plans he's made to talk to the investors however she is wrangling whether to call Gemma or not to tell her about Roxy. "Her mother couldn't rein her in for twenty years," he points out and feels it's best not to tell Gemma, simply wait and see how things pan out. He is actually more concerned that Terese is ready for the meeting in case one of the investors decides to sell up as he doesn't have the money to buy them out, but Terese assures him that she will be ready.
Harold's Café
Yashvi tells her mum about Ned and confirms that it is genuine. Like Chloe, Dipi asks if she's told Bea and the lass replies that she will. Thinking ahead, Yashvi then asks for her Medicare card so she can arrange to see a GP to discuss contraception. Dipi looks stunned and thinks she is jumping the ground too early. Their conversation is temporarily paused when Ned comes into the café and you'd swear Shane had heard what mother and daughter were talking about when he says to Ned:
SHANE: Hey, reckon it's about time we wiped that smile off your face mate.
Turns out Shane was referring to footy with the Cats playing the Saints at the weekend (it's actually next weekend the game takes place!). The men head off to chat footy and why Shane barracks for the Cats leaving Yashvi and her mum to continue their conversation.
Dipi reminds Yashvi that her focus should be her VCE and then tries to use the age difference but Yashvi immediately counteracts by reminder her mum about getting together with Shane.
YASHVI: Look, I'm not going to rush into anything okay, I just want to be prepared.
As a compromise, Dipi asks to accompany Yashvi to the doctors, but she reminds her mum that she's "a big girl now" and can go there alone. Big girl or not, Dipi wants to be the one to break the news to Shane.
The Waterhole (veranda)
Terese is sparing no expense wining and dining the investors despite the fact Julie-Ann (one of the investors) isn't a drinker! Pierce overhears their conversation and suggest a few helpful tips before offering to be at the dinner, which Terese readily accepts.
Chloe is somewhat surprised to see Pierce as he thought he was moving into his new house today but apparently Ebony, despite being desperate to escape hotel living, wants to wait until the interior design is right.
Lassiters Complex
While she is serving some customers, Yashvi spots Bea cutting through the complex and plucks up the courage to stop Bea and tell her "Ned kissed me." "It is cool," Bea reassures the very nervous lass with, adding that Ned is a free agent and knows that she has always liked him too.
BEA: I hope it goes really well for you guys.
However when Bea moves away to get a coffee, you can see that while the mouth said one thing, the face is telling a different story.
(Later)
Outside The Waterhole, Terese admits to Susan that she isn't looking forward to playing the dutiful hostess tonight to keep the investors happy. She also admits that things are still shaky with Paul too, confiding in Susan that they haven't TITTNL™ since it all blew up.
SUSAN: Really? So you don't think he's forgiven you?
TERESE: Oh, what else would it be?
"I don't know!" Susan replies and asks if she's talked to Paul and Terese admits she hasn't as she is trying to avoid having the chat with him and instead wishes things were back to how they were before Vance appeared. Susan reassures her that Paul does love her and that things will get back on an even keel, she just needs to have patience.
(Later)
Outside Harold's, Bea is after advice on what she should sing at the investors dinner and while Finn is offering suggestions, Yashvi sits ignoring them as she is exchanging texts with Ned.
When Susan appears, Yashvi realises she's got schoolwork to do and heads off but not before thanking Bea again for being understanding about Ned.
YASHVI: It means everything.
After seeing the confused looks on their faces, Bea explains, "Ned and Yashvi are seeing each other," and with Yashvi having been the one to break the news rather than Ned.
"So, are you as cool as Yashvi thinks you are?" Susan asks when they are alone, Finn having decided it is time to make himself scarce to allow the ladies to chat! Bea acknowledges that she does want Ned and Yashvi to be happy...just not happy together!
BEA: Does that make me a bad person?
SUSAN: No, it makes you a normal person.
BEA: Define normal!
She reaffirms to her aunt that she is okay, yes Ned has moved on, but she's got her music and "everyone is happy." However as before when talking to Yashvi, the mouth is saying one thing, but the facial expression is saying the total opposite.
The Waterhole
Roxy sits alone looking at a photo of Vance on her phone before having a quick swig from the quarter bottle she has stuffed into her handbag.
Meanwhile, Paul isn't too thrilled that Pierce is joining the investors dinner although concedes that he does know how to "play the game."
What might throw a spanner in Terese's organisation is Roxy as she comes over to ask if Paul is actually looking for Vance. Thankfully his ringing phone comes to his rescue and he heads off to take it, leaving Terese offering an olive branch again to her niece (that she's still got a bed at #22) but the lass ignores her and heads back to the seat she was sitting on and takes another swig from the bottle.
TERESE: Roxy, come on, I'm trying to fix this.
Deciding enough is enough, Terese calls Gemma to express her concern about Roxy.
Lassiters Complex
It looks like Ned is about to tell Bea when Dipi pulls him aside for 'a word'. She lets him know that Yashvi told her about them being in a relationship and while she doesn't want to be "mamma bear" as the lass is thrilled and it's her first real relation, she wants him to know that Yashvi "isn't that savvy." "I don't plan on messing her around," Ned replies and all Dipi asks is "please be careful."
Once they've finished, he heads back to speak to Bea (who has heard their whole conversation) and right enough, he was going to tell her about them before Dipi called him over. Bea explains that she already knew and after he asks if she is okay with it, she points out that she can't complain given she was the one that ended things between them.
NED: That doesn't really answer my question.
BEA: Look, Ned, you don't have to worry about me, but you'd better not be using her because you'll break her heart and she doesn't deserve that.
Back Lane Bar
Leo isn't amused at Roxy turning up for work an hour late, particularly as they seem to be quite busy. To appease him, she offers to be the one to lock up. "I'm worried about you Rox," he says hoping that she will learn from his mistakes, like going on benders after Terese ended things.
ROXY: I'm nothing like you.
LEO: Just promise me you'll look after yourself.
She then starts moaning at him about the age of the clientele in the bar (too old for her liking despite Leo saying they're younger than him). Roxy then gets annoyed at her mum calling again, but Leo tells her to take the call. After what is probably an earful from her mum (we can't tell from the loud music in the club) Roxy pleads to let her explain.
Number 28
Finn decides to see if Bea really is cool with Yashvi and Ned dating, now that it's actually happened. "Finn, I know you care, but I can't talk about this right now," she tells him while gathering her stuff and going to leave. He apologises for being pushy, but she reassures him that he's been really patient with her over the whole Ned thing and "it's really nice of you." At that point she's just noticed that she has put her hand on his arm, before quickly pulling away and saying goodbye as she's got the gig to go to.
The Waterhole
Bea keeps the punters entertained while Paul tries to stop Terese from stressing as the investors haven't turned up yet. She sincerely thanks him for supporting her, given things aren't yet back to normal between them.
PAUL: Terese, I've always got your back.
The investors eventually arrive, with one of them being very pleased to hear Bea sing! Terese explains that having Bea perform is a Lassiters initiative to showcase local talent. Julianne doesn't want to hear any of that, she wants answers to why "our general manager dragged our name through the mud!"
Back Lane Bar
Roxy vents off to Leo over what her mum said to her following Terese's call. Leo tries to say Terese only made the call because she was "worried about you." The lass isn't listening though, instead downing shots, so Leo has a go at her for "crying into a bottle and blaming Terese." "You know, you're right; I need to do something about that," she tells him and from the look on her face, she already has a plan in mind!
ROXY: Let's see how Auntie T likes it when someone interferes with her life.
Number 22
Yashvi is over but despite it being early days, Ned feels the need for 'a chat!' He immediately clarifies that he does like her because she is funny, easy to spend time with and makes him laugh like nobody else can.
NED: I want to be honest with you. I'm still kinda finding my feet after Bea and you got a lot on, so, do you think we could maybe slow this down a little bit?
She isn't sure what that means, so Ned asks if they could "begin with a date?" "Yes, I'd love that," a relived Yashvi replies and they agree to make it the end of the week.
The Waterhole
The investors aren't happy and are giving Terese a bit of a hard time. Pierce steps in to say the only reason they know about the horse is because Terese said so, and to him, that is the general manager he'd want... "not one that turns a blind eye." That angle is something they had never thought of looking at before and even Julianne is forced to admit "that there's always two sides."
Just as Paul is backing up what Pierce says; Roxy enters the bar and ignores the table before heading to the bar and untying the top! Topless Roxy then picks up a tray of drinks and carries it to the VIP table.
ROXY: So, who ordered what Auntie T?
As quick as he can, Paul stands up and drags Roxy away from the VIP table as the investors sit stunned and gobsmacked!
