- Scotty turning up at the hospital looking for his girl.
- Georgia picking up that something is wrong with Lucas/Vanessa's baby.
Rhys pops into the room to tell Lucas/Vanessa they need to run a few more tests on bubs and he totally plays down on how concerned Georgia was about it when talking to them. Vanessa pops bubs into a cot and he's wheeled away.
Georgia is telling Aidan about what she found when examining bubs. He gives her some tips on how to take her mind off worrying about it when he can see how concerned she is.
Karl delivers Sonya some good news - she's being discharged from hospital but is under orders to rest. Sonya goes to get dressed and Toadie tries to slow her progress but she's insistent on getting ready so when Karl has finished some final tests on Nell, they can leave straight away.
It's now obvious why Toadie wanted to slow Sonya down - the house is like a tip! Toadie gives Cal the heads up they are on their way home and orders him to tidy up.
Toad reports back that Cal is looking forward to seeing his mum!
Cal begs Kyle into helping him clean up when he popped into get the keys for the nursery.
Lucas wonders to Vanessa as they take a walk outside if she thought there was something up with Rhys but she doesn't think so and tells him to relax.
Karl concludes with Rhys' diagnosis of bubs' symptoms and orders that an x- ray be taken.
Vanessa and Lucas are still trying to find a name for bubs and she likes the one he comes up with - Patrick.
Next up for Patrick is and ECG... an urgent one!
Vanessa and Lucas discuss what Patrick will be like when he grows up. Lucas wants him to be a racing driver and Vanessa a chef!
Scotty turns up as arranged to meet Georgia and wants them to get something to eat from a posh place but she isn't up for that and chats to him about Patrick (but not mentioning names). He thinks she should be used to it and suggests if she can't then perhaps it's time to change career! She isn't amused at him saying that especially when he then tries to compare babies to lambs on the farm!!
There is still no news yet about Patrick and Karl asks if Rhys has mentioned anything to the parents yet but he doesn't want to say anything until he's 100% certain. Just at that, a nurse delivers him the results and they results confirm its Ebstein's. Karl tells him that he must let Vanessa/Lucas know.
The house is looking very presentable now but they discover a problem - Kyle has taken the wrong bag to the Salvo's! He was meant to take the bag containing Toadie's old clothes but Cal handed him the one with Nell's things, so Kyle departs to go raid the bin and try and get back!
Karl gives Rhys a bit of a pep talk before he goes to deliver the news to Vanessa/Lucas, choosing not to accept Karl's offer of being the one to tell them the bad news. Just as he goes to walk towards them, he returns and tells Karl that he wants to re- run the ECG and email the news to a specialist, rejecting Karl's claim that he's bottling it, he wants make sure it is totally right before he breaks the bad news to them.
Scotty tries to take Georgia's mind off things by boring her, sorry telling her about the latest news from home. She then spots Aidan and rushes off to see if there is news and is told that subject to confirmation it looks like Ebstein's anomaly. Scotty joins them and still can't get it as to why Georgia is upset and in the end she tells him to go get something to eat himself.
Outside the community centre
Georgia spots Kyle trying to raid the Salvo's bin and explains why he's doing it and that Cal has been tidying up the house too for Sonya's impending return. She lends a hand and manages to retrieve the bag from the bin much to his relief. He spots that she's not her usual self but she rejects the chance to talk about it with him but does appreciate the plaudits he is telling her (that she's going a great job etc).
It's now Kate's turn to spot that Georgia isn't her usual self when she enters the bar. Georgia puts it down to Scotty woes/him not picking up that she was upset unlike Kyle who spotted something was up straight away/said all the right things to her.
Toadie, Sonya and Nell return home and are surprised at how clean the house is! Sonya thinks that they should bath Nell and change her but Cal stalls them by suggesting they have a cuppa and immediately both are very suspicious! She is insistent on that happening but Cal yells "no" and just at that Kyle returns with the missing clothes and heads to the laundry to put them on. Cal denies anything is going on, and blames it just on Kyle doing godfather things!
TOADIE: It's probably best we don't know!
The specialist has confirmed that Patrick has Ebstein's and Rhys again rejects Karl's offer to tell them even though "it will kill her." Karl suggests emphasising the positives and that there are options, but Rhys replies that he wouldn't want his kid going through them!
Lucas/Vanessa come to pick up Patrick up and Rhys leads them into a room to chat. He explains to them that they discovered bubs has an irregular heartbeat, so they had to run some extra tests, where they found that he has some abnormalities that needed exploring.
LUCAS: What sort of abnormalities?
RHYS: Your baby has a condition called Ebstein's anomaly. Basically this means that one of the valves on the right hand side of the heart isn't working properly. We need to do more tests but it's also likely that there is a connection between his left and right atrium.
LUCAS: What does that mean?
RHYS: It means a hole in the heart.
Lucas and Vanessa are gobsmacked as Rhys begins telling them about treatments including open heart surgery. "I'm sorry," he tells the stunned parents as Lucas goes to console the crying Vanessa.
Karl pulls Rhys back from going to talk to Lucas/Vanessa to allow the news to sink in. Rhys ignores the advice and goes to tell Lucas to ask if he's got any questions but Karl was right, Lucas at least isn't ready for that yet.
Tomorrow on Neighbours
