Number 22
Poor Donna is crying her eyes out and smothering the lounge with tissues whilst Ringo tries to call her from outside.
RINGO: Donna, I know you're in there!
DONNA: No I'm not!
Ringo just wants to talk to her but she tells him to go away. Donna tries to block him out by putting on the radio but Ringo's not leaving. Donna goes to the door but it's still locked by the chain so he can't see her behind the door. Ringo snappily admits that he was jealous and he's sorry. That's all he wanted to say and moves away from the door. Donna shuts it and starts to cry again.
Number 28
Karl, Dan, Sunny and Zeke arrive home followed by Declan and Bridget all welcomed by Susan and Miranda. Karl asks about dinner and is disappointed to hear that Susan and Miranda are going out for dinner.
BRIDGET: Can we come? I'm starving.
KARL: I'm starving.
MIRANDA: Sweetheart, you'd hate it. It's one of these places where the mains are like this big.
Miranda gestures how big the main course would be, which isn't that big...
DECLAN: Well, I'll make my tuna surprise.
BRIDGET: Can we order pizza?
DECLAN: What's wrong with my tuna surprise?
BRIDGET: Where do I start?
Dan is a bit annoyed with the student council president after just getting off the phone with her, thinking it'll be amazing if he still has a job after this mishap. Dan says to the whole room that some of the kids were getting out of control and Zeke resents that; it wasn't just the kids. Zeke helps out Sunny with her bags, being all sweet in the background whilst Karl mentions that he has a point. Miranda wants to know what he's talking about and Declan tries to tell them not to go there. Karl starts to explain that Rebecca and Paul were caught in the bush. Miranda shocked. Declan is disgusted as he walks around, covering his ears and singing as loudly as possible. Sunny says it's immature and Declan thinks it's rich coming from them and mentions the cupboard. Karl and Susan want to know what he's on about and Sunny and Zeke say it's nothing, a little too quickly. They get a bit fluttered and end up waffling and finishing each other's sentences as they go to finished unpacking, leaving everyone a bit confused.
SUSAN: Is there something going on there?
KARL: Oh, I wonder. They both disappeared at camp.
SUSAN: Yeah, and now they're finishing each other's sentences. You don't usually do that unless you've been married for 25...
KARL: Married for 25 years or something.
SUSAN: Exactly.
Bridget says they're crazy about each other but they just won't admit it. Karl and Susan aren't too pleased.
Later on, Susan comes home from dinner, confused to see Karl, who's sitting in between Sunny and Zeke, still up thinking he'd be in bed already. He should be, he's virtually sleep-walking, which Susan points out.
ZEKE: He drooled on my shoulder.
KARL: No, I did not.
ZEKE: It's damp, have a feel.
Susan ushers him to bed and Karl offers Ringo to sit in his spot, insistently. Susan thinks he's being silly and tells him to go to bed. He gives in and goes and Susan stops behind and says that if they come up with a new system she will know about it with her Ninja powers. She leaves and Sunny wants to know what she's talking about with the system and Ringo answers that it was a way for him and Donna to have time alone in his room and says that they don't need it anymore and goes to bed. Sunny is insulted that Susan would think that she and Zeke need a system and goes to set her straight. Zeke jumps up and stops in front of her to say they really don't need disturbing. Sunny says it'll only take a minute but Zeke's insistent that she doesn't go in their room. Sunny eventually gets what he means and is disgusted. Zeke watches her run off and laughs at her but in a nice way.
Number 22
Lucas is disposing of Donna's tissues with a pair of tongs but is told off by Elle. Lucas argues that she uses them to open the bin. You start to wonder why but then realise it's Elle. Lucas asks about the birth certificate Elle is annoyed that they only give it to immediate offspring. Elle can't ask Paul as she doesn't want to hurt him. Donna comes downstairs.
DONNA: Ok I'm home, you better put your clothes back on.
ELLE: Ah! Are you responsible for all of this?
DONNA: My bags?
ELLE: No, the filthy tissues left lying around the place.
DONNA: I had something in my eye. Couldn't find my way to the bin.
Paul comes in for Elle, who has called him over. Elle wants him to sign some expense forms. Donna says hi to him but is completely ignored as they discuss the forms. Elle hands them to him and goes off to speak to Lucas in discreet. Elle reveals that the application form for the birth certificate is in between then and he won't even know he's signing it. Lucas says she won't get away with this but Elle tells him to watch. Donna announces that she's going back upstairs, if anyone cares and again no one pays any attention to her. Paul gives Elle the forms back and they find that he's signed them.
Next morning, Elle comes downstairs and asks if the lawyer called but that's a no. Lucas wonders why she was up so late but Donna needed pep talk with ice-cream. Elle says she couldn't sleep: she hates lying to her father. Speaking of which, he comes in as they leave. He goes upstairs to pick up a suit as the phone starts to ring and on the answer phone message, Paul hears that the birth certificate that has been requested has been found and he hears it's in reference to Helen Daniels' will.
Charlie's
Elle is on the phone and angry the lawyer didn't call her mobile. She asks when she gets to see the birth certificate. When she gets off the phone she frets that they left a message on the home phone and worries that Paul heard it. Rebecca and Paul walk in and Rebecca talks about a celebration dinner. Elle asks what the occasion is and Rebecca says that they're celebrating their coming out. Lucas asks Paul who the lucky guy is but he simply says that he and Rebecca want to make it work out this time and ask for Elle's blessing. Elle nervously gives it to them and says yes to their question of having it at hers. Paul thanks her and says he can always rely on her, giving a sneaky look.
Number 22
Elle runs in to check the answer phone to find that there are no new messages when she knows that the lawyer sent in a message.
A short while after and Lucas is explaining how answer phones are useless but Elle is adamant he knows. She knows if he deleted the message then he's doing his own research, knowing how paranoid he can be when he even thinks someone's trying to get at his money. Lucas suggests that Paul might not care about that and might only be happy about family but this is Paul Robinson. That's not so important. Elle wanted to break this to him gently and decides to get the birth certificate.
Harold's Store.
The Parkers, and Declan, are eating brekkie and Steve mentions how it's just like old times. Miranda offers him pancakes over the weekend and Steve accepts. He starts to say he likes Canadian Maple Syrup but Miranda states that she already knows after 21 years of marriage. Steve leaves for the surgery and Declan says to pretend he and Didge aren't there. Miranda leaves and Declan mentions they're getting on good but Didge isn't getting her hopes up. Zeke walks in, says hi and looks at Declan, who slides out of his chair, taking the hint. Zeke sits down and asks for her help with Sunny.
BRIDGET: Something happened in that cupboard, didn't it? I knew it!
ZEKE: No, it didn't but it could have.
BRIDGET: So, so what's the problem?
ZEKE: Well, she's avoiding me.
BRIDGET: But you live in the same house.
Zeke asks her to talk to her to find out what's going on but Didge tells her to ask her himself. Sunny walks in and Bridget greets her and suggests she sit and talk with Zeke. Sunny rolls her eyes and walks off much to Zeke's disappointment.
Erinsborough High
Dan is on the phone to Toadie about an ending as he is in desperate need of one. He says any ending will do but not when Toadie suggests nudity. Dan says not to panic and then shouts that his whole career depends on it. He stops when a messy and tired Donna sneaks up on him, giving him a weird look and comments on the amount of endings. We move to Bridget telling Sunny to talk to Zeke instead of avoiding him and she reveals that Zeke told her he was getting mixed signals.
BRIDGET: It sounds like you two got really close in that cupboard.
SUNNY: It was a small cupboard!
BRIDGET: That's not what he meant.
SUNNY: It's all in his head.
Donna has arrived and slams down her folder telling Sunny to be straight with him. Donna says she's made a mid-year resolution with complete honesty at all times and no more random pashing. Sunny's not exactly happy about telling Zeke exactly how she feels.
Out by the lockers, Zeke asks Declan if she's said anything to him.
ZEKE: Not even in her sleep?
DECLAN: Why would she be talking about Sunny in her sleep? Ok, we're not all obsessed with her.
ZEKE: You're an idiot.
DECLAN: Well, if you're interested, go for it.
RINGO: Yeah, less talk, more action.
DECLAN: Is that working for you and Donna? Really?
Ringo says he's over Donna and strops off. Zeke laughs a little as Declan says Ringo's lovesick. And points to Zeke and says, "like you."
Zeke's not amused.
Back in the classroom and Sunny says she's been a total idiot. She frets about how inexperienced she is but Donna says not to let that worry her as Zeke's the only one of the boys who hasn't had the righteous path to being a man, so to speak. Donna says loudly that boys are so revolting just as Ringo walks into the room. Donna tells herself to shut up and goes to her seat. Sunny says that she'll talk to Zeke. Zeke walks in the room and again she walks off, saying she'll talk to him later.
Lassiter's Hotel
Miranda is working as Steve comes in to bring her a present. She asks what it is and he puts it on the table.
MIRANDA: Maple syrup?! That's my present?
STEVE: That's the real deal. It's imported from Canada.
Steve says he looks forward to the weekend. Miranda gets back to the computer and is approached by someone who already knows her name. She's shocked to see him and we're told it's Dean Naughton, her tutor she was in love with.
Charlie's
Elle has the birth certificate, however despite Lucas saying she has to, she's too freaked out to open it. Rebecca visits their table to make sure they're still up for tonight, which they are, and Rebecca tells them Bridget and Declan are invited and Paul is looking forward to it. Once she leaves, Lucas makes a move to get rid of the envelope but Elle objects saying she's better off knowing, especially as Paul's onto them and she opens it. Elle clocks that Lucas did reverse psychology and she finds out that Jill Ramsay is the daughter of Anne Robinson and Max Ramsay.
Lassiters
Miranda shows Dean to his room and they have a little chit chat, amazed that they're seeing each other again. Dean asks how Steve is and Miranda says they're no longer together. Dean asks Miranda out to dinner. She's unsure but Dean says it's for old times sake and so she agrees.
Charlie's
The whole of number 28 are out having dinner and Karl says he bumped into an old girlfriend at the hospital. He starts to talk about his time with her in uni and Sunny and Zeke couldn't be less enthused about Karl's talk on relationships and how his became so awkward when living in the same house. Susan asks her name - Bambi. Ringo can't help but laugh.
KARL: She moved out in the end.
SUSAN: Back to the woods?
Zeke asks if anyone's up for a game of pool and Sunny immediately agrees. Karl tries to keep an eye and wants to 'show them his new bank shot'. Susan just tells him to sit back down. Karl asks Ringo to get him some water and tells Susan they have a responsibility towards Sunny.
SUSAN: You crossed the line from responsibility into harassment ages ago! Bambi...
Sunny thinks she's been horrible to Zeke but apparently she's just been weird. Sunny knows that something would have happened in that cupboard if they'd let it.
ZEKE: Yeah, well, we've got a lot of cupboards at home so we could try them all!
Sunny admits she's never had a boyfriend but Zeke, being as sweet as he is, says that they can work on that and take things slow. They begin playing pool however Sunny's never played pool either. They do the romantic thing with Zeke showing Sunny how to play pool by holding the cue stick together and they get close.
Number 22
At the small get together organised by Paul and Rebecca, everybody's discussing about grandparents, as Rebecca's about to become one. Rebecca comments on Elle missing out on grandparents as Paul was only 12 when he lost his mother. Paul makes a toast about family being the most important thing and about trust, purposely making eyes at Elle. He says to work together to make sure nothing ever breaks the trust. Elle excuses herself to the kitchen, uneasy. Paul follows her in asking if everything's ok, obviously stirring things. He says she doesn't seem herself and suggest they have a chat after dinner. He leaves and Elle doesn't look exactly calm.
Later after dinner, Paul notices that Elle didn't eat much dinner and tells her in private that guilt makes everyone lose their appetite.
ELLE: You erased that message.
PAUL: Now, what message would that be, Elle?
ELLE: I was trying to protect you.
Paul says he did a bit of digging himself and says he knows about Jill. Elle wants to know how he feels about that and Paul gives her an evil eye saying that he wants nothing to do with her. He tells Elle to forget she ever knew about her.
