- Harold witnessing Troy and Sonya having an intimate moment with each other.
Lassiters Complex
Sonya and Troy make their way to Charlie's for a breakfast date with Callum (she arranged it) and he promises to hold off on the war stories!
And at the other side of the complex, Toadie escorts Callum towards Charlie's too with the young lad very eager not to be late.
Charlie's
With brekkie finished, Callum laps up Troy's stories but not about the war but of a trip to somewhere in Spain and he watches on as Sonya and Troy banter with each other about paella (how it's pronounced and the fact he makes a mean veggie one) and Cal asks if he will make one this week. Troy agrees to make the paella for lunch as he needs to head off to do an army course (field training), which Cal is very keen to go with him but Troy asks that he squares it with Toadie first.
Lucas comes over to chat with Sonya after Callum and Troy head off to play darts. He remarks that the pair of them are getting on well before turning the conversation round to how Toadie is dealing with it all. "It's weird because everything is changing so fast," Sonya replies and isn't sure whether that is a good thing or not.
Lassiters Complex
Toadie corners Harold with a list of things he should get for celebrating is wedding but Harold (and Carolyn) wishes something more intimate. After a bit of negotiation, Toadie finally relents to do things Harold's way, although he does appreciate the help Toadie (and Susan) are providing him with.
Meanwhile Sonya, having left Callum and Troy in the bar, stands and watches the pair of them and when she hears Toadie saying "there is nothing wrong with telling the world that you love someone," she has a flashback to Toadie giving her the bracelet she is wearing.
Harold's Store
Paul comes in and asks Kate for his usual coffee but before she goes to make it, he hands her the iPod Nano that Sophie tricked him into buying - it's still going to be his pressie to her but it's up to Kate to decide when she is ready to get it. As she makes his coffee, he then remarks that she seems to be constantly working and needs to get the work/life balance more evenly balanced although she isn't exactly appreciative of him saying that!
(Later)
Jade enters the store so she can let Kate know about Mark moving into #26. Kate is fine with that and Jade returns outside for brekkie with her housemates.
Lassiters Complex
The three housemates can't decide on who should get the master bedroom with the en- suite but it's Kate (when she comes over to see them) who swings it in Jade's favour by reminding the guys who has been using that room recently! Sleeping arrangements sorted, she then suggests that since they are going to be neighbours that they should do something and after a bit of discussion a BBQ in the Lassiters Park is agreed.
Ramsay Street
Sonya and Troy arrive back from the best veggie shop in town laden down with vegetables for making the paella. They are getting on rather well with each other and when they kneel down to pick up the veggies (after Sonya accidentally dropped it) Troy leans forward to kiss her.
Troy immediately pulls back through when he hears someone approaching - Callum, although from his perspective, he isn't sure if the kiss did happen or not but its certainly freaked him out big time and he immediately turns and runs for home. Sonya follows him seconds later after telling Troy she'll handle it.
Number 30
"I'm not home," is Callum's message to Toadie when they hear a knock at the door. Toadie answers it and its Sonya. "What happened?" he asks but she doesn't want to say, she just wants to talk to Callum but Toadie is adamant that won't happen unless she explains things first. Sonya doesn't want to, instead tells him that she will see him later.
Toadie rejoins Callum on the sofa and after a bit of probing gets it out of him that he witnessed Sonya and Troy about to kiss. "Sorry," he says and in the background, Harold listens intently having lost interest in the biscuit he was eating! Toad explains that there is nothing to say sorry for, adding that Sonya has the right to be with who she wants to be even though he doesn't exactly sound convincing! He does reassure Callum though that both of them will always be there for him because they both love him and that is all that matters.
Toadie then gets up and walks into the hallway where we see how he really does feel about what Callum told him, which is the total opposite of what he just said to Callum.
Harold's Store
Having decided on having a BBQ, the quartet now squabbles over what meat and drinks to have for their barbie.
Lassiters Lake
And the squabbles continue now they reach the BBQ over whether there is gas or not to cook the food on. Kate lays down the law to the guys and after both of them try, they finally agree on something - that the gas is empty!
Number 30
Harold delivers a cuppa of Carolyn's tea to Toadie. He is putting on a brave face until Harold mentions that he too saw the pair of them being intimate last week. Harold adds that he did speak to Sonya and that she did seem upset but suggests that Toadie needs to talk to Sonya to see whether he needs to continue the fight for her or not.
HAROLD: Oh Jarrod, I'm sorry.
TOADIE: I've only got myself to blame. It's all my fault.
Number 30
Callum answers the door to Sonya, Toadie having gone out for a walk, and she apologises for what he saw earlier. She admits that she isn't sure where things lie now between her and Troy but asks him if he'd be against them getting together. "Its weird," he admits and Sonya promises she'll give Troy up if that is what Cal wants her to do but he is fine with her (and Toadie) being with who they want to be.
CALLUM: I just want you to be happy. If you want to be with Troy, go for it.
Charlie's
Having given up on their BBQ, the quartet decent on the bar but the tension from earlier is still simmering away, until eventually Kate cracks and has a right go at them. She retreats to the bar after leaving them to ponder her words - if they are like this now, how are they planning on living with each other!
They certainly take those words to heart and after a quick conflab, join Kate at the bar and finally hang out like she would have preferred to earlier - the guys playing pool and the ladies having a chinwag over drinks at the bar.
Witnessing the bonding is Paul, and Kate momentarily leaves Jade to go over and thank him for helping put her life/work balance back. He does look rather pleased at seeing Kate have fun with her mates.
Harold's Store
As Abby Dobson's 'I'm not missing you' starts up, Sonya enters the store to buy a box of cupcakes to take away and spots Toadie sitting at a table in the corner. While she waits for her order to be fulfilled, the two of them continually look/not look at each other. Toadie goes to make a move to go over to her but immediately sits down again and likewise once Sonya gets her cakes, she debates whether to go over and see him before deciding to exit the store instead.
Lassiters Complex
Toadie follows Sonya out of the store and calls out to her, so she stops to let him catch up to her. He tells her about Callum still finding his head around her and Troy then a few seconds later adds that he is too. She too adds that she is worried about him, which surprises him somewhat.
SONYA: What you think is important to me.
TOADIE: It's okay.
SONYA: (quietly) Okay.
Sonya begins to move away and the song we heard a few minutes ago resumes as Toadie again, goes after her.
TOADIE: You know what, I'm not okay. It hurts.
SONYA: Toadie I'm sorry.
TOADIE: Wait please. There's always been something between us, right from the very start and even when we broke up I just kind of assumed that we would...
They almost telepathically seem to know what he was going to say but didn't.
TOADIE: But too much has happened, we can't go back and I can't move forward unless I let you go.
SONYA: You'll let me go?
TOADIE: Yip, so I want you to be with Troy. I wish you guys all the best.
Toadie walks away, leaving an emotional Sonya to let what he has said sink in.
