Rick tells Mark that he's still interested in Cody, but he quite likes Cassandra as well. He has a weird feeling about Cassandra though.

Danni comes in and tells them that Artie Goldberg has given her a recording contract. They are surprised, but pleased for her. Danni isn't sure how to tell the rest of the band.

No.28
Doug is looking at the map trying to work out the quickest route to the hospital. Pam says first babies don't come very fast, although she has to admit that Adam was an exception(!) And even if Gaby is in the same position, Pam is more than capable of delivering the baby at home.

Cody can't wait to be an aunt! She tells them about Artie Goldberg and is excited that he might potentially want to manage the band. They laugh derisively and Cody is offended.

Pub
Cassandra and Rick are talking about cocktails. At a table, Elliot is telling Annalise that she needs to follow up her book with another one. He wants her to publish overseas, in England. In fact, he's already sent a copy of her book to a publisher in London.

ELLIOT: London is the place for you. I'm going to make sure you get there.

Annalise looks pleased.

Coffee Shop
Danni breaks the news to Brett and Cody that Artie Goldberg wants her as a solo artist. She tells them she feels awful about it. They're disappointed, but generously tell Danni that she should go for it.

BRETT: I'm going to be the brother of a star!

Pub
Cassandra tells Rick that she's interested in him professionally as well as personally. She asks about his working conditions and thinks he could do better, because he's very good at his job.

CASSANDRA: My father's the sort of man who would appreciate someone like you.
RICK: Is that right? And who is your father?
CASSANDRA: He's the owner of Parkside Pacific.

Annalise tells them that Elliot is coming over to ring a publisher in London. Mark stiffly tells her that sounds fine. An awkward conversation ensues.

Gaby still hasn't had the baby. Faye has been ringing constantly(!)

Pam and Doug head off to work and give Cody a lift to school.

As they're leaving, Rick comes in to see Gaby.

RICK: It's about my contract. I think I'm being under- trained and under- paid.
GABY: Look, Rick, as far as I'm concerned, this isn't the time to be discussing contracts or negotiations with you.
RICK: I'm sorry Gab, but life still goes on. I know you're about to have a baby.
GABY: I am aware of that. But one of the reasons I don't want to discuss it right now is that it may not be up to me.
RICK: Well, how come?
GABY: Rosemary Daniels. I imagine she'll want to have a say in *everything* now she's a major shareholder.
RICK: Oh...so where does that leave me?
GABY: Not that sure where that leaves *any* of us.

School
Brett has borrowed a ghetto blaster from the common room. They listen to their tape and they sound terrible!

Pub
Elliot suggests that he and Annalise have dinner. Annalise doesn't want to as she doesn't want to upset Mark. She explains that they are now sleeping in separate rooms but are still friends.

Mark is looking sad. To a musical accompaniment, he crushes up bit of his model boat.

Faye is on the phone again and Gaby tells her to stop ringing as she's driving her crazy! She'll ring her when something happens.

Mark pops round for a chat. He tells her that his father has invited him to go around Australia with him, but he's not sure they'll get on. Mark admits that his Dad does have a lot of good points too, and he is tempted to go on the trip.

Gaby says he should go for it while he's in a position to do so.

Cassandra tells Rick that her father is eager to meet him. Rick wants to show loyalty to Lassiter's, but she tells him Parkside Pacific is offering a *very* good opportunity and he shouldn't miss it.

School
Artie Goldberg has come to find Danni. He wants her to do a photo shoot for his Japanese contacts. He gives her his business card and tells her to ring him tonight.

Pub
Rick has called Phil in to talk about his contract. Phil is not pleased and tells Rick he's not indispensible, and if he doesn't stop wasting his time he'll be out of a job!

Coffee Shop
Mark and Danni chat about her amazing future as a singer(!)

Pam has rung the birthing centre to tell them that Gaby is very close to giving birth. Phil pops round give Doug Mark's video camera. He wishes Gaby all the best for the birth. He looks very stressed!

When Phil has gone, Doug shows them a map with pins in it. He's worked out all the routes to the hospital!

DOUG: I don't want my first grandchild being born in the back of a taxi!
PAM: Well, it didn't do your first son any harm(!)

Doug wants to do a test run of the preferred route and proceeds to explain the reports in boring detail(!)

Elliot is about to ring London and Annalise is a bit nervous. Mark is stiffly polite to them. Rick pops in and tried to talk to Annalise about his bar job, but she fends him off.

No.28
Cody is a bit nervous about being Gaby's birthing partner. Rick tells her that nobody values his work at the bar, so he's organised a meeting with Parkside Pacific. Cody says that Rick is the Face of Lassiter's! Rick says they don't seem to appreciate him.

No.30
Elliot has tried to call London, but it's a bit early there yet. Mark makes them a coffee. Elliot explains that the chap in London is interested in Annalise's book.

When Annalise is out of the room, Elliot tells Mark that his relationship with Annalise is purely platonic. Mark isn't happy to hear that Annalise told Elliot it was over between her and Mark.
