Madge reads a letter from Sarah and Peter explaining why they didn't attend their parties. Tad calls Peter on his mobile to get them to come back (they're at a restaurant), when it rings Sarah says he should answer it because it might be important. He turns the mobile off and says nothing's more important than her. They kiss. Sarah and Peter return to Ramsay Street the next morning and immediately meet Lou, he tells them that the parties were enjoyable despite their absences! Lou asks Sarah what time she wants to be picked up for the wedding, but she says her Mum is going to drive her because they won't have much time to be together otherwise. Drew offers to take Louise to her next swimming class, Lou is wary at first because he doesn't want to be seen to not be taking his parental duties seriously, but as soon as Drew mentions that he might lose out on money if he's away from work too long, Lou starts to change his mind! Drew heads off to the swimming pool and meets Joel, they talk about Geri again. Drew tells him that he's not after her and, unconvincingly, that he's not after Libby anymore either. Joel can see straight through him! Peter's best man, Trent Rushworth, arrives. Toadfish calls to say he has food poisoning and can't make it down for the wedding. Susan buys a very expensive dress for the wedding, obviously feeling quite self conscious about the whole affair. Libby reveals that she isn't going and has got another photographer (Rob) to take the pictures for her article. Drew sees Libby at the Coffee Shop later and unsuccessfully tries to get her to change her mind and come to the wedding. Karl has to go on a housecall and it looks like he might miss the ceremony, Susan gets all dressed up but thinks twice about going on her own without Karl. Libby comes home and talks to her, then decides that she's going to go after all - if only to be moral support for her Mum. She calls the other photographer and asks if they can swap back. Amy is making a wedding video and starts it in the morning when Sarah and Peter get back. She also tries to help Sarah get ready but gets under her feet more than anything else and insults her new hair-do! Sarah later asks her about Damien and Tad asks why he's not coming to the wedding, she makes up another excuse about him having a flight to go on. Amy treads on one of Sarah's shoes and breaks off the heel, Sarah says she can fix it with super-glue and finally manages to get rid of Tad and Amy. She breathes a sigh of relief... until the phone rings - it's her Mum and she's not going to be able to make it there in time. Sarah is obviously devastated, but that soon turns to panic when she realises that she hasn't got anyone to drive her to the wedding and everyone else has already left. She runs out and almost catches Susan and Libby, but they don't see her. She calls around to get a taxi but there is a big football match on and no-one can get to her soon enough. Meanwhile, everyone is gathering at the church waiting for her to arrive. Sarah resorts to thumbing a lift and handily Karl returns from his house call just in time. She explains things quickly to him and he offers to take her, even though it might raise a few eyebrows. She says that's better than missing her wedding... but there's one more thing - she asks him to help her put on her dress as the buttons have got to be done up at the back. |
