Karl is examining Tad's arm while Harold's tuba playing is going on in the background. Karl says Tad's arm is only strained. He puts Tad's arm in a sling. Tad asks Karl to talk to Toadie about his arm because he'll freak. Karl says Toadie is doing his best with Tad.
Bishops
Harold is still practising his tuba. Madge brings him a cup of tea. Madge says that four hours of straight tuba playing is too much for anyone(!). Harold says he feels confident about the audition. They talk about retirement again. Harold says he's going to study music seriously. Madge doesn't look too chuffed. She says if he spends more hours on the tuba than he does now, she'll divorce him(!).
The Pub
Karl and Lou are chatting about Bill's business. Lou thinks Bill has a good business plan but Karl isn't as enthusiastic - he says most businesses fail in their first year.

Sarah's mother is handing out herbal tea. Tad tries his but thinks it is disgusting. Bess says the hospital were thrilled with the money from the Full Monty. Sarah doesn't want to talk about it though after the way the hospital treated her.
The Coffee Shop
Harold is worried about his audition. Madge sends him home. Lou comes in. He says the building inspector is coming around to Little Tommy Tucker's - Lou thinks someone has it in for him.
The Pub
The building inspector comes in. He has already seen Little Tommy Tucker's. It is full of structural faults and will have to be condemned or repaired at a cost of $200,000.
The Coffee Shop
George Caruana is on the radio. Lou is annoyed by him. He tells Madge about the situation with Little Tommy Tucker's. Madge says he only bought it as a tax write-off, but Lou is still cross that he is being victimised.
Uni FM
Lou has come to complain about George Caruana. George Caruana himself comes out and Lou says he's pulling his radio station sponsorship. George Caruana invites Lou to come on his radio show and express his opinion. Lou agrees.

Tad is bemoaning the fact that all the girls are after Paul and not him. Sarah comes in in a bad mood. She says no hospital will employ her with a dismissal hanging over her head. Her mother is insufferably cheerful about the situation and Sarah snaps at her. Her mother says that things could be worse. Sarah wishes her mother would mind her own business.
Uni FM
George Caruana is introducing Lou. Lou tells George off for bad-mouthing him on the radio. George says that he didn't mention Lou by name. Lou says he'll withdraw Little Tommy Tucker's sponsorship. George says he knows that Little Tommy Tucker's has been condemned.
The Coffee Shop
Madge is listening to Lou on the radio. Harold comes in and says he failed the audition. He is very disappointed.
The Pub
George comes in and insults Lou. He says Lou has slashed his tyres but Lou denies it. He says he's going to the cops and Lou says he can use his phone(!). George says he'll announce it on the radio, but Lou says if he does he'll sue him for slander. Lou says loads of people hate George so it could have been anyone. He tells him to pop into the garage for some new tyres. George stalks off.
The Coffee Shop
Apparently Harold has not actually been told he has failed the audition, he just surmised as much. He is very dejected. Madge is trying to console him. She suggests he practises more - maybe in the garage(!). Harold says he has to know his limitations. Madge says giving up is no example to set for Paul. She says even if he continues to try and fails she'd still be proud of him. She's not at all proud of him at the moment.

Sarah's mother brings her some coffee. Sarah is looking for jobs in the paper, but there's only telemarketing jobs. Bess asks why Sarah is so passionate about becoming a nurse. Sarah says she wants to help people. Bess says there's other ways of helping people, but Sarah thinks nursing is special. Bess suggests helping the planet by getting a job with Greenpeace. Sarah says she wants to help people, not whales(!). Bess suggests charity work, but Sarah insists that she's not her mother and never will be. She says Bess needs to stop ignoring her family.
The Pub
Lou and Karl are bemoaning the end of Little Tommy Tucker's. Karl says he's had a look at Bill's workspace and mentions that it's big enough to keep a motorbike in(!). He claims Susan is in agreement but then admits she hates the idea!

Sarah is telling her mother that she's never been there for her emotionally and the Catherine feels the same way. She wishes she'd put them first instead of her crusades for the environment. Her mother tells her to grow up.
