Previously on Neighbours
Andrew asking Summer not to judge him and Sum suggesting then that they stay away from each other.
Callum wants to know everything from Sonya, warts and all.
Number 24/Number 30 (Callum's room)
Sonya and Callum each wrestle with their thoughts - her over what he's going to read in her police file and Callum whether he wants to read it or not.
Finally he does and we can see some of the things she did - break and enter and assault. We don't find out any more because Toadie knocks on Cal's door so he quickly hides the file.
Number 24
Jade isn't amused at Sonya handing over her file to Callum so he can read it alone, she thinks it would have been better for them to have gone through it together, so she could help Callum understand.
Number 30
Callum finishes reading Sonya's file and moments later she calls him but he cancels her call.
Harold's Store
Lucas asks if Sonya is going to the GA meeting today when she goes up to him in the store. When she says explains why she isn't going, his attitude softens and asks if he's read her file. He leaves moments after Callum enters and barely acknowledges Sonya when he passes her on the way to the drinks fridge.
Sonya follows him and asks if he's read her file, he has, and if he wants to talk about it but he replies that Toadie is outside and that he needs to go, again almost blanking her as he passes her to exit the store.
Number 26
Summer attempts to do her essay on 'Atonement' but initially gets distracted by flashbacks to Andrew pashing Lisa before her family arrive home. Lyn suggests a break for afternoon tea as a welcome for Kyle moving in.
Kyle arrives at his new abode, very grateful to Lyn for letting him move in. Charlie asks what is his bags and Kyle explains that they contain his clothes and then hands 'Charles' an empty hand weight bar for him to start building up his guns!
(Later)
Lyn makes Summer a sandwich but she is still struggling to do her essay on 'Atonement' so rejects the sandwich offer. She then bails the house totally to find somewhere quiet to work on it.
Lassiters Complex
And Summer's somewhere quiet is a table outside the store. Andrew gloats that he's finished it (so he can spend time with Lisa) when he spots her and she makes polite noises that she is happy for him dating Lisa.
Lassiters Lake
Jade finishes with a client and spots Callum sitting quietly on the decking. He rises to go and meet her because he wants to ask her things about what he read in the file. She confirms that Sonya did break her arm (and how it happened - Gran, Auntie Robyn and herself tried to have an intervention) but almost downplays how bad Sonya was, just referring to her as being in a 'bad place'. He isn't amused to hear that Jade dobbed her own sister into the police although Jade refers to it as trying to give Sonya a 'wake up call' and that she feels it did help.
JADE: Look Cal, everything that's in that file, that's the past, that isn't who Sonya is any more, she really has changed.
Number 24
Cal sneaks in through the back door to avoid Toadie knowing. He returns her file and admits he hated reading it and that he didn't like that person. "I'm not like that any more," she tells him and he asks her to promise him that she won't be that person again.
SONYA: I'm an addict, it doesn't work like that.
CALLUM: I don't care. Promise me you'll forget it.
Sonya hesitantly nods her head and promises.
CALLUM: You mean it, 100%?
SONYA: Yes.
This time Callum rushes straight to her and hugs her, unlike a moment ago when he quickly stepped back when Sonya tried to touch him.
Harold's Store
Lucas and Toadie enter the store but he can't get out quick enough after spotting Sonya sitting at a table. She tells Lucas about her meeting with Callum and that she is now going to go to the GA meeting.
Number 26
'Charles' and Kyle are having fun playing soldiers with each other although I really don't know who the biggest kid is! Sum makes a sarcastic remark about Kyle teaching her brother about wars when she arrived home and he invites her to join in the playing with them.
(Later)
Kyle helps himself to some OJ and asks Lyn how it's going to work for paying for things so he doesn't get more "rules" wrong. Lyn is a bit puzzled, so Kyle says that he gets the feeling Summer doesn't want him living there. She tells him not to take it personally; Summer is just fretting about doing Year 12 and thinks she'll be less stressful when she gets her 'Atonement' essay finished.
(Later)
Summer is looking at Andrew's Facebook page but quickly hides it when Kyle returns home with some shopping and the 'Atonement' DVD for Summer to watch - he preferred doing the essay after watching the film. She doesn't seem too impressed at he tells her not to be a snob and judgemental! "I don't even know why I bothered," he says before heading to his room taking the DVD with him.
Lassiters Lake
Lyn tries to surprise Summer after spotting her on the wooden walkway. Sum spots her at the last minute and then pondering what Kyle said to her, asks Lyn if she is judgemental after eventually admitting that is what Kyle called her. "You do expect a lot of people sometimes," is Lyn's tactful reply and when Summer explains a bit more, Lyn then adds that perhaps she needs to ease up on herself as well as others.
SUMMER: I'm trying to be a good person Nan, what's wrong with that?
LYN: Nothing and it's so good that you aim so high but nobody's perfect Sum, not even you. You know, if you could just get your head around that, you'd be a lot less stressed and a lot happier eh?
Summer nods her head and you can just about see the relief rising from her.
Number 26 garden
Summer watches on at some more Kyle and Charlie bonding - they've come to a deal for Kyle to help Charlie practice his footy kicking so he can show off to Steph the next time he sees her. Charlie does a kick and it goes flying over the hedge down onto the street, so Summer chases after the ball and hands it to Kyle. He watches on too (after throwing Charlie the ball) as Summer and Andrew have a bit of UST when they just stare at each other when he comes out to check the letterbox.
Number 26
Kyle comes in for some juice and Summer apologises to him. She expects an apology back from him but all she gets is an explanation that bringing her down a peg or two was done for a good reason - to help her get back with Andrew!
Lyn overhears the tail end of their conversation and tells Kyle he's needed back outside, and when he leaves, Lyn offers to have Kyle gone if she thinks he is going to stress her out too much. Sum rejects Lyn's suggestion because he's really good with Charlie.
Number 30 (Cal's room)
Toadie and Callum finish playing some zombie game and Toadie heads back to the office. Callum retrieves a hidden box and begins to look through the photo's that Sonya gave him.
School - GA meeting
Lucas wraps up the meeting by going through the 12 steps to recovery.
Number 30
Cal continues to look through the photo's, including a "family" one of the three of them.
School - GA meeting
Sonya walks out of the meeting before Lucas finishes the 12 steps.
Lassiters rotunda
Sonya thanks Callum for meeting her. He tells her about looking through the photos and suggests putting the stuff into a scrapbook where they can add to it as they do more things together; beginning now with a trip to the movies since Toadie is working.
Sonya tries to explain to him about her addiction, that is one thing to get better, staying there is different. She now brings up the promise from earlier and Cal admits that was wrong of him to ask her, he really believes that she is a different person now and wouldn't do those sorts of things again.
SONYA: It's not as simple as that.
CALLUM: It is. I mean you wouldn't do that to me... not again.
SONYA: You know I love you.
CALLUM: I love you too.
Callum then leans back, to cuddle into his mum.
