Number 22
Elle stresses out about Paul and the whole Jill saga, Paul has taken Helen's will and Jill's birth certificate. Lucas doesn't understand what the deal is, what could Paul do? Elle thinks that on past history he could do anything. She needs to find Jill before Paul.
Another street in Erinsborough
Elle and Lucas have found Jill's house very quickly. You'd think she'd have moved away from Erinsborough. Lucas wonders what they'll do if she's not in. Elle says they'll wait, just as long as they get to her before Paul. Oh speak of the devil, there he is. Elle and Lucas duck down behind a car and decide that the family reunion can wait. They need to follow Paul.
Lassiters Hotel Room
Miranda is lurking outside Dean's room. Dean comes out to leave his room service tray and jokes that he thought she'd stood him up. Miranda apologises for the previous night. They have breakfast and talk about their crazy times. Dean is a whisperer. Miranda has no regrets. Dean wants to order champagne but Miranda has to go back to work....so they pash.
Number 26
Steve has come over to get a nice shirt so he looks good for pancakes. Bridget tells him not to push it , she doesn't want him to get hurt. Steve thinks they're all going to be a family again.
Hotel Room
Ew, Dean and Miranda are still kissing. Dean thinks he was mad to let Miranda go, Steve was never good enough for her. Miranda doesn't want him to talk about Steve like that. He's a good man and she could depend on him. She thinks she and Dean had their chance and they blew it. Dean invites her to the conference dinner. She leaves...but will she go?
Harold's Store
Miranda is pouring her heart out to Susan. She was starting to think Steve was right in wanting them to get back together. Susan asks if it would make her happy.
MIRANDA: It would make Bridget happy?
SUSAN: But what about you?
They are interrupted by Toadie, Karl and Steve.
TOADIE: Hey, mummySusan! The men are here!
Susan looks non-plused. Toadie reminds her that she told him to round up some blokes. She remembers that she's decided to make the netball team mixed. Toadie likes the idea and Steve is in if Miranda is involved, but Karl needs more persuading.
SUSAN: (eyeing him up and done) Oh come on, you look so good in shorts...
TOADIE: Oo, flattery Mrs Kennedy, nice work!
KARL: Too obvious Mrs Kennedy...
SUSAN: All right then, it'll stop you obsessing about Sunny and Zeke.
TOADIE: But that's what Karl does isn't it? He obsesses; he's not the sporty type. He's all words and un-co and arms and legs flapping everywhere around.
KARL: I beg your pardon! Well I'm in! See you on court.
He leaves and Toadie and Susan share a mini high-five. Toadie leaves too, but Steve hasn't picked up a clue yet. He says he doesn't want to be a third wheel in secret women's business yet still isn't....oh no, now he's gone. That was awkward, and Miranda feels bad. Susan sympathises but reminds her that marriages end, it's messy and unfortunate, but it's life. She also advises not to be swept away by the romance of Dean.
Erinsborough Newspaper
Elle and Lucas lost Paul so are looking for him at the office. Susan says he isn't around and is suspicious. Elle needs to find him before he goes back to see Jill. Susan wants to know who Jill is - it better not be going to hurt Rebecca. In comes Paul all twitchy. He won't talk to Elle and chucks her out of his office. He has blood on his sleeve. OMG.
Elle comes back in with photos for a story. Susan eavesdrops. Oh Susan, don't get involved. Elle tells him not to go back to his old ways, she's worried about him. He goes out again. Susan puts two and two together and gets five.
SUSAN: You know, you don't have to pretend.
ELLE: I could really do without the saint Susan today.
SUSAN: Elle, what's Paul up to?
ELLE: He's not doing anything.
SUSAN: You know, you've come a long way with Paul, don't let him drag you down again, you're better than that.
The Gym
Karl can perform surgery, he doesn't need help working the machinery although he clearly does because he falls off the running machine. Steve and Toadie have a good laugh. He admits he's self conscious about his calves. He's noticed Steve is in pretty good shape at the moment.
STEVE: If I can't respect myself, how can Miranda?
KARL: Ah, nice. Has she noticed?
STEVE: I think so.
KARL: Ah good, sounds very positive.
STEVE: Yeah, well it's worth all the hard work if she comes back to me.
Charlie's
Paul is in ultra anxiety mode. Miranda is wistful. Lucas is angry and confrontational. Not much else to say really.
Lassiters complex
Karl is having a medical emergency much to Susan and Toadie's amusement. Elle confronts Paul and realises he didn't know about Jill. He still doesn't want to know about it. He went to see her to ask her to leave things as they are, it's too late to play happy families. He thought his parents were happy but they were cheating on each other, that's what hurts. He doesn't care about the money. Elle doesn't need to be scared; he and Rebecca are going away.
Charlie's
Elle tells Lucas to keep schtum, she's not going to rock the boat if he wants to leave it. In private Elle makes a call, she needs Jill's phone number.
Number 26
Miranda seems to have borrowed the Kennedys random mirror and is looking at herself in her new dress. Bridget thinks she looks great and asks if she's seen Steve because they seemed really good the other day in Harold's.
BRIDGET: I just want you to be happy, whatever that means, so I don't want you and dad to feel like you have to do anything on my account.
MIRANDA: Ok.
Didge wanders off and Miranda's gaze falls upon a family photograph, zooming in on her and Steve looking all happy. Time for some wistful music.
Lasssiters
Confusion overload. Steve is in the hotel room getting dressed for the next day but Dean is in the same room but not, waiting for Miranda to join him for dinner. She tentatively knocks on Dean's door, he lets her in and they pash again.
Number 26
Miranda tries to sneak in next morning unnoticed by Steve and Bridget, but they catch her. Miranda says she didn't mean for Steve to see her like this. Steve doesn't want to know about it. He storms out.
Oh dear.
