Harold's Store
Declan is trying to get through to Bridget again, but no luck. He leaves her a message, and then thanks Kate for helping him with his mum's wedding ideas. She tells him she's trying to pay all her bills but is shocking with maths, so he offers to help her back. He explains that it was just him and his mum for ages, so he always used to help with the budgeting. Kate concedes.
Number 24
Harry is unpacking some musical stuff that he's bought, and Sophie isn't sure that Kate is going to like this. Harry points out that it's their money, not Kate's, and he just wants them all to have a good time together like they used to with their mum. Sophie finally agrees to help her brother set it all up.
Number 28
Toadie has come around with Rocky and Susan is none too pleased to have someone watching over - it's not like she's had heart bypass, after all. Toad tells her that she needs to rest and let things settle...in there!
TOADIE: Anyway, what's wrong with us spending some quality time together?
SUSAN: Ah! I see! This is about you missing Callum, isn't it?!
Toadie has bought a DVD of Stupid Aussies (I wonder if Janae's on that edition?), and souvlaki from Jimmy's. Susan LOVES that souvlaki and digs in, ignoring Rocky's nudges to share it.
Harold's Store
Declan has finished helping Kate with the budgeting and Kate's frustrated that she doesn't have much money left.
Declan is missing Didge and Indy, even though they've only been gone a few hours; he wonders what he'll be like after a week. Kate suggests he do something, like see his friends. Declan tells her that they all hate him at the moment, and so none of them are answering their phones to him.
Kate offers her house for the evening if he wants to join their family for dinner - she'd especially appreciate it for Harry's sake as he needs some mates...Declan isn't sure.
Number 24
Harry and Sophie are drumming and guitaring and singing to some music game. Kate comes home with Declan and is horrified. She switches the TV off and demands to know what's going on and where they got the game.
HARRY: Get on the mike, it kills.
KATE: The house is a pigsty and you're wasting money!
HARRY: Can't you just chill for once?
KATE: We said we'd discuss any major purchases.
HARRY: We also said we'd talk about who could come over.
Declan decides he should probably go, but Kate wants him to stay. Declan suggests he help them clear up, but Harry ain't having any of it and tells Dec to go hassle his own family. Harry storms off out of the house, closely followed by Sophie to her room.
The Bush
Steve is still running, still desperate to get help. He finds a letter box, and turns a corner in the hope of finding a house - but it's a burnt out ruin. Hearing a revving bike, he runs towards the sound.
Number 28
Susan and Toadie are laughing themselves silly at Stupid Aussies when Harry comes over. He's clearly come over to play the keyboard, and is now all awkward, but Susan makes an excuse to go and walk Rocky. Toadie wonders why Harry would stay in the house whilst they're out, and Susan lies that she's asked him to help around the house.
Toadie, Susan and Rocky leave and Harry starts to play.
Number 24
Declan is helping Kate clear up the house when Soph comes out of her room. She argues that she tried to make a new friend by bringing Dec back and her siblings were rude. Sophie thinks that Kate was rude by switching the TV off.
SOPHIE: He just wanted us to have some fun. You know, he was so excited about buying that game. He thought you were gonna love it.
KATE: Yeah, well, then he should have asked me first.
SOPHIE: Why does everything have to be so serious with you?
KATE: Because I'm the only one who actually does anything! I have no choice!
SOPHIE: Yeah, you do! This could have been a fun day. We could have all played the game, Declan too. We could have all cleaned up afterwards. Mum liked it when we had fun.
Sophie returns to her room, and Declan comes over to say he's leaving now. He checks his phone again - no messages.
The Bush
Steve stumbles through the trees, running and following the revving noise.
Number 28
Harry is playing the keyboard when Declan knocks. Harry doesn't hear him, and keeps playing when Declan comes in. Dec wonders if Harry has permission to be here, and says if he won't tell him, he can get out.
HARRY: Make me.
DECLAN: Such a loser.
HARRY: What about you, huh? Hitting on my sister.
DECLAN: What?!
HARRY: Isn't your wife any fun anymore?
Declan starts manhandling Harry when Susan, Toadie and Rocky return. Susan yells at the boys to stop and closes the door, telling them she won't have fighting in the house.
Susan quietly tells Declan to be more mature; Dec retorts that everyone expects him to be a super-wise Jedi master now he's a dad, but he sometimes screws up. He storms out the house, and Susan turns to Harry.
She points out that Harry and Declan have more in common than they think. She realises that Harry is embarrassed he was caught playing, but he has to stop being rude to everyone - it doesn't help.
HARRY: Nothing I do helps. You know, I'm sorry for messing things up, and I won't use the keyboard again.
Number 24
Kate is still cleaning the house, when she spies the guitar and the game. She tries it out and hearing her, Sophie comes out of her room.
Number 26
Dec goes into the nursery and stares at the shelves he's supposed to be putting up. He calls Didge again and leaves another message in case she wants a progress report.
The Bush
In pain, Steve is still stumbling through the trees. He reaches the source of the noise which is a car of youths. They rev up dust in his face and ignore his screaming, driving off. Steve is distraught.
Number 28
Susan and Toadie are watching Stupid Aussies again. Susan isn't looking happy, and Toadie knows she's worried about the boys. Susan tells him why she's worried and decides to go over to talk to them both, see if they're okay. Toadie stops her.
TOADIE: You can't be a parent to everyone.
SUSAN: Do you think I'm interfering?
TOADIE: Susan, you know what? Just once this afternoon, you need to worry about yourself.
SUSAN: I'm worried about them!
TOADIE: Well you need to worry about yourself more!
SUSAN: I don't! I'm fine!
Toadie does a deal - he'll go see the boys if Susan sits down and relaxes. She gives in.
Number 24
Over at the Ramsays', Kate and Sophie are doing the music thing together. Toadie comes over with the keyboard and sets it up for them, just as Harry comes in the back door. Toadie tells him that as he's the only one who plays it, Harry might as well have it. Harry passes his thanks back to Susan.
When Toadie leaves, Kate invites Harry to join her and Sophie. He does, and the three of them play and sing their mum's favourite song. Aw, bless!
Number 26
Declan has made the shelves up, and has some screws and bits left over! Toadie helps him move it to the right part of the nursery, and asks what's going on with him. Declan knows that Susan sent Toadie over, and admits that he has a feeling something's wrong - Bridget hasn't been in touch.
Declan tells Toadie that when India was screaming all night, he kept thinking that he couldn't wait for them to all go away, and now they're not here, he misses them like crazy.
The Bush
Steve is still running, and stands in front of a car which pulls up. The driver tells him to get in, and they drive off to the site of the accident.
Number 28
Declan has come over to see Suse and apologise for walking out on her earlier. She gives him a big hug and offers him a coffee and cheesecake which he gratefully accepts. Harry comes in at the same time, and thanks Susan for the keyboard. Declan is surprised she gave the instrument away, so she tells him that Harry's a good musician.
DECLAN: You should get him to teach Karl a few things.
Harry apologises to Declan for what he said, and decides to stay, seeing as cheesecake's on offer...
The Bush
The truck speeds up to the crash site, and Miranda is now lying on the ground outside of the car, which Steve says she wasn't before. Steve tells his wife that the ambulance is coming.
He then runs off, looking for Bridget, shouting her name over and over.
