Number 24
Priya returns home to find Ajay asleep on the couch. She puts her bag on a table and finds a card Ajay has written which reads 'For Mum. (hands off Rani!) Ajay x'
Priya puts the blanket over Ajay and turns off the TV. She then sits beside him and watches him sleep.
Charlie's
Tash and Andrew are preparing the entertainment for customers during the Melbourne Cup tomorrow (although why they're leaving it until the night before is beyond me.) Tash suggests she'll do the Phantom Call for the race, she's happy to wing it, noting how well she did on trivia night. Andrew agrees. For a moment, Andrew gets a sudden pain in his head, which we hear as a sudden dramatic rise in music (works quite nicely.) They still need to sort out a band, Tash will send out texts to find a 'lame uni band' because Paul will probably find out if she tries to organise it on facebook.
Andrew then starts to hear jingling noises in his head, causing him to drop his glass. Tash tells Andrew to go home and sleep, she'll sort everything out.
Harold's (next day)
Susan approaches Priya, and hopes she didn't make her feel uncomfortable last night, it's not a subject she can be objective about. Priya appreciates Susan's advice and tells her she's going to make it work with Ajay. Susan thinks Priya should tell Ajay. Priya says the problem isn't Ajay, or them as a couple, it's just her problem, and so she needs to sort it out herself. Susan thinks there are other issues that need to be resolved, and that needs to come from a place of honesty. Priya says she can't ever tell Ajay. Susan wishes her good luck.
Charlie's
Paul arrives and starts nagging Andrew about the organisation of the Melbourne Cup event. He points out some VIP guests from the hotel, and wants Andrew to ensure that they're happy when Paul returns later. Andrew serves Rhys and Kate at the bar, when Tash enters, wearing a bright pink jockey uniform and carrying a horsewhip.
PAUL: Is this your idea of entertainment?
TASH: Well I didn't get any complaints walking across the complex.
Tash starts the event, and the crowd enjoy it. As Paul leaves he gives Andrew a thumbs up.
Charlie's Exterior
Tash is handing out tickets for the sweep, offering some to Kate and Rhys. Andrew walks out with some rubbish.
ANDREW: Hey, what happened to the whip?
TASH: Some people were getting the wrong impression.
Andrew laughs and takes the rubbish around the back. While Tash gives Rhys a ticket they hear a thud from around the corner. Tash goes around to check, and finds Andrew lying on the ground, having a seizure. She runs around to get help from Rhys, but is too late as Paul has joined Kate and Rhys at the table. Tash runs back to Andrew, using her jacket to support his head.
(Later)
Andrew is sitting up, claiming he's fine. He says he hasn't been feeling right for about a week, since he changed the batch of meds. Tash says they should go and see Aidan. Andrew tells her he blackmailed Aidan to keep quiet and now Aidan wants nothing to do with him. Andrew says he's going to take more pills. Tash tells him how stupid he's being, he can't mess with these things, he needs to see a doctor. He refuses to go to a doctor, saying it's his problem. Tash gives in, she knows Andrew will do what he wants anyway.
Number 24
Priya is making food for Diwali when Rani and Ajay arrive. Rani is really keen to help, but Ajay tells her to clean her room first. Ajay wonders why Priya is going to all this effort as she never makes a fuss for Diwali. Priya apologises if she upset him yesterday. Ajay's concerned that something is wrong, Priya says it's down to work and the move, and she just needs to slow down. Ajay laughs that cooking a massive feast for the family isn't slowing down. They say they love each other and kiss.
Ramsay Street
Rani and Priya leave to go shopping when they see Callum approaching. Rani runs over to speak to Callum, telling him how excited she is about Diwali.
CALLUM: You are such a princess
RANI: Because I like food?
CALLUM: No because you like anything where you get to buy new clothes
RANI: Yeah, probably!
CALLUM: So what kind of food are we talking about here?
RANI: All different types of cakes and sweets?
CALLUM: And can anybody eat it or...
RANI: Not really. You'd have to convert to Hinduism first
CALLUM: Oh right
RANI: Yeah there's this whole big ceremony with fire and people shaving their heads
CALLUM: What?! Just for a few cakes
RANI: No of course not. Anyone can eat the cakes you idiot. That's the whole idea. Sharing with your friends
CALLUM: I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to mess with your friends like that
RANI: Pretty sure you are!
Number 24
We have an 'unpacking the shopping' montage!
Ajay admires the sari that Rani bought, saying Priya had one just like it. As Rani and Ajay continue to joke around, Priya gets a text from Paul, asking to meet in the foyer in 30 minutes.
Number 26
Rani brings around her sari to show Harley. He doesn't seem enthused, and says it looks like a religious thing and he didn't realise she was religious. Rani sheepishly puts the sari away and says it's more of a mum and dad thing. Harley tells Rani that he's helping Kyle make Ajay's shed and wants to take Rani to see the it. Rani says she can't come just now, she's supposed to do 'lame Diwali stuff all afternoon', but then changes her mind and decides to go and see the shed, leaving her bag with her sari there.
Erinsborough Hospital
Tash rushes to Aidan, who's busy at work, and tells him that Andrew had another seizure. Aidan insists Andrew has to come in, he could have a fall or swallow his tongue. He has no idea the risks he's taking.
Lassiter's Complex
Harley and Rani approach Sophie and Calum who are sitting outside Harold's. When Sophie asks what they've been up to, Harley says not much. Ajay calls over, saying he's about to make some Diwali food this afternoon and wonders if Rani would like to help her out, inviting Rani's friends to help too. Rani says she's busy, and tells him to go. As Ajay leaves, Sophie and Callum ask Rani questions about why she doesn't want to prepare for Diwali, Callum points out she was looking forward to it earlier. Harley thought Rani said it was lame, Rani says it is, and quickly suggests she and Harley go to the lake. As they leave, Callum tells Sophie that Rani has done a complete 180. He says that Harley is changing her.
Charlie's
Tash is looking at epilepsy posters, but hides them in her bag when Chris and Aidan enter. Chris notes that Summer seems happier than she's been in ages, planning her trip. As they chat, Andrew finds the posters in Tash's bag. Aidan rushes over to talk to Andrew, explaining that Tash was upset after seeing him having a seizure.
AIDAN: Do you have any idea what it's like for somebody to witness something like that? She has no medical training.
ANDREW: She doesn't have to worry.
AIDAN: How can she not? You filmed a seizure, how did you feel when you saw yourself fitting? You can't keep putting your friends in that position, it's not fair. It's one thing for me to be covering for you, which is bad enough, but Tash, it's eating her up. Keeping this thing a secret isn't just hurting you anymore, it's hurting her.
(Later)
Andrew shows Tash the posters. He tells her it's not fair her putting all this on her. The meds aren't working, he doesn't know what he's doing. He's going to do the test at the hospital, but he won't tell Paul anything. Tash tells him that if he's in hospital for one night or two nights then he needs to tell Paul the truth.
