Recap
Lance is given a choice on the radio quiz - take the money, or come back tomorrow and risk it all.
Susan tells the class that there's been a bomb threat made about the school. The kids evacuate. On the way out, Jess tells Tad that she told him they wouldn't have to do the assignment. Tad is shocked.
The School
All the kids are evacuating and the police arrive. Susan is inside shepherding the stragglers out.
No.30
Allana is testing Lance on sample quiz questions about science fiction. Lance is very good and answers all of them. Lance says that if he keeps winning, he could win them a fortune. Allana says that they just need enough to get them there. Lance agrees to stopping at $2000. Lance says he won't gamble unnecessarily.
The Coffee Shop
Harold is putting poster up for the fashion show. He tries to enlist Karl but he laughs. Harold mentions that Paul had a lot of bumps and bruises after football training. Also he's been told to bulk up and ate 3 bowls of cereal this morning. Karl says it's unnecessary. He says all Paul needs is reassurance to keep him on the straight and narrow. Harold deduces that Karl means that the kids might use steroids and Harold is shocked. Karl says it won't happen while he's team doctor.
The School
Paul is suspicious that Jess has phoned in the bomb threat. Tad defends her. Susan also looks a bit suspicious.
The Allotment
Lance is gardening and Allana is still asking him quiz questions. She gives him a good luck necklace that she made out of the piece of the satellite that Lance found - she says it's good luck. Lance looks guilty and says there's something he has to tell her.
The Coffee Shop
Harold is reading the Agony Aunt column aloud. Harold catches Madge out with a trick question. Madge blusters that she got confused, but it's not good - Harold has sprung her. She finally admits it. Harold is delighted to have caught her out!
The Allotment
Lance is telling Allana that he cheated about the satellite piece. He did try but got electrocuted on an electric fence. Allana isn't cross though, she tells him she doesn't mind - at least he tried. She asks him more quiz questions.
The Coffee Shop
Harold is berating Madge about being open and honest. She says agony aunts have to remain anonymous and she's not going to tell Tad and Paul. Madge suddenly has a little dizzy spell. She tells Harold to leave her in peace.
Lance and Allana come in. They ask Harold if there's any more gardening to be done. Harold is distracted and excuses himself.
Principal's Office
Susan has interviewed Paul and has now moved on to Tad. She's asking everyone if they know anything about the bomb threat. Tad doesn't know anything.
Radio Station
The quiz host introduces Lance. They chat about the Labours of Love. Lance is cornered into telling him the story about when he peed on an electric fence! The host laughs. Then he goes on to the big question - "Name three people who have been Captain of the Enterprise."
Principal's Office
Jess thinks she's the chief suspect for the bomb threat. She denies it rudely to Susan. Susan is very annoyed with her. Jess says Susan has had it in for her ever since she came to Erinsborough High. Susan says she'll be in touch with her parents. Jess says to let her know if she manages it - it would be nice to catch up(!)
Radio Station
Lance is about to answer the question for $1000. He answers James T Kirk, Spock and McCoy. He's right - he's won the money.
Lance goes for the double or nothing question. The question is, "In which episode does Picard surrender to the Ferengi?" Lance corrects the host's pronounciation(!) and then answers correctly - "Peak Performance". He's correct.
The host asks Lance if he wants to come back next week and risk the $2000. Lance thinks about it. Behind him Allana is trying to wave "no". Lance says he will come back. Allana storms off.
The Coffee Shop
Tad says whoever rang in the bomb threat did them a favour - now they can finish their assignment properly. Jess says if the bomb had gone off they wouldn't have had to finish it at all. Tad asks about Susan ringing her parents, but Jess says that her parents wait until the school call a couple of times before they do anything.
Bishops
Paul is making a milkshake. He think Madge looks a bit funny. Madge tells Paul that he has enough bulk as it is. She tells him if he gets fat, it won't help his football career.
No.30
Lance is leaving another message on Allana's answering machine, but just then she comes in. She tells him that she wanted him to stop at $2000. She says it's gambling, but Lance says it's skill, not chance. Allana is really worried that they'll lose the money. Lance tells her not to worry.
Bishops
Paul tells Tad he's suspicious about Jess and the bomb threat. Tad defends her, but Paul says that Jess is sucking him in. They hear a car horn. Tad looks out and sees a fantastic car outside. Paul mentions that Madge seemed a bit tired and sick before.
Tad goes out and joins Jess in the fantastic car. Tad asks Jess about the bomb threat, but she distracts him by kissing him. She then drives them off.
No.30
Lance and Allana are looking for something to eat for dinner. Dave the producer of the quiz show on the radio station rings up and asks Lance if he'll meet him. Lance is excited - he says maybe he'll give him his own radio show(!) He tells Allana that he thinks it's a turning point for him.
