Registry Office
Courtney leads Paul up the steps of the registry office, but it's evident from his demeanour that he's having second thoughts.
PAUL: We're really gonna do this, hey?
COURTNEY: You asked me to elope. Where's the man who swept me off my feet at the penthouse?
PAUL: Back there.
COURTNEY: What's changed? Is it the fact that we're rushing it?
PAUL: ...
COURTNEY: Why don't we compromise? Still elope, but invite the kids?
PAUL: Yeah. Well, their support does mean everything to me.
COURTNEY: Well, then, call them. They should be here to celebrate with us.
Paul agrees, and goes to call his kids.
The Waterhole
Elly and Amy are filling Leo in on their vow to be man-free for 100 days.
LEO: Why?
AMY: Because they're an unnecessary distraction!
ELLY: And even when you do find a good one, usually there's some kind of drama involved. It's exhausting.
LEO: I reckon you're making too much of it. Dating's fun. It's a game.
ELLY: That's exactly the problem.
Amy and Leo simultaneously get texts from Paul, telling them he's getting married now and wants them to join him at the registry office. It will be a rush, Amy says, adding that Jimmy and David are Not In This Episodetm. Leo says he can't support the marriage, and explains to Amy that Paul admitted to him a few weeks ago that he's only with Courtney to punish Terese.
ELLY: It may have been like that at the start. But I've seen a genuine connection between the two of them. I think that relationships can change.
But Leo thinks it's a kneejerk reaction to something, and Amy wonders if it's all about the reconciliation of Gary and Terese. Amy decides to go to the registry office and talk to Paul.
AMY: We can't let him make this mistake.

Paige is hanging out with Piper while she revises for her exams. Piper admits it's hard to concentrate on work and to be there for Tyler over Hamish's death at the same time. Paige is sure he understands, but Piper's worried Tyler is trying to keep her out of things so she can focus on her studies. Piper asks after Mark and how he is dealing with things.
PAIGE: Mark's Mark - distant. But that's the way he acts when he's got stuff going on, and I'm used to it. He'll talk to me when he's ready.
Paige goes off to feed Gabe, just as Tyler arrives. Piper admits to him that she's been struggling to sleep; he asks if she's been having bad dreams, like after the backpackers' crash. She says she's just stressed out, but is finding ways to relax - such as reading the book she got last week ('The Girls'). She tells him about how all her favourite passages have been highlighted by the previous owner.
TYLER: What are the chances?
PIPER: I know, right? So I've decided it must be a middle-aged woman with three cats.
Piper asks how Tyler's doing; he says he's fine.
PIPER: You don't have to hide what you're going through from me, Ty. The last few months have been full on, okay - anything but fine.
TYLER: I'm sure I'll get through it.
PIPER: You know, Paige told me that Mark's not talking about it either. And she knows it's how he deals with things. But you and I - we're different, okay? And I don't want you thinking that just because of my exams, that I'm not here for you. Because you can talk to me about anything, okay?
TYLER: Yeah. I know.

Karl is examining Kirsha's ears to gauge her progress, and tells Yashvi, Dipi and Shane that there's no sign of improvement. But he says every patient is different, and that he'll keep administering the oral steroids. Shane mentions that Kirsha isn't sleeping well, and Karl says that anxiety is a side-effect of the oral steroids - which is why he wanted to give her injections instead.
Yashvi has been typing some of what Karl has been saying on her phone and showing it to Kirsha. When she sees the word 'injections', Kirsha objects loudly, declaring that she doesn't want needles. But Shane mimes something to the effect that it will help her sleep, and Karl resolves to come back later to do the injection.
As Dipi shows Karl out, she says that Kirsha is freaking out, and asks if they can do anything else to help. Karl advises that keeping her busy is the best strategy, to take her mind off things.
Harold's Café
Dipi has rounded up Ben, Xanthe, Toadie, Sonya and Steph in a bid to help Kirsha. She explains that Kirsha is terrified of getting steroid injections, and wants them all to come round to the house and help distract her until Karl comes back.

Tyler is home alone when Detective Graves turns up. Tyler looks nervous, but Graves asks to come in, promising it won't take long.
TYLER: Should I call my lawyer?
GRAVES: Only if you want to. But you'll be wasting his time and your money. It's nothing that official.
TYLER: Okay...
GRAVES: Is Mark around?
TYLER: No.
GRAVES: Pity. He might've been able to clear up something for me. I guess you'll do. So, IT have finally cracked your father's computer; they're still going through the contents. But there's this odd file in there on Mark (...) He wrote that Mark covered up evidence against Sonya Rebecchi a few months ago. This is regarding the accident at the backpackers'. It's one of a list of grievances against Mark. So I was wondering if your dad ever said anything to you about it?
TYLER: He made up a lot of stuff about Mark. Even put in that fake harassment claim.
GRAVES: True.
TYLER: He really had it in for him. And besides, Sonya went to court for that accident anyway.
GRAVES: Yeah, but still. A constable hiding evidence is a very serious matter.
TYLER: ...
GRAVES: ... But you're right. It could be nothing. I thought it was worth flagging with you, though.
TYLER: Sure.
GRAVES: Thanks for your time.
Tyler looks nervous as Graves leaves.
Registry Office
Amy arrives outside, and Paul explains that Courtney has gone to buy some flowers for the ceremony.
PAUL: Where are the others?
AMY: They're not coming.
PAUL: Oh... Oh, well, at least you're here.
AMY: Leo told me that your relationship with Courtney isn't real.
PAUL: Yeah, well, things have changed.
AMY: But is that really what you want?
PAUL: Yes, of course it is!
AMY: You know, before I came to Erinsborough, all I got told was how heartless you were. That's why I avoided you for so many years. But when I finally got to know who you were, I realised you have the biggest heart. And so much love to share.
PAUL: Glad someone noticed!
AMY: But sometimes that love can be poisonous.
PAUL: You know what, Amy? I don't have time for this pop psychology. I'm about to get married.
AMY: Because you can't be with Terese!
PAUL: I'm marrying Courtney because she makes me happy. Now, if you can't respect that, I'd prefer you leave.
AMY: Please don't go through with this. It's not fair on you, and it's not fair on Courtney.
The Shed
Aaron is helping Mark (whom he calls 'Robocop') with his weight-training regime. Aaron explains he's going to have to hire someone for the gym now Mishti has decided to rejoin the police.
Aaron leaves to take a call, just as Tyler arrives to tell Mark about his visit from Graves. He explains about the document from Hamish's computer which accuses Mark of covering up evidence for Sonya.
MARK: How did he know that?
TYLER: ... I told him.
MARK: What?! Why?!
TYLER: I was angry at you, and Hamish caught me at the wrong time. And if they've found that, it won't be long before they work out what else you've done!

Mark insists this isn't Tyler's fault; it was his own choice to cover up the evidence, and he adds that if the police had any real evidence about Sonya's case they'd be talking to him. Tyler's more concerned about the gnome, however. Mark says nobody saw him tampering with it.
MARK: Listen - too many times I haven't been there for you, with Dad and with Hamish. And I wish I was, because then maybe none of this would've happened. But now, I'm here, okay? And I will do anything to keep you out of jail. Because you don't belong there. I just want you to stay strong.
Mark hugs Tyler.
Registry Office
Courtney rejoins Paul outside the office, and asks where his kids are.
PAUL: None of them are coming. Maybe we should postpone the wedding.
COURTNEY: Postpone, or not have it at all? Look, my dad's not here, but they're not the ones getting married - we are.
PAUL: Courtney, why did you say yes when I asked you to elope?
COURTNEY: We're a good match!
PAUL: Yeah, but don't you want more? I mean, don't you want a grand romance?
COURTNEY: Romance is overrated! Real relationships are grown over time.
PAUL: Yes, I know. But there's got to be more to it when you marry someone.
COURTNEY: I dunno. You've been here before - how were your other marriages?
PAUL: They started off on a high of love and passion, and then all ended up in a ditch. Mostly dug by me.
COURTNEY: All of them?
PAUL: Well, except Gail. I mean, that started out as a marriage of convenience, and we grew to love each other over time.
COURTNEY: See? That proves my point! We're going into this with zero expectations, and we may end up loving each other too.
PAUL: And what if we don't? Courtney, you're young - and I don't want you to miss out on a better future.
COURTNEY: Yes, I am young. But I am also realistic, and I am sick of being alone. Are you happy being alone?
PAUL: ... No. No, I hate it.
COURTNEY: Well, then, don't be.

Dipi's plan to distract Kirsha is in full swing. Toadie tries to excite her with the prospect of a 'doggy movie marathon', and Sonya tries to tell her about the Christmas party - as well as randomly giving her a bonsai tree. But Kirsha can't hear any of this, and starts to look anxious - particularly when Ben and Xanthe arrive, crowding her further.
Sensing that Kirsha is struggling with all the attention, Shane intervenes, and tells everyone to leave! Xanthe asks to stay as she's brought a jigsaw for Kirsha. Dipi apologises as the others all file out, and a worried-looking Kirsha hugs Shane.

Tyler is crying on the sofa, when Piper arrives. She hugs him and asks what's wrong.
TYLER: I didn't want... you and Mark...
PIPER: Hey, Ty, whatever it is, you can tell me, okay? I'm here for you.
TYLER: I've done something, okay? And it's made everything so much worse.
PIPER: What do you mean?
TYLER: You've got your exams. I don't want to -
PIPER: Tyler, don't - stop. Don't worry about my exams, okay? You are more important. What is it?
TYLER: There's stuff that happened the night Hamish died, that I didn't tell you about.
PIPER: Okay, then tell me.

In the garden, Dipi tells Shane off for having kicked everyone out of the house, saying it was rude. Shane says that Kirsha was overwhelmed and needed them to leave.
SHANE: Kirsha's never been happy with being the centre of attention, even before she lost her hearing. She just doesn't like being surrounded by people all the time.
DIPI: But I thought that's what she needed.
SHANE: No. That's what you'd need.
DIPI: I've been so focused on helping her, I didn't even stop to think what she would want.
SHANE: Your heart was in the right place - that's why we all love you.
DIPI: I feel terrible.
SHANE: No, you feel helpless. And it's not just about Kirsha. There's so much going on lately that you can't control - you were just trying to make a positive difference.
At this point, Xanthe emerges, saying that Karl has arrived to give Kirsha her injections. Kirsha says she's ready. We enter an injection montage, as Shane, Dipi and Xanthe support Kirsha while Karl administers the jabs.

Tyler is telling Piper about having whacked Hamish with the gnome, and how much he regrets it. Piper reminds him that Hamish was conscious when Tyler left; he's not responsible, and the police will find Louise soon. They hug again.
Paige and Mark come in - Paige is suggesting that she and Gabe come over later tonight to help Mark unwind. She asks if Mark is okay with Gabe sleeping in the bed next to them (something Jack expressly said he was unhappy with recently) and he says yes. Mark asks if Jack will be okay with it - Paige simply says yes.
Piper kisses Tyler and heads off to resume her studies, telling him she loves him and to call if he needs her. Paige leaves temporarily with Piper. Tyler tells Mark that he's told Piper what happened between him and Hamish on the night he died.
TYLER: She doesn't know what you did with the gnome, but... everything else.
MARK: ...
TYLER: Bro, the guilt has just been eating me. And you were doing crazy things to risk your job.
MARK: I did it for you.
TYLER: I know, but I have to admit, it's starting to scare me.Paige comes back in, asking what takeaway they'd like tonight, and Mark snaps at her, before apologising and telling her to choose. Paige leaves again.
TYLER: Look at you. You're not yourself. And it's affecting things between you and Paige.
MARK: I can't change what's happened. What do you want me to do?
TYLER: I don't know. But talking to Piper helped me. So maybe you should do the same with Paige.
Lassiter's Complex
Tim Collins accosts Courtney in her wedding dress outside Harold's.
TIM COLLINS: You did it? You actually went through with this ridiculous marriage.
COURTNEY: ... I did. I am the new Mrs Robinson.
She shows off the ring on her finger.
TIM COLLINS: I honestly thought this was one of your attention-seeking scams.
COURTNEY: There it is - that unwavering belief that you have in me (!)
TIM COLLINS: No, you brought my distrust upon yourself.
COURTNEY: It was the only option, considering you've never actually trusted me.
TIM COLLINS: Of all the stupid things you have done, Courtney! What do you think people are gonna think when they find out that my daughter has married Paul Robinson?
COURTNEY: They can think what they want, because I don't care. I am not your daughter any more. I am Paul's wife, and if you cannot handle that, stay out of my life!
TIM COLLINS: ... I don't even know who you are any more.
He walks off, leaving Courtney looking sad.
The Waterhole
Courtney is bragging to Amy, Elly, Leo, Toadie, Sonya and Steph about how romantic the wedding was. Amy seems surprised that they've actually gone through with it, and asks where Paul is - Courtney says he's in The Citytm, sorting out the hotel for the first leg of their honeymoon. Everyone else looks awkward, but Elly eventually proposes a toast, and they all offer strained congratulations!

Gabe is in a cot in Mark's room, and Paige gets into bed next to a very quiet Mark. Paige encourages him to talk to her; he admits there's some 'stuff' going on with Hamish and Tyler, and that he's a bit worried.
MARK: But there's a bit more to it... When Sonya crashed into the backpackers', I covered up some evidence that she was involved. And my bosses are close to finding out.
PAIGE: Why would you do that?
MARK: Because I thought I loved her.
PAIGE: ... Wow.
MARK: And I genuinely thought that she was innocent. I'm sorry I haven't told you until now. But I didn't think that she deserved to be in any trouble.
PAIGE: ... So you loved Sonya enough to cover up evidence, but what about me? What about our wedding day? You didn't love me enough to hold off arresting me?
MARK: That was different.
PAIGE: Because I deserved it and she didn't?!
MARK: Paige, I was in a difficult position!
PAIGE: You weren't even with her, and you still broke the law for her!
MARK: Okay, let me explain. I had to give Sonya the benefit of the doubt - she's a decent person!
PAIGE: Oh my god.
MARK: That's not what I meant!
But a furious Paige is already climbing out of bed and retrieving Gabe from the cot. Mark begs her not to leave, but Paige simply walks out with the baby.
