Madge's syndicate numbers come up on the lottery in second place and they are set to win a couple of thousand dollars each. Harold comes in and is pleased to hear the news until he realises that he forgot to put the ticket on - he takes it out of his back pocket but doesn't have the heart to tell Madge. Madge ponders what to spend her money on, she gets a call from one of the other syndicate members and they discuss what they'll do with the money. However, Madge's happiness is shattered when Harold reveals that he forgot to lodge the entry. The next morning she rings around the other syndicate members and blames herself, Harold says she should have let him call them and tell the truth. He apologises again but Madge storms out. At the Coffee Shop later, Harold takes her aside and says he realises there is something wrong with him because he keeps forgetting things. Madge says she needs time to calm down, she recognises he's sorry but she wants to be angry at the moment. Harold goes to the allotment later and meets Lou who is spraying the weeds. Lou knows about the lottery disaster and teases Harold, who surprises him by retaliating angrily and then walking off. Drew goes swimming with Joel and talks to him about Geri. Drew asks Joel what went on with him and her and Joel says that if he's interested in her he'd better watch it because she's extremely pushy, even though she looks good in a swimsuit! Joel starts to feel the strain on his knee after the swim but doesn't let on. Amy is excited at the prospect of being Sarah's bridesmaid. Peter offers to tell Lou that the wedding car is a bit over-the-top but whenever he tries to, Lou interrupts. However, later Lou hears from the hire car company that he can't get the wedding car and is worried that he's going to let Sarah down, he tries to find another car just like it but luckily for her and Peter, he can't! Tad offers to help Sarah and Peter with wedding arrangements but they say they really just want a quiet afternoon in, he gets the wrong end of the stick and slopes off. Sarah goes to patch things up with him. Sarah and Peter both have problems on their hands when their friends organise hen and bucks nights that neither of them really want. Lou takes over the boys arrangements and Amy works for the girls. Lou lets Tad join in with the boys. Sarah asks Bill to keep an eye on Peter and make sure nothing happens to him, Bill makes a comment that hens nights are never the same as bucks nights and so Amy says that he's totally wrong - Sarah's party is going to be wild. Sarah sees Lou and makes another request that he doesn't go over-the-top, but later Lou tells Peter that he's heard of a little place in a back lane - presumably a strip club! Sarah's friends (including hospital mates Kate, Debbie, Mary, Melissa and Nat) all gather at Number 30 for her hens night and Peter's mates all gather at Number 22 for his bucks night. However, the happy couple have escaped it all for a quiet meal at a restaurant. The boys head back to Number 30 when Peter doesn't turn up and Madge finds a note from them both that explains everything. Tad calls Peter on his mobile to get them to come back, when it rings Sarah says he should answer it because it might be important. He turns the mobile off and says nothing's more important than her. They kiss. |
