Bill asking Amy to be his partner for a competition to win a trip to Queensland. The spin-the-wheel lands on "Half-hour kiss".
Bill doesn't want to do the kiss. Toadie starts the competition (some couples have already started). Toadie goes round and inspects the couples. Bill and Amy are kissing very awkwardly, but after a while they start to get into it. Toadie mocks them a bit and Bill and Amy stop kissing. They both look very guilty.
The Coffee Shop
Tad can't wait to start school because of the "babe factor"(!). Two girls come in and recognise Paul from when he was wearing the French T-shirt a few weeks ago. Paul introduces them to Tad. They don't seem too impressed and chat up Paul.
Bill and Amy sit outside with a drink. They are both awkward with each other. Bill apologises for bringing Amy into the competition. Amy says that Anne would understand and Bill says she'd be cool with it. Amy goes off to walk the dog, but it's clear she doesn't want to be with Bill.
Harold is heard practising the tuba in the background. Bill comes in. Susan asks him how the competition went but he is evasive. He ends up telling Susan about the kiss, though.
Susan says she's got some paid carpentry work for Bill. Bill is keen, but when it turns out to be a chopping board he isn't too keen! Susan gives him a voucher for the hardware store to help Bill get started with his business. He's pleased and goes straight off to buy tools and an off-cut for a chopping board!
Tad opens a card from Sarah containing a naked shot of Tad in the shower(!). Tad says he'll take the photo to school to show to all the babes(!). Tad jokes about the prosthetic arm but Toadie tells them a scary story about the real owner of the arm. He says the ghost of the bloke will be getting them up in the middle of the night.
When Tad isn't looking, Paul nicks the naked photo.
No.30, in the middle of the night
Toadie and Tad are asleep in the living room (Sarah's mum is still staying). Tad awakes to scary noises and ghostly lights. He is scared and tries to wake Toadie up. But Toadie only mumbles in his sleep about Sarah(!).
No.30, the following morning
Joel's physiotherapist has come to see him.
Tad and Paul talk to a couple of girls from school. Paul asks one of them if Hannah has written to her lately. He probes how she is. Paul says she sounds different in her letters to him. He also asks if Hannah has met someone but the girl is evasive.
The physiotherapist is working on some exercises with Joel. She is disappointed in his progress. Joel admits that he hasn't been exercising every day. She suggests she take him out to the pool to do some exercises. She isn't sure how Joel feels about water after the accident though.
Tad is eyeing up the girls. When Tad isn't looking, Paul sticks the nakes picture to Tad's locker. They start fighting over it. Two girls walking by see the photo and laugh.
Eventually Susan comes by and breaks up their fight. She takes them off to her office.
Garden of No.30
Joel is in his swimming trunks. He sits on the edge of the pool. He is agitated and started having flashbacks to when he was trapped under the water. After a while he jolts back from the pool saying he can't do it. He is really panic-stricken.
Tad and Paul have had a row from Susan but they are friends again. Tad tells Paul off from coming round in the night and tapping on the window. Paul says he didn't. two girls go past and whistle at Tad - apparently they liked the photo(!).
Joel is really fed up but his physiotherapist encourages him and says they'll try again another day. She takes his hand. Toadie comes in at that moment and thinks he's interrupting something. The physiotherapist goes off to her next appointment.
Joel is still spooked about the pool. He thoughtfully tells Toadie that he might ask Karl for some counselling and get some regular physiotherapy. Toadie is very enthusiastic and supportive. He also teases Joel that Clooney (the physiotherapist) is just the girl to help him(!)
Bill and Amy bump into each other. Bill apologises for kissing Amy so much and Amy says she hopes it won't wreck their friendship. Bill says that it didn't mean anything. Susan drives up and Bill and Amy part awkwardly.
Tad and Paul are chatting with the two girls from school about films. Tad says he'd be a stuntman because of his fit body!. Tad jumps on to a car and asks one of the girls if she'll walk to school with him tomorrow. Unfortunately he overbalances before they can answer. The girls think he is demonstrating his prowess as a stuntman(!). But Tad has really hurt himself and Paul runs off to get Karl.
