The Swimming Baths
Billy thumps away at the door, furious that he's shut in with Caitlin who thinks that he's over-reacting. She tells him to see the situation as a positive thing - this is the first time they've had to sit down and talk about Sydney. He tells her he mucked up in Sydney, and hurt Anne, but he doesn't want to hurt her any more.
Outside the changing rooms, Anne approaches Mandi asking her where Billy is, and Mandi tells her he's in the changing rooms, she thinks. Anne makes her way to the changing rooms and hears Billy thumping at the door. She demands the key off of Mandi, who hands it over, and lets Billy out. Caitlin makes a catty comment, and Anne tells Caitlin that she's stooped too desperately low, this time.
Anne leads Billy off, both of them pleased to be able to catch the last showing at the movies. Caitlin is left furious.
Number 22
Darren and Libby arrive to find Lou and Toadie watching cable TV. Darren and Libby comment on Karl's mood, and that he went to bed too early for him. Lou says he's going to get an early night, too, so Darren and Lib go to the pub alone. Toadie is fixated on the TV!
The Coffee Shop
Caitlin tells Mandi that Ben might never wake up, just as Billy and Anne arrive for a drink. Caitlin tells Anne the latest news on Ben, that he might not wake up. Caitlin apologises for what happened at the pool earlier, claiming it was meant to be a joke, and Anne accepts. Caitlin once again deviously smiles, knowing she's got Anne back onside.
Number 22
Toadie is watching car racing on the new cable channels, as one of the cars crashes. He reacts to the crash, just as Lou storms downstairs, fuming that Toadie is watching this sort of television. Lou is angry, and reminds him that this isn't funny when it happens in real life, and then calms down, saying he'll get an early night.
The next morning Darren finds Lou up early, as he didn't sleep well. Darren suggests that Lou needs to talk about this to someone - he needs to sort out how he feels about things at the moment; one moment he's okay, the next he's flying into a rage. Darren tells him that he can't continue like this - what if Lolly witnesses these moods?
Darren suggests a doctor, but Lou reacts furiously, and storms off.
Number 32
Anne is getting ready for school, and Ruth is wearing a frighteningly stripy jumper. Ruth tells her daughter she'll be at the hospital today, and Anne thinks her mum is spending too much time there. Ruth tells her daughter that she knows she hasn't been around too much, and that this is an important year for her at school. Anne kisses her mum goodbye, and then tells her that Ben will be okay.
Erinsborough Hospital
Caitlin turns up at the hospital, with MysteryMan Geoff standing by his side. Geoff says he's just been making Ben a bit more comfortable, and Caitlin chats to Ben. She tells Geoff that she's Ben's adopted sister, and Geoff seems a little too interested in Ben's whole family. Geoff asks after Ruth, and Caitlin says that she's nice, she has her own family with twins, and Ben was thrilled when he found out.
Caitlin says that Ben's her big brother, and they'll always been really close.
Erinsborough High School
Billy has walked Anne to school, and thinks it's weird, coming here yet not actually being at school anymore. He kisses her goodbye, before running into Caitlin who tells him that their swimming coach wasn't impressed that he didn't turn up to training this morning.
Caitlin tells him that he shouldn't try to avoid her - they live in the same street.
Wangaratta High School
Susan picks up the phone to Billy who wants to come and see his mum, get out of Erinsborough for a while. He'd also like to see her new house and how things are. Susan is thrilled he's coming up, and is convinced that something's wrong. She tells him to come up to the school and she'll see him there. Billy tells Dahl that he can avoid Caitlin if he's not in Erinsborough...!
Number 22
Billy turns up and finds Toadie examining his birthday presents. Billy hands his present over, and - two tickets to a gig next month! Toadie is thrilled, but tells Bill that his birthday is going to be a disaster as he has no friends to go out with. Billy drops the bombshell - he's going to Susan's tonight, too, so he can't be there, either...
Number 32
Anne returns home and tells her mum she has had the most hideous day at school - they went to see Eden Hills, the school they're supposed to be merging with - and everyone there hates the Erinsborough students. She announces that she's going to see Billy, and Ruth tells her that Bill dropped round earlier to say he was going to Wangaratta. Anne is gobsmacked.
Number 22
Darren arrives home and sees Toadie all fed up because he's got no-one to go out with on his birthday. Darren offers to take him for a drink down at the pub where Libby has a shift on. Then they could go clubbing together. Toadie is really pleased and goes to get ready.
Lou's Place
Toadie is enjoying his first session at the pub, and Darren tells Libby that it's Toadie's eighteenth birthday. He manages to wangle a couple of beers on the house from her, and she tells them that Lou has been grouchy all day, and he's currently in the cellar. The three of them toast Toadie's birthday.
Wangaratta - Susan's House
Susan has shown Billy round the house, and they make their way into the back garden; it reminds Billy of their house when he was younger and they lived in the country. Susan knows that Billy came up here on Toadie's birthday for a reason, and she wants to know what it is.
He confesses that it's about him and Caitlin - there's still this physical attraction between them which is making life very difficult for him and Anne. Susan asks if he has encouraged her, and Billy tells her that he's made his feelings clear, but then Caitlin tried to kiss him at the swimming pool. He kissed her back for a second... Susan tells her son that he can't have it both ways - he either wants to be with Anne or he doesn't. Billy says he needs space to work it out, he loves Anne, he really does. And Susan points out that he needs to start earning Anne's trust.
Susan tells him that she and Karl would not have lasted two months let alone over twenty years if they hadn't trusted each other. And they've made each other very happy, and been good role models to their kids, too. Billy agrees, but says that he's as weak as water! Susan tells him to make a stand against Caitlin and make it now - or he risks losing Anne forever.
Lou's Place
Toadie tells Darren that he's had a great birthday thanks to him and Libby, and is pleased that he had somewhere to go. Lou appears and lets rip at Toadie for drimking underage in the pub. Toadie tries to explain that it's his birthday, but Lou won't listen - and won't listen to Libby or Darren, either. Lou tells Toadie to get out - he doesn't want to see him again.
After Toadie is kicked out, Darren tells Lou that it's Toadie's birthday today, and without any friends or family he's had a miserable time - and now Lou has completely wrecked it.
