Max tells Steph he's surprised by her mention of their children.
Trixie tells Connor he'll be sorry.
Joe walks in carrying his bags and Lyn is telling him about Harold. Joe then hands her a bag and says it's a present from Jack. His washing. Apparently Jack won't be back for a few weeks. They hug and Lyn tells him she was so worried. Joe then heads for the fridge and Lyn tells him there's plenty to eat and he can have whatever he wants as long as it's "ham or turkey or ham." He asks her why there's so much food and Lyn tells him, not very enthusiastically about Steph's Christmas buffet. Joe then asks about Valda and Lyn tells him they had a few fires of their own to put out.
Connor is placing coasters around the pub when someone knocks at the door he tells them to come back in an hour, but it's Carmella. Connor's lover boy side immediately kicks in as he opens the door to find himself face to face, then with his head in between Rocco's hands. Rocco has obviously found out about them, and is not impressed. He tells Connor that Carmella's employment at the pub will be terminated after today and she'll be flying out to Italy. Lou then walks in and Rocco repeats this information (no longer with Connor's head pressed in between his hands) and Lou is suitably heartbroken. After Rocco leaves, Lou tells Connor he'd like a word with him, because no one talks to his wife the way Connor did yesterday.
Steph is carrying a box of toys that Summer has given to her to give to Ozzy. Max comes in and says he'll miss Elmo. As she leaves, Declan walks in carrying more posters for Summer. They both head towards Summer's room, but Max stops them. He then sends Declan on a mission to find some space in the kitchen for the posters whilst he talks to Summer and tells her she can either spend time with Declan in the living room or no where at all.
Connor asks Lou whether, as far as he knows, is Trixie upset with him. Lou tells him, if she is, she's taking it out on his credit card. She's gone shopping with Rocco's wife. Lou then gets up to leave and asks whether he'll be OK to look after Carmella, and gleefully adds that after today she'll be out of their hair forever. After he leaves, Carmella tells Connor she doesn't know how he found out. Connor says he thinks he knows. She asks him to help her, because she doesn't want to go to Italy.
Steph is asking Joe whether Lyn told him about the seafood buffet. He tells her she did and asks where his share of the prawns are. Lyn, who is sorting through the toys tells Steph to take some of the food with her because they'd never get through it all. Joe adds that it's a shame Valda's gone because she'd have thought up a fair few ways to eat it and Lyn tells him she did, until she had to leave. Joe laughs and Lyn throws one of the toys at him. He leaves to go somewhere and Lyn says she should've kept it for her kids. Steph then tells her that she and Max probably won't have children.
Lyn tells Steph it's so selfish and what Max is denying her is the most precious thing in the world. Lyn then asks Steph if she could ever imagine not having a family of her own, and Steph agrees that she does want to have children.
Lou and Harold are walking back and forth along the hospital corridors and Lou is blabbing about the wedding gifts they got. Harold just grunts, though he's smiling he doesn't seem very interested. Lou says it was quite a wedding to remember, apart from Harold's "dramatic contribution to the event" he mentioned Valda's outburst. Harold laughs at that and says it was funny. That Lou's face looked like he'd been "slapped with a wet...cat".
Lou: Yeah very funny. You laughed so much, you laughed yourself into a stroke.
Summer looks over to Declan and says that watching other people kiss is so gross. He agrees. They both point out the flaws of hollywood kissing scenes and reach for the popcorn at the same time.
Their hands touch.
They look into one another eyes.
Then Max walks in.
He asks them if everything's ok. Summer tells him it is, and puts the TV volume higher to drown out anything else he has to say.
Max starts the lawnmower and looks back at the house.
Lyn and Steph are walking to the door. Lyn tells her to talk to Max just as Joe walks in. He tells Steph to come back for a meal so they can catch up properly. Lyn then asks how things went at the site and Joe tells her they didn't even offer him a cuppa. She tells him she'll make him one while he washes his hands. Once he's out of the room she runs off to see what Max and Steph are doing...
...Steph walks up to Max and asks whether he's working up a sweat. He says he's getting more hot and bothered about the lovebirds inside. Max says it's uncool for him to ask this, but asks it anyways. He wants her to keep an eye on them for him and Steph agrees.
Joe comes out of the bathroom and asks about that cuppa. She tells him the problem with Steph and Max and he tells her he understands. Max already has two kids, but Lyn insists that Max should've come clean about this before he and Steph had become an item and that even she and Joe had discussed children before they got married and since Steph and Max are living together, that equates to the same. Joe tells her (sounding almost the same as Karl) to not interfere.
Connor is eating his dinner when someone knocks at the door. He hugs Bob and sits tight. Carmella then calls out to him and Connor asks how he knows she's not with her father again and she insists she's alone. Connor eventually opens the door and she tells him her father wouldn't listen to her and she's come to Connor because he's the only person she can trust.
Summer and Declan are still talking about kissing and whether they hold their breath or not. Steph walks in with more munchies then leaves again.
Lyn asks Harold how long he thinks he'll be in the hospital for, but he just mumbles something. Joe gives him the buzzer but Harold knocks it back. Lyn then picks up the TV guide from the foot of the bed and gives it to Harold. Lou answers Lyn's question. Lyn then digs up a box of chocolates but Harold knocks them back as well and they all take that as a queue to...bugger off.
Summer and Declan just can't get enough of one another. Continually smiling at one another before finally picking the courage to...do it! Except I think their teeth knocked together or their noses. They both start complaining about how the other tastes and how that hurts. Steph then walks in to see what the fuss is about and asks if Summer wants to go and see Harold with them. Summer quickly jumps up and Steph offers to drop Declan at home, but he says he'll walk.
Summer, Max and Steph go into Harold's room and again that forced smile is adorned on his face. Summer immediately sits down on the bed besides Harold as they talk to him about how he looks. Summer then notices the chocolates and reaches out to them but Harold quickly snatches her hand back. She runs out of the room and Steph follows her and tells her that Harold is just not feeling himself.
Carmella walks in dressed in Connor's clothes presumably. They talk briefly about how she slept when Rocco starts banging at the door. Connor tells Carmella to hide under Toadie's bed while he lies himself out of the rut their in. He tells Rocco that Carmella did come, but he didn't let her stay and that if she did turn up, Rocco would be the first to know. Rocco seems convinced for now and leaves. Carmella then walks back in and says that was impressive. Connor tells her he's glad she liked it but he hopes he never has to do that again.
Max opens the door and Lyn is there, holding a plate of leftovers. He asks her to come in and asks about Joe. Lyn tells him Joe's ok, just miffed he missed Ozzy's first Christmas. She starts babbling on about how precious that first Christmas is unless "you're one of the lucky ones that gets to do it again." Max get the hint and they start talking about Steph and children. Max tells her it's between himself and Steph, and Lyn says she knows that but out of guilt for the cancer, she thinks Steph won't say anything. Max again tells her it's none of her business and tells her, rather rudely, to keep out of it.
