- David tells Xanthe that she'd make a great doctor.
- Sindi turns up with Andrea's baby and tells Toadie that he's the father.
- Toadie is upset and tells Sonya there's no proof that he's Hugo's father.
- Sonya decides to go away for a few days to see Lucas and Vanessa.
- Xanthe wants to help out as a hospital intern on the MS study.
- Finn as "Patrick" tells Clive that Karl has faked his data.
- Clive tells Karl that the study is being put on hold pending investigation.
Finn is happy to hear that the study has been suspended.
Karl is gutted that the study has been suspended. David tells Susan that the study could be re-started if the investigation comes out OK.
Xanthe comes over and gushes about helping out has an intern on the medical trial. Susan has to tell her that it's been suspended.
Toadie is holding Baby Hugo and chatting to Susan on the phone about the trial.
Sonya comes in unexpectedly and Toadie greets her.
SONYA: I just thought that the two of us should have a bit of a chat...is Sindi out?
TOADIE: She decided to get a room at The Retreat. She felt it was best. But Hugo's going to stay here until the DNA results come in...if that's OK?
He looks uncertain.
SONYA: Yeah. Yeah. (A pause) I know I said I'd stay in Daylesford until then...but I just hated being away from you.
She hugs him tightly.
SONYA: You know, Andrea's come between us before and...I just don't want to let that happy again.
Toadie is very relieved.
SONYA: So when do you get the results back?
TOADIE: Should be pretty soon.
SONYA: If he *is* yours...we'll deal with it, OK? Together.
TOADIE: Thank you.
SONYA: Yeah. I'm not going to pretend like it's going to be easy, but we're a team. And we need to be united in this, whatever happens.
Toadie nods gratefully.
SONYA: I also...I also want us to continue with IVF.
TOADIE:(surprised) Are you sure?
SONYA:(firmly) Yeah. I want a baby! And I'm supposed to start my hormone injections today. I don't want to waste a cycle. Who knows how long it's going to take us, OK? Let's...let's not wait.
TOADIE:(conflicted) OK, then.
TOADIE: Yeah, if this is what you want.
She hugs him. Toadie doesn't look so sure though.
Bea answers the phone to "Patrick". He tells her that he's had his settlement from the court and it's all over.
BEA: You're amazing, you know that? You're so strong.
PATRICK: Only because I have you.
BEA: Because we have each other.
Patrick suggests that Bea goes shopping for her wedding dress. Bea says she'll ask Yashvi and mentions the scavenger hunt.
Toadie and Sonya are having a coffee and chat to David. They are just off to the IVF clinic. David wishes them luck. On their way out, David calls Toadie back. He asks if Toadie is a bit uneasy and he admits he is because of the situation with Hugo. But he's not going to let Sonya down.
Bea and Yashvi are wandering round. They don't know anything about wedding dress shops. Yashvi tells her it's weird that "Patrick" doesn't want to meet Bea's family yet.
Karl tells Susan that the trial is being shut down permanently because it turns out that the data *is* wrong. Karl can't understand what's happened and says he must have go carried away somehow. Susan is upset.
Sonya has got her hormone injections and suggests that Toadie injects her, so that they're going through the process together. He is reluctant, but goes ahead.
Bea and Yashvi are chatting. Yashvi is determined to finish school and have a career in football.
Toadie pops in to catch up with Susan. She tells him that both she and Karl are upset about the termination of the MS trial. Susan is particularly upset as she allowed herself to hope after the results seemed so promising. Now it's been taken away.
SUSAN: I have to accept it. I'm never going to get better.
She starts to cry and Toadie hugs her. On the counter, the tea box camera is filming them.
Xanthe has come to hand in her application for work experience - she wants to change from a nursing internship to medicine. David is pleased to hear that she wants to be a doctor and advises her to put all of her energy into the UMAT exam.
Patrick/Finn has got a flyer about the scavenger hunt.
Yashvi and Bea are still hanging out. They talk about Bea's time on the streets and Yashvi says that she can put that behind her and have dreams now. Bea says she just wants to get married to Patrick now. But it seems that Bea just wants a normal family life as she's never had that before. Yashvi urges her to tell her family that she's engaged.
YASHVI: It's OK to ask for what you want, Bea.
BEA: Yeah...you're right. Alright. I'm going to do it. I'll tell him how I feel.
YASHVI: As soon as you get home?
BEA: Not a second later.
Patrick/Finn is looking at pictures of himself with Elly on his phone. Bea comes in, so he quickly turns it off.
Bea tells Patrick/Finn that she didn't get a wedding dress and wants Elly to come with her to help her choose one.
BEA: I didn't know where to start or what to do. I really want my sister there.
PATRICK/FINN: I can understand that. I know it's been hard on you, keeping things from your family.
BEA: Yeah, and I don't want to do it anymore. I want to tell Elly about our engagement.
PATRICK/FINN: You know what, let's scrap the idea of a wedding dress.
BEA: What do you mean?
PATRICK/FINN: Well, we both want a life together. So let's stop wasting time and let's elope!
BEA: But...my family and my friends...
PATRICK/FINN: Why don't we ask Elly to be a witness?
PATRICK/FINN: Yeah. We could say we're having a picnic or something and when she arrives we'll spring it on her that we're getting married! I've already found the perfect church for us. It's in Maryborough. It's a little bit of a drive, but it is gorgeous.
BEA: What about Karl and Susan?
PATRICK/FINN: We'll throw a party after the ceremony, announce our news then. You can invite anyone you like. Wait...
(He gets a ring out of his pocket)
BEA: Oh, it's beautiful!
PATRICK/FINN: And I have been doing my exercises...
He stands up.
PATRICK/FINN: So, I will be putting this on your finger after you've walked down the aisle in front of your sister. What do you say?
BEA: I say yes! That's everything I've ever wanted.
Susan, Karl, Sonya and Toadie are having a cup of tea together. They talk about the hormone injections and Toadie still looks a bit unsure.
Just then Toadie's phone pings.
TOADIE: It's David. He's got the DNA results.
PATRICK/FINN: When we first met, I liked you. But I wasn't sure you and I had a future.
PATRICK/FINN: I had a pretty intense relationship a while back. She hurt me. A lot. I didn't think I'd trust anyone again.
BEA: Why have you never mentioned her before?
PATRICK/FINN: Because I don't really like talking about it. And also...sometimes you remind me of her. I know that doesn't sound great, but I just needed you to know.
BEA: Well, who is she?
PATRICK/FINN: It doesn't matter. It was such a long time ago and she doesn't mean anything to me anymore. The longer I spend with you and the closer we get, the more and more I fall in love with you.
BEA: Well...thank you for teling me.
Over Bea's shoulder, Finn's face is somewhat murderous.
David is explaining that the DNA test is 99.9% conclusive and it would be highly unikely that it could be wrong.
DAVID: Have you talked through both outcomes and what that means for your family?
TOADIE: Pretty much...
SONYA: In a way, yeah...
DAVID: If you're having trouble agreeing, I'd suggest some counselling for you both.
TOADIE: We're old hands at that.
DAVID: So you know how beneficial it can be.
SONYA: Can we...just...get this over and done with, David? I really can't stand it any longer.
David holds out the envelope containing the result.
TOADIE: Could you open it and tell us, please?
David opens the envelope, then unfolds the results and reads them.
DAVID: The DNA is a familial match. Toadie, you are the father of this baby.
Toadie and Sonya take this in. On cue, little Hugo babbles "Da da!"
