Erinsborough Hospital
Vanessa stands beside baby Patrick. When Rhys enters she tells him she wants to pick him up and take him home. Rhys tells her if Patrick is half as tough as his mum he'll be fine. Rhys tells Vanessa that they're going to give Patrick more medication and then an electrical cardioversion where they use an electric current to reset his heart rhythm. Vanessa bursts into tears and asks for the worst case scenario. Rhys says surgeries are always high risk but they have great surgeons who operate on babies every day.
Number 32
Lucas finds one of Patrick's socks. He rummages through the pile of clothing, throwing baskets around until he finds the other sock. He holds Patrick's socks and sits on the sofa.
Erinsborough Hospital
Vanessa asks what Patrick's life will be once he pulls through. Rhys says he'll need regular checkups and will have to avoid high impact sports. Other than that he'll be fine, a regular kid.
VANESSA: He'll never be just a regular kid to me.
Erinsborough Hospital (Next day)
Vanessa thinks the medication is working, and asks Lucas to talk to Patrick. Lucas tells Rhys he could be wrong about Patrick. Rhys wants to do some tests on Patrick to see how he's responding to the medication, but Lucas refuses to cart Patrick all over the hospital. He asks for a second opinion, and wants Karl or someone else to do it, not Rhys. Rhys says it isn't necessary, but Lucas says it's his choice.
LUCAS: Why should we trust him? Someone who cheated their way into the surgeons program? Go on, deny it! We all know it's true. You think you're god's gift but you can't even get the diagnosis right.
VANESSA: Lucas, please!
LUCAS: I want another opinion.
Rhys says they can consult as many doctor's as they want, and leaves to get someone else. Lucas tells Vanessa that this must be a mistake.

Tash and Chris leave Grease Monkeys and head across the road to the garage. They find the garage is locked and wonder if Lucas is at the hospital still. Chris calls Lucas to check if everything is alright while Tash opens up the garage. Chris tells Lucas that he'll manage without him today. After hanging up, Chris tells Tash how busy he'll be today, Ajay's car is meant to be ready in an hour and he hasn't even started on that. He says Lucas has become a new dad and he doesn't want to stress him out.
TASH: I would stay and help but, you know... nails
Chris says that is fine. Tash puts the key to the garage in Chris's back pocket and leaves for work.
Charlie's
Tash arrives to find that Sheila has decorated the bar for the Australian Open. Tash had said to Sheila not to start decorating until she got there. Sheila decided to get started without her, and got her own decorations instead of the ones that Tash had picked out. Sheila's are more fun. Sheila insists she knows what the people around here want, and shows off the menus that she made as well. Tash thinks she shouldn't have hand written them, and shouldn't have made up her own cocktails as Tash already had those planned. Sheila also tells Tash that the staff will serve drinks on a tennis racket as a bit of fun. Tash hates the idea, but Sheila thinks this will be the best event Charlie's has ever had.
(Later)
Tash is about to set up the Wii tennis tournament, but Sheila has put the console out the back. Sheila says that customers don't want video games bleeping all over the place. Tash says that Andrew loves the idea and is about to call him to sort this out.
SHEILA: You call your boss on one of his few days off to complain that the new girl isn't doing what she's told.
TASH: Girl?
SHEILA: Besides you're not really my superior, are you? We're more or less equals.
TASH: But I got you this job so you can't just waltz in here and take over.
SHEILA: I'm not taking over
TASH: You changed all my plans!
Sheila says she's giving Tash the benefit of her experience. Tash insists they're going ahead with the tournament.

Ajay wonders when his car will be ready. Chris says Ajay needs his timing belt checked, and it will be an extra hour or two. Just then another car arrives, Chris shouts he'll be with him in a second, just when the phone starts ringing.
Erinsborough Hospital
Vanessa joins Lucas who is sitting outside the hospital. Vanessa says that Rhys is trying to help, but Lucas doesn't trust him.
VANESSA: He knows what he's talking about and he is getting a second opinion.
LUCAS: If it was any other doctor, you would be right there with me. No, because it's Rhys, he has to be right.
VANESSA: This has nothing to do with me and Rhys.
LUCAS: It has everything to do with you and Rhys.
VANESSA: You're the one in the wrong here, you're making this about us when you should focusing on Patrick.
LUCAS: No I'm the only one thinking straight here. You need to start putting your son first and stop worrying about Rhys.
VANESSA: You are way out of line.
LUCAS: Truth hurts, does it?
Vanessa walks away.
Fitzgerald Motors
Aidan visits Chris who is busy at work. Aidan says he's here to lend a hand, he can move the cars for Chris and answer the phone and meet and greet the customers. Chris says he's fine, the same way that Aidan is always fine. As the phone rings Aidan is about to answer it when Chris beats him to it. It's Ajay, Chris tells him the car will be ready in 20 minutes. Aidan offers to get Chris some food, slapping Chris on the backside before leaving.
Charlie's Exterior
Sheila finds Tash watching over a table tennis game she set up, since the Wii controllers suddenly went missing. Sheila corrects Tash's scoring of table tennis, saying she used to be state champion. She drags Tash away and tells Tash they have to call this off.
SHEILA: The bar is half empty.
TASH: Well then maybe you should go in and serve the half that's full.
Sheila says that the place needs to be buzzing in order for it to get a good reputation. Tash says that places get a good reputation when people have fun and enjoy themselves. Paul arrives and asks why the customers are outside, and why Sheila is wearing an apron. Sheila says she works there and Andrew hired her.
SHEILA: Oh come on moneybags. It's not like I'll be chasing you around the bar, although I heard you do quite like that sort of thing.
Tash tells Paul she's running a table tennis comp with free drinks as prizes. Paul likes the idea because physical exercise makes them thirsty.

Aidan arrives with food for Chris, but Chris says he's fine. The phone rings and Aidan grabs the phone before Chris gets to it. Aidan tells the customer that they're busy today but he can fit him in tomorrow. Chris tells Aidan he can deal with it himself. Aidan tells Chris to concentrate on Ajay's car for now and he will deal with any distractions.
Erinsborough Hospital
Lucas apologises for what he said to Vanessa, he was out of line.
VANESSA: Getting Rhys offside and yelling at me isn't helping. I am angry too, and scared, I've never been more scared in my whole life, but I'm trying to keep it together for Patrick's sake. Babies soak up the energy of the people around them; he needs us to stick together.
LUCAS: I know that. I guess I just needed someone to blame .
VANESSA: This isn't anyone's fault.
Rhys arrives, he's had another doctor check and they've confirmed Rhys' diagnosis. Lucas wonders what the cause could be, Rhys doesn't know, some think it's environmental, others think it's genetic. Vanessa can check with her mum but she doesn't think her family has a history of heart problems. Lucas's family does, that's how his father died. Rhys says it could be unrelated. Lucas sits down, while Vanessa starts crying.
Charlie's
Tash brings the customers from the table tennis game to the bar to get some drinks. Tash tells Sheila that she doesn't want to argue with her, they should be working together.
SHEILA: Healthy discussion often leads to good ideas Natasha. Don't feel bad about you being difficult.
TASH: I don't feel bad. I'm not the one... so you're not mad.
SHEILA: Actually I'm impressed. You've got guts, you speak your mind, you follow through, you don't let anyone stand in your way, I like that. Actually you're quite a bit like me.
TASH: No I'm not
SHEILA: When I was your age I would have done exactly the same thing.
TASH: So what, we're both stubborn, that doesn't make us the same.
PAUL: Come on less chat, more money in the tills, thanks ladies. And listen when you finish with these customers can you have a word with the chef. Chicken curry was way too spicy, it nearly blew my head off.
SHEILA AND TASH (together): Pity it didn't
SHEILA: Snap! Twins!
Sheila holds up her pinky but Tash just looks at her.
Erinsborough Hospital
Lucas stands by Patrick's side. Lucas apologises to Vanessa, he thinks he passed it on. Vanessa says they don't know either way, there's no point beating himself up about it.
VANESSA: I have to believe that this is going to work out and I need you to believe it too. If we don't, then it means that we've given up, and why should Patrick keep fighting if his own parents have given up on him. I'm going to be strong for my son, I'll do it alone if I have to but it will be a hell of a lot easier if you were there with me.
LUCAS: I can do that.
VANESSA: Together.
LUCAS: Together.

AIDAN: Not this again!
CHRIS: I just wanted to help you. Isn't that what boyfriends do?
AIDAN: I thought we dealt with this.
CHRIS: No, no we stopped talking about it.
AIDAN: So why are we starting again?
CHRIS: So you can help me, but I can't help you. What kind of relationship is that?
AIDAN: So this is a relationship crisis, is it?
CHRIS: It always was. And you're making it one sided.
AIDAN: Well I'm sorry that I like doing nice things for you.
CHRIS: And I love that you did that, but it's messed up that you won't let me do the same for you.
AIDAN: So I'm messed up, fine
CHRIS: No, that's not what I'm said. It's like you're practically allergic to letting me help you.
AIDAN: You are starting a fight over nothing.
CHRIS: I'm not fighting, I just want to understand.
AIDAN: I am so sick of this Chris, can we just not talk about it.
CHRIS: No we need to talk about it. I am so sick of not discussing stuff because you don't want to.
AIDAN: Thanks, thanks for ruining a great afternoon.
CHRIS: Oh don't...
AIDAN: You need to learn to accept things and move on. You coming to soccer or not?
Chris doesn't respond, so Aidan walks off.
