Taj asks Lori to choose the ring Nina might like from a store brochure. She answers that maybe if he can't decide what she'd like, he shouldn't be buying her a ring anyway. Jack gets Nina alone and asks why she didn't answer his call. She replies that it was because they're finished. He tells her about the call he received, which means somebody knows about them and insists she meet him later to work out what to do.
Lori meets Taj in the school corridor and shows him she took Boyd's clothes while he was in the shower. She feels he doesn't deserve a towel, but she's left him an item to preserve his modesty. To the amusement of all the passing students, he appears wearing a netball skirt asking who's got his clothes. He insists he's learned his lesson and she throws his clothes down, but the skirt's so short he can't bend down to pick it up.
Jack talks to Nina about the call. They're worried that whoever it is will tell taj or Lori and decide it will be better if they tell them themselves. Summer interrupts, insisting on help with a project about soccer. They get rid of her and decide to say it was just a moment of confusion. Nina wonders how she'd risk something so perfect for something so stupid. They just hope that Taj and Lori will understand.
Joe and Lyn are discussing their worry and sleeplessness when Michelle rings. Joe reacts very angrily and Michelle asks to speak to Lyn. She tells her that the only way Connor and she can be together is to get married for which she needs their permission. Joe breaks in from the other line, says no way and so Michelle hangs up. Connor tries to placate Michelle and persuade her to go home and discuss it with her parents. She walks off, saying there must be another way.
Nina and Jack discuss what they will tell Lori and taj. They'll say they were thrown in together because of the play, there was an attraction which they gave into, but now they can't understand why. Jack rings Lori and Nina leaves to tell Taj.
Lyn tries to calm Joe by pointing out Michelle and Connor are just in love and looking for a solution. Just then a parcel arrives from Valda - Lyn's bassinet from when she was a baby and a note saying sh looks forward to seeing them very soon. Lyn's thrilled but they wonder how and why Valda had it rather than her mother. Lyn says Valda had no children of her own. Joe goes on to say he's concerned about her pregnancy because Michelle's worrying her so much. He's sure he'll handle this new child differently.
In the Coffee Shop Boyd and Summer are having an argument over money. Jack tells Lori he thinks he hasn't been giving her enough time lately and tries to work up to telling her. When he gets flustered he goes to the counter to get a drink and overhears Boyd and Summer's argument. Boyd uses the phrase 'dirty little secret' so Jack confronts him. Summer says it was just a joke and Boyd admits it was them. They didn't know any secrets, were just playing as they were bored. Jack rings Nina but there's no reply, so he goes off quickly telling Lori he has to do something very important and will be back soon.
Nina meets Taj and says she has something important to tell him. He says he also has something to say and shows her the ring. She gets upset and says she'd love to accept it but can't.
