Recap
Connor asks Libby to help him to read.
Ray tells Dee that Toadie is not her type, and then kisses her.
Number 30
Dee struggles against Ray who is kissing her, she manages to push him off and slaps him in the face. Flick comes in to the lounge and shouts at Ray, she asks him if he is 'deaf or just stupid'
Dee looks shaken, and Flick comforts her, and asks if she is OK. Dee looks on still obviously upset.
Lou's Place
Drew and Libby are at the pub for dinner with Ben. Drew tells Libby that his dad wants to shout them a trip to Oakey that weekend. Libby asks what's the occasion, maybe just because he misses him. Drew says that he thinks it may be something more than that, as he was pretty keen for them to go. Don't do it Drew, it can only end in disaster.
Number 30
Dee asks Flick not to say anything to Toadie about what happened with Ray. It was a 'non-event' and she doesn't want Toadie to get angry. Flick tells her that it is serious and that she could have Ray charged with assault. Flick tells her that if he lets him get away with it he may do it to someone else, and she reminds her of her own experience with Mark. Dee looks awkward and doesn't seem keen to dwell on the matter. The conversation comes to an awkward standstill as Toadie arrives home, he asks why neither Dee or Ray were at the pub to meet him. They had arranged to meet Ray and his girlfriend at the pub. Dee tells Toadie that Ray has cancelled at the last minute, and that she would rather that they just had some time alone together. Toadie tellls Dee that Ray had probably decided to have a night in with his girlfriend too. Dee looks uneasy.
Number 26
Lyn is modelling a hideous green and blue choir jacket. Michelle ad Connor can't contain their sniggers. Joe tells her not to listen to them as she looks gorgeous, infact she always looks gorgeous. Joe decides to give her a shoulder massage, to loosen up the vocal chords. Lyn comments that she is enjoying all the attention, and then stops in her tracks asking Joe if he 'The B word' is back on the agenda, to which Joe gives her a knowing smile.
Michelle and Connor ask what the B word is, Joe and Lyn look uneasy as they realise that it is not an issue that they are ready to discuss with the family yet. They have to think on their feet, and come up with a ridiculous excuse saying that they meant 'The D word' it takes Lyn a few seconds to actually formulate what the D word may be, and eventually decides that it is dinner, as if they could not feel anymore awkward they hastily make their excuses, and disappear into the kitchen. Michelle and Connor look baffled:
MICHELLE: They are *so* weird
CONNOR; I know, actually I hope we don't end up like that when we are their age.
Number 30
It's after three, and Dee asks Toadie what he is still doing up? He tells her that he can't sleep because he is feeling a bit stressed. He has heard from Stuart that Ray was lying about having a girlfriend, and that he was still interested in Dee. Poor Toadie looks worried as he tells Dee this last part looking for clues on Dee's face, reassurance from Dee that he is the one that she wants. She of course obliges, she tells him that if she never sees Ray again it will be too soon, and Toadie looks delighted. To further reassure him Dee kisses him, and asks him if it is reassurance enough.
Toadie tells her that he has been so worried about that, and he should have said something sooner, and they are all about trust and honesty, he feels as though he had been keeping something from Dee for not saying anything. Dee could not look anymore guilty or awkward, obviously thinking about whether she should tell Toadie about what happened with Ray. Toadie can see that there is something on Dee's mind and asks what she is thinking. She has obviously decided to leave the matter and tells Toadie that she is thinking 'Bed' and Toadie seems keen on the idea, and hastily follows Dee out of the lounge.
Coffee Shop
Connor arrives looking for Libby, she tells him that he is a bit keen as she hasn't prepared the lesson, it's not for another hour. He tells her that it's not that, he is there to ask if he can tend her lawns as a repayment for all the help that she has been giving him.
Number 26
Joe is still fussing over Lyn and she says that she could get used to it. Joe tells her that he is practising in case he has to fuss over her a lot soon. 'The B word' (or is that D word, they are keen discussing dinner just after breakfast) comes up again. They decide that they should let nature take its course. If it's not going to happen naturally then they are not going to go as far as IVF. Lyn starts to get excited about the prospect of having another baby, and gushes over 'little finger and little toes' Joe tells her that it might be a good idea if they talk it over with the kids before they go ahead. Lyn doesn't look too keen on the idea, she is perhaps anticipating the fact that they might not be as keen on the idea of another sibling.
Lassiters
Darcy has prescribed amoxycillin for Ben's ear infection, Drew asks if it will still be OK for Ben to fly to Oakey that weekend, Darcy tells him that it is not a good idea, as his ear is inflamed. Drew looks on disappointed.
Libby's Garden
Connor is having his reading lesson, he is apologising to Libby for the length of time it is taking him to complete the tasks. Libby shows that she is a patient and understanding teacher, and tells Connor that he is a smart guy. She tries a new approach, and decides to use the street sign as a prompt. Connor seems to be getting a grasp of what he is being taught, and is looking more keen on reading lessons, just as Michelle is putting the bin out to the street. Michelle notices that Connor seems to be enjoying himself. She looks put out and upset that Libby seems to be a better teacher than she was.
Number 30
Just as Toadie leaves to go to the library Flick arrives to speak to Dee.
DEE: No prizes for guessing why you're here.
FLICK: Haven't you told him yet?
Dee goes on to tell Flick that there is no point, and that by telling Toadie what happened with Ray, it would only be a further blow to his ego. Flick tells her that Dee should not be putting up with guys like Ray treating her badly because she wants to protect her boyfriend. She mentions that these things have a way of getting out, and that it would be better if Toadie heard it from Dee first. Not for the first time in Flick's company Dee looks awkward and uneasy. It's obvious that Dee doesn't relish the idea of relaying this particular story to Toadie. Hardly the most appropriate pillow talk now is it?
Coffee Shop
Drew tells Libby that his dad wants him in Oakey on a business matter, Libby tells him that he should go ahead and go, and she and Ben will join him later when Ben's infection clears up. In a very funny scene, Ray walks in notices Flick and asks how she is, Flick completely blanks him and walks away. Ray must have been wondering why any woman would fail to fall for his charms.
Number 26
Connor decides that he is going to make chocolate milkshakes and asks Michelle to pass him the bottle. When she does he tells her that he wants the real thing 'none of this diet stuff'. He realises that he has managed to read the label! He and Michelle get very excited, but when Connor leaves immediately to go and tell Libby, Michelle is left dejected. Later Michelle is sulking on the sofa, she tells Flick that she is jealous that it is Libby who is teaching Connor to read and not her. Flick tells her that it's only natural that she would feel like that, but she has nothing to worry about as it is obvious to everyone how crazy Connor is about her. Michelle looking slightly more reassured tells Flick that she and Connor have made plans to go to Ireland together when he learns to read.
Number 30
Dee tells Toadie that she lied to him about Ray. Toadie looks worried that Dee is about to tell him that she and Ray are having an affair, but she assures him that Ray tried to hit on her, and she doesn't want anything to do with him. Dee tells him that he has nothing to worry about as she has chosen him. Toadie wonders why she didn't tell him before, she says that it was because she didn't want him to feel threatened. Toadie asks why Ray still decided to hit on her when he knew that Dee was with Toadie. Dee reluctantly tells him and the scene cuts to the pub.
Lou's Place
Toadie confronts Ray, shouting at the top of his voice, with passion in his voice for the subject matter he is informing Ray of.
RAY: Toadie, g'day mate
TOADIE: Don't pretend that you are happy to see me Ray
RAY: I'm sorry?
TOADIE: Yes you are, you are one sorry cretin aren't you.
RAY: Look mate you've lost me I don't understand
TOADIE: The sad thing is that you probably never will, Ray. You see I know you, I've know people like you all my life, I've been dealing with people like you all my life, and I'm pretty well jack of it!! Do you want to know why Dee loves me? It's because of who I am, it's in here, it's my heart. It's got nothing to do with how good looking I am, or whether or not I wear the right clothes, and you actually think that you can come between that? You better think again you loser! Why don't you do everybody a favour and crawl back under the rock you came sliding out from!!!
Ray is looks gobsmacked, and at a loss of what to say.
TOADIE: Well, go on!!
Ray leaves the pub, and Toadie gets a round of applause. He looks indignant but still a little hurt.
Number 26
The Scullys are having a family meeting, They broach the subject of having another baby, by asking how they feel about Ben, Flick seems confused, Michelle says nothing. After another awkward exchange Lyn asks how they would feel about them having another baby. Flick is immediately excited, but Michelle is not as agreeing.
MICHELLE: At your age? It's disgusting and wrong...
