The Retreat
Gary and Sheila look after Piper and Xanthe, whose drinks have been spiked. Terese comes in and Steph says that Terese needs to get Piper to the hospital. Steph tells Sheila to take Xanthe home and shouts at Gary to get the place cleaned up.
No.28
Elly and Bea are having tea when Susan comes home. She tells them that Karl is doing well and has decided to step back from the MRI scheme. Elly asks if Bea can sleep in Ben's room, but Bea says she's already booked and paid for an apartment. She'd rather have her own space. Elly suggests that she takes her out for dinner instead. Bea agrees.
Terese's car
Steph and Terese are taking a groggy Piper to the hospital. Piper says some harsh things to Terese about being over-controlling. She babbles about how much she loves Tyler. Terese tells Steph off, but Steph says she wasn't even there - Gary was managing the place.
The Retreat
Xanthe is still very groggy. Sheila apologises for inviting Freya to make up the numbers. Gary says the fault is his - he was in charge.
Waterhole
Bea is a bit cagey about where she is staying. Mark walks by and Elly introduces him to Bea. He comments on how alike they are. He asks after Karl, then goes to pick up his food.
When Mark has gone, Bea tells Elly that she thinks Elly has chemistry with Mark. Elly explains that she and Mark are just mates now. They agree to meet up again tomorrow, but Bea doesn't look very enthusiastic about the prospect.
Hospital
Piper is moaning to Terese that "everything hurts". She is still babbling about Tyler and Terese urges her to rest.
Terese tells Steph that Piper's antidepressants have reacted with the ADHD medication put in her drink. Steph apologises again, but Terese says the police will deal with Freya.
When Steph is leaving, Sheila and Gary are coming in. Gary starts to apologise to Steph. She tells him that his trial as manager is cancelled - she can't trust him anymore.
No.26, the following morning (Garden)
Sheila tells Gary that Steph will calm down and give him a second chance. Gary doesn't think so.
Hospital
Xanthe is visiting Piper who is feeling a bit better. Terese brings Piper a book. Piper tells Xanthe that she can definitely be a doctor if she studies hard enough.
When Xanthe has gone, Terese tells Piper that she hopes she isn't being too controlling. Piper insists that she likes Terese being involved in her life.
Elsewhere in the hospital, Susan is visiting Karl. Elly and Bea comes in, much to Karl's surprise. He comments on how alike Elly and Bea are. They chat and Bea looks a little uncomfortable at the family banter.
The Retreat
Steph is on the phone doing some damage control, offering guests complimentary massages to make up for the disturbance. Sheila comes in and tells Steph that she was the one at fault and she muscled in on Gary's job. She begs Steph to give her another chance.
Hospital
Xanthe comes to visit Karl. He thanks her for saving his life.
XANTHE: Listen, I've been thinking about my career.
KARL: If you're having second thoughts about nursing, then don't. I'm living proof you can do it. You remained incredibly calm and relaxed under extreme conditions.
XANTHE: Well, it's actually something that David said about the other day. You know, he made me think that I might have what it takes to be a leader. Do you think I could be a doctor?
KARL: Oh...
XANTHE: You know what? It's fine. Don't worry about it. Stupid idea.
KARL: No, no, no. It's not stupid at all. There are serious leadership roles in senior nursing.
XANTHE: Yeah, and that's why I wanted to become a nurse, to help people, but it never even crossed my mind that medicine could be an option.
KARL: You know, what happened out in the bush isn't typical. Being a doctor is more about reading and paperwork than most people realise.
XANTHE: Yeah, I guess.
KARL: Sure. It's a very difficult course to get in to.
XANTHE: Yeah, I mean, I'd need a super high ATAR and lots of maths.
KARL: Yeah, but if you're willing to do the work and if you really put your mind to it... Why don't you let the idea settle while you work out what you want. If you don't get into medicine straight out of high school, there are other pathways. But whether you choose medicine or nursing, you can do a lot of good, like you did for me.
They smile at each other.
Garden of No.22
Gary comes to see Terese. She is fielding some work calls, telling the callers that she is on leave. Gary asks after Piper and Terese says she'll be bringing her home from hospital later this morning. Gary has brought Terese over some curries he has cooked so she won't have to cook lunch. Terese accepts them gratefully and says what happened at the party wasn't Gary's fault. Terese is sorry to hear that Steph has ended Gary's trial as manager - she thinks he was doing well at it.
Outside Lassiter's
Elly is excited to show Bea around Erinsborough. Xanthe walks by and Elly introduces Bea. Xanthe comments on how alike they are. Elly and Xanthe chat and Elly says she's going to take Xanthe shopping to celebrate her 18th birthday. Xanthe tells Bea how amazing Elly is and gushes about what a wonderful teacher she is. Bea looks a bit awkward.
Garden of No. 22
Steph comes to see Gary. She's calmed down a bit and decided to give Gary another chance. Gary is delighted and hugs her. Sheila comes out and is delighted to hear the news. Gary tells her that he's always let people push him around too easily, so she can't be involved in The Retreat at all. Sheila looks downcast.
Hospital
Susan and Elly are visiting Karl. Susan thinks Bea is a little reserved, but Elly says she's probably just overwhelmed.
Bea's apartment
Bea comes in to her apartment.
BEA: I swear another five minutes and I would have screamed! I mean, I was happy to see her at the start, but her life is so perfect! Nothing's changed. Nothing. She gets a great life, great friends. And what do I get? Zero. Like it's always been.
There is someone lying on the bed.
BEA: I'm sorry. I shouldn't be dumping this on you.
We see who is lying on the bed - it's Finn Kelly!
FINN: You know you can tell me anything.
He motions to her to sit down on the bed with him.
BEA: Thanks. I love you.
They kiss.
FINN: I love you too. You are amazing.
He strokes her hair.
FINN: Now, tell me more about her.
