- Summer and Tash clashing over Andrew's party
- Andrew confessing to the police and Paul about Tomas
- Summer feeling betrayed by Andrew and his lies
Ramsay Street
Andrew chases Summer down the street, trying to get her to listen to him, but Summer says he has two main problems. One, he's all talk, and two, everything ends up being about his dad (Andrew trying to impress him, etc). Toadie brings Callum home from the hospital just as Sonya's collecting mail from #24. She gives them an uncertain wave but they don't wave back.
Number 30/Number 24
Toadie brings Callum a ton of food since he didn't eat much in the hospital, but Callum doesn't touch anything. He's more interested in talking about Sonya, and why she's staying at the Ramsay house. But Toadie gets angry and says he doesn't want to talk about Sonya right now.
Sonya peers out the lounge room window over to #30 and then looks at one of Sophie's school books where she and Callum have scribbled messages on the front. She smiles fondly before becoming sad again.
Harold's Store
Summer finishes telling Chris about the latest in the Andrew saga when Detective Brennan walks in. She asks him about Tomas and finds out he's been charged, but that's all Mark's willing to say on the matter. The teens grab a table and talk about studying, but Chris thinks they should go to Tash's and study with her since she's grounded. Summer thinks that's the worst idea ever - yes, they're attempting to be friends again, but spending too much 'quality' time together would be disastrous. Chris manages to convince her they'd only stay for an hour, tops.
Toadie has brought Callum in for a meal since he didn't eat anything at home, but it all appears to be a ploy when Karl plays tag- along. Callum figures out that since Toadie isn't willing to talk about Sonya he's asked Karl to take his place. Karl tries his best to talk things through with him while Toadie's at the law office, but Cal is more interested in eavesdropping on a phone conversation Paul's having with Andrew. Cal's ears perk up more when Paul tells Andrew he'll always give him "solid upfront advice" - just what Cal needs.
Lassiter's Park
Callum seeks out Paul for a chat, who figures the young boy isn't there just to make small talk. Callum admits he needs some advice about Sonya, but Paul thinks he should really be talking things through with his dad.
CALLUM: I've tried. Every time I bring it up he just goes all quiet. So he's palmed me off to Karl but he just gives me more questions and no answers.
PAUL: Well of course, Karl's a fool.
CALLUM: See, that's what I need. Someone to give me it straight.
PAUL: Yeah... The thing is I don't think I'm actually the right person to give you this advice.
CALLUM: But you are. You don't care about how people feel, you just tell it how it is.
Paul tries another attempt to send Callum on his way to Toadie, even offering to walk him there himself, but Callum doesn't budge. He tells Paul a quote he found on the net, "Control your destiny or someone else will", and says he's not moving until gets some honest answers.
First Commercial Break
Number 28
Toadie thanks Karl for chatting to Callum earlier. Karl wants Toadie to ensure he's looking after himself as well, but Toadie just pretends he's feeling fine. That feeling doesn't last for long, however, when Toad realises Callum isn't with the doc. Karl says Callum was going to meet Toadie at his office, otherwise he never would have let him go off by himself. Panicking, Toadie tries Callum's mobile but gets voicemail before having a sudden realisation where his son is, "She's got to him!"
Number 24
Toadie pretty much barges through the door and asks Sonya what she's done with Callum, but Sonya looks worried and says she hasn't seen him. She tries to reach out to Toadie to calm him down, but Toadie just backs away in annoyance. Sonya says she wants to help look for Callum but Toadie says he can handle it himself. When Toadie's out the door, though, he has a split second moment of wanting to take Sonya up on her offer before changing his mind and moving on.
Number 32
Tash is pleased to see Chris but less so to see Summer. Chris urges them to get along but the girls don't appear keen. Summer ignores a call from Andrew and informs Tash they're going to be studying Shakespeare, her least favourite topic.
Lassiter's Park
Callum finishes telling Paul about his history with his mother, but he doesn't get how his mum and Sonya can be the same person when Sonya's so nice now. He compares Sonya to a grown up best friend, but friends don't keep huge secrets from one another. Paul says that friendship is overrated and that sometimes we put our trust in people we love but they just end up hurting us and walking out. Paul points out that Sonya came back, though, but Callum still deserves to know why Sonya left in the first place.
PAUL: Sometimes to get what we want we have to confront our demons.
CALLUM: Sonya's not a demon.
Callum doesn't think Toadie will let him see Sonya, but Paul says Callum needs to put himself first this time and do what he feels is right. Before Callum heads off to seek out the truth, Paul leaves him with one final thought: "You might not like what you hear". Andrew finds his dad and chats to him about Cal's woes. When Paul reiterates Callum's destiny quote from earlier, Andrew looks up Summer's number in his phone and dithers over whether to call her or not.
Second Commercial Break
Number 32
Tash hangs up from Toadie, who is still looking for Callum, and gets into a ridiculous bicker- fest with Summer about it. But when Chris tells them to chillax, Tash actually offers Summer a genuine apology and says she's grateful to have her around for company while she's grounded. Summer relents as well and tells Tash that calling the cops on Andrew's party was the right thing to do. When Tash goes to get them something to eat, Summer shakes her head at Chris and says he's getting a little too good at emotional blackmail.
Lassiter's Park
Sonya's training an adorable brown puppy when Callum finds her and asks to talk. Callum brings up the time he thought a monster crept into his room and stole his piggy bank money, but Sonya says she was a completely different person back then. She isn't sure Callum's ready to hear about all the dark aspects of her past, but Callum says he needs to hear the truth.
Harold's Store
Karl asks Paul and Andrew if they've seen Callum and finds out Paul had a nice little chat to him earlier. Paul's more than happy to inform Karl that he was giving Callum answers that the doc couldn't.
KARL: Oh great, so now he's taking advice from the Prince of Darkness.
PAUL: Well it's better than advice from Doctor... Who?
KARL: Why don't you stick to parenting your own wayward children?
Paul says that Callum probably just needs some space, but Karl's had enough of Paul for one day and leaves to keep searching for Cal. Andrew bumps into Summer, who is buying drinks for her study session. He wants another chance to talk, but Summer says that talk is cheap - it's his actions that count. Andrew takes Summer's hand and says he really wants to make things up with her. Summer looks sad and says that she knows, before paying for her drinks and leaving the store.
Lassiter's Park
Sonya says that Callum was better off without her, and when she met him again she knew she'd made the right decision because of how happy he was. But Callum said that had nothing to do with his Gran because she worked all the time - he's only happy today because of Toadie's influence.
SONYA: I'm sorry. My mum died when I was a little kid, I didn't know how to be a mum.
CALLUM: So you just ditched me?
SONYA: I loved you. I loved you so much. I hated having to leave, but I knew that if I didn't things would have gotten worse for both of us.
CALLUM: What does that mean?
SONYA: I was hanging out with the wrong people. I was doing the wrong things, and if you had stayed with me you would have been exposed to all that.
CALLUM: Yeah but at least I would have been with my mum instead of being alone like a loser.
SONYA: You're not a loser, Cally- Wal.
CALLUM: Don't call me that. I hate it.
SONYA: I'm sorry, I won't do it again.
CALLUM: If you loved me so much why didn't you try fix yourself?
SONYA: I did, I really tried, but every time I got close I got dragged back down again. I had to make a clean break.
CALLUM: So why did you come back?
SONYA: Because I was better and I wanted to see you.
CALLUM: What, just see me so that you could leave again?
SONYA: Well I didn't want to hurt you all over again, then things got complicated and I couldn't stay away. I fell in love with your dad. But you have to believe me, Callum, I never, ever stopped thinking about you. And I am so, so sorry.
Callum asks who his father is but Sonya asks if they can start with something easier, so Cal asks how she chose his name. Sonya smiles and says that Callum was the name of her doctor - the only person who was nice to her when everyone else had disowned her. Before Callum can ask another question, Toadie shouts out his name and angrily tells him to wait in the car.
Third Commercial Break
Lassiter's Park
Sonya tries to explain to Toadie that she was working when Callum sought her out, but Toadie thinks she's trying to manipulate her way back into his life. Sonya says that Callum has questions and deserves to know the truth, but Toadie says that what Callum deserves is for Sonya to stay away from him.
TOADIE: I've told you once, this is your final warning. If I see you two together I will use every last legal avenue, every last contact, every last favour to make sure that you never see him again.
