Recap
Annalise cries to Mark about Luke - the man who claimed that he was her brother but was just a con artist.
Phil makes Michael promise that he won't see Cody - Pam's expressed a wish to Phil that Cody and Michael shouldn't mix.
Brett finds out from Cheryl that he's got a job at Lou's.
Cody tries to get Michael to sneak out of his room, not relenting when he says he can't.
Gaby's in the Coffee Shop when Annalise enters, loaded up with bags. Whilst Gaby's retail therapy was evidently because of Jack, Annalise's need to shop is more of a mystery to Gaby as she's happily settled with Mark. Annalise informs Gaby that Mark isn't the source of her misery - it's Luke and she's been through hell because of him. Instead of dwelling on what's been the worst holiday ever, the two decide to talk about nicer things and Annalise brings up the subject of flying. Gaby insists that she doesn't feel like it but Annalise tells her that she can't avoid it just because of Jack. She reminds Gaby that she'd promised to take Annalise and seeing as they both need cheering up, there's no time like the present. Defeated, Gaby gives in and the pair arrange to fly the following morning.
Over at 24, Brett's called round to thank Lou for the job. Lou tells him to come back in a month to see if he'll still thank him after he's put him through the hoops. Brett asks what he'll be doing and Lou tells him that he'll be washing cars, vacuuming cars and scrubbing hubcaps til they gleam! Lou then steers the conversation onto Cheryl and asks how things are at home. Brett, slightly puzzled, asks what he means and Lou explains that Cheryl was always busy just running the pub - having Brett and Danni land on her doorstep must've turned things upside down a bit and made it more difficult for Cheryl to have a social life. Brett grins and asks if Lou's on about him and Cheryl dating. Lou remarks that Brett believes in being upfront but gives a smile when Brett reveals that Cheryl likes him.
Pam's reading in 28 when Gaby comes in loaded with shopping. Pam asks if there's any boutiques left in Erinsborough with stock and can't believe Gaby's bought more starts to go through the shopping whilst Gaby tries to rest her aching feet but when she starts to lecture Gaby on whether she's got enough money, Gaby cuts her off. As Pam turns back to her reading, Gaby tells her that she's flying with Annalise tomorrow and it should be good for a laugh. She turns the conversation onto Cody and asks what she's been up to. "Burn down a few houses? Gone across the road and eaten Hannah's dog?" Pam doesn't find it funny - Cody and her used to be so close before she went to the US and now she can't get through to her at all. Gaby offers to the big sister routine but when she goes into her bedroom, she's not there. Pam exclaims that Cody's gone off with Michael. Gaby warns her not to jump to conclusions but Pam's convinced - it's the one thing she asked her not to do.
In 22 Brett wants to wear his best jeans for work but Cheryl doesn't want him wearing his good jeans to wash cars in, no matter how respectable Brett wants to look. Cheryl's off to the bank to take in the night's takings - it's always best to go when they're not expecting you, according to Cheryl, as it keeps them on their toes. As she stands up Danni appears, complimenting her on her perfume. Cheryl agrees and tells her the make, explaining that it's very expensive and as she only has a few drops left, she'll know if Danni's swiped any. Danni looks hurt and asks if anyone can pay Cheryl a compliment without getting "monstered". Cheryl says she wasn't monstering Danni, merely explaining that if Danni swipes her perfume, she'll terminate her!
Over at 32, Pam's arrived to lay down the law to Phil regarding Michael and Cody. When Philip asks exactly why she's there, Pam explains that Cody isn't in her room and she doesn't know where she is. Philip asks what that's got to do with Michael and he's told that wherever Michael is, Cody is. Philip's not impressed as he asked Michael not to socialise with Cody and Michael promised that he wouldn't. Pam laughs incredulously and asks if Philip just accepts that. Rather angrily, Philip tells Pam that Michael gave him his word and asks why that isn't good enough for her. Pam says she's worried about Cody and suggests they look in Michael's room. Philip refuses, saying that he trusts Michael and repeats that Michael hasn't left his room all night. Pam reminds him that they agreed that their two children shouldn't spend time together so they should check his room. Phil tells her that she's being really tough on Michael and that she should come and apologise to him. Phil knocks on the door only to find that Michael isn't there.
Brett goes back to 24 to ask Lou when he should start work. Lou tells him tomorrow and warns him that it won't be easy. Brett says that he doesn't mind and suggests that he might go down to the yard tonight to look around. He asks Lou if he wants to go with him because he doesn't mind working late. Lou replies that he spends enough hours in the day at the yard so he does mind working late! Brett tells him that it wouldn't take long as he's a quick learner, prompting Lou to reply that if he's a quick learner maybe Brett'll learn that he really doesn't want to go out tonight. Brett then asks if there's a uniform. Lou tells him he's going to be working in a car yard not a junk food shop and the grubbier his clothes are the better. Not noticing Lou's lack of enthusiasm, Brett asks him what he should do if Lou's dealing with a customer and there's another one hanging around. Lou cuts him off and tells him that he's there to wash cars which means no uniforms, no customer service and no late night tutorials. Just as Brett's about to leave - much to Lou's relief - he suddenly remembers something else. As Lou surpresses a sigh, it turns out to be the name of Cheryl's favourite perfume and Lou suddenly becomes very interested. As Brett leaves, Lou kisses the pad where he's written the name down.
The time's 1.15am according to Philip's watch and we can see that he's sitting in the dark in Michael's room. The window is slid open and Michael climbs in. As he turns on the light, Philip speaks and says that he thought they had a deal. Michael apologises but Philip looks away and tells him it's not good enough. Michael says they didn't see the point. Philip tells him that doesn't change everything. He tells Michael about Pam coming over all worked up and how he defended him. Before he storms out, Philip warns Michael that if that's his idea of turning over a new leaf, he's really worried about the future.
As morning breaks, we see Cheryl, Danni and Brett in 22. Brett asks what's Cheryl's favourite resturant because if he ever makes his millions from washing cars, he'll take her out to it. Cheryl exclaims that he's the man she's been waiting for! She asks what sort of scope she has and he tells her to limit herself to the city. Danni asks if Brett's trying to set Cheryl up with someone. Cheryl says that somethings are starting to add up - Brett gets a job. In a used car yard. The owner is single. Danni exclaims that he can't be trying to set Cheryl up with Lou Carpenter. Cheryl tells her to settle down - Lou's friendly and helpful. Danni says that the only reason he gave Brett a job was to impress Cheryl. Cheryl tells her that she's been out with Lou before - whilst they were still at boarding school - and Danni tells her not to do it again. Cheryl says that Lou hasn't asked her so the matter hasn't arisen. Danni storms off, saying that she can't believe she'd even consider it.
In 28, Gaby's trying to talk to Cody despite her wanting to be left alone and settles on how Pam went over to 32 breathing fire and brimstone and really got stuck into Philip the night before. Cody wants Pam to mind her own business but Annalise interrupts, dressed in full flying costume! Gaby jokes that it's the Red Baroness but Annalise points out that both she and Mark like it. Annalise is detailing what's in the picnic she's brought when Pam enters, asking when they'll return. Gaby tells her they'll be flying over Parsons Ridge which is a good 2 hour flight so they'll be back late in the afternoon. As they leave, Phil and Michael enter 28 - after a word with Pam, prompting Gaby to stay in and watch. Phil says he's brought Michael round to apologise for the night before. Michael tells her that he didn't meant to go behind her back. Pam tells him that she just wants him to keep right away from Cody. Michael says that he doesn't understand and Cody hurls down her magazine and asks, "Why bother?" As she storms out, Michael apologises again and says it won't happen again. He and Phil leave and Gaby tries to talk Pam round, pointing out that it wasn't all Michael last night - Cody went willingly. Pam insists she doesn't want the two together - Cody alone is hard enough to handle. Pam says she's not handling the whole thing well at all.
At the Coffee Shop, Brett asks Danni what the problem is with Lou. Danni asks how Brett can even compare him to their dad, to which Brett replies that he doesn't. Danni believes that he does because he wants Lou and Cheryl to be together. Brett says it's up to Cheryl what she does but Danni thinks Lou's a creep. Brett asks if Danni thinks it should be the end of Cheryl's life as well just because their dad died. Danni says that Cheryl shouldn't get married again - and definitely not to Lou as he's only after her money. Brett says that he doesn't think she's being fair but Danni says she knows more about blokes than Brett does - she knows him, she can tell.
On the doorstep of 22, Lou's arranging a card, a wrapped present and some flowers. The door opens to catch him in the act and he puts on an Irish accent, "Top of the mornin' to you!" He tells her that what he's doing looks juvenile but he doesn't care because he means it. Cheryl says she doesn't find it juvenile, she finds it romantic. Lou says that she's on his wavelength and if he asked her out to a top resturant, "she'd say yes, wouldn't she?" Cheryl smells the flowers and says that she'd say maybe, she has to think about it. She thanks him and Lou walks off looking pleased.
Michael's listening to rock music in his room when Cody knocks on his window. Michael's very abrupt with her, repeatedly asking if she's finished and waving goodbye to her. Cody can't understand - she's come around to apologise and all he does is give her a hard time. Michael tells her he learnt that off her mother. She's that her mother might be a drag but Michael's got a chip on his shoulder and goes around blaming everyone else. Cody tells him that he's not still in prison, he should chill out a bit more. Cody says there's one thing he can't blame her for - he's the one losing out.
Annalise and Gaby are sitting in the cockpit on the ground and Annalise starts fretting over the size of it. Gaby asks if she'd have preferred a 747. Annalise comments that they're the big ones - solid and safe. Gaby says that the big ones weigh more. To ally Annalise's fears, Gaby says they'll fly over the forest instead - that way they'll be back on the ground in an hour.
Over at 28, Pam tries to talk to Cody and says that Michael had no right to do what he did last night. Cody tells her she went over there. Pam asks if Michael's been pressurising her but Cody yells at her to listen, saying that she went over there to Michael - he didn't even want to go out. Cody tells Pam that she needs to give her her space. Pam exclaims that she was worried about her last night - she even went over the road and tore strips off Philip! Cody tells her to go back and apologise. Pam tells her that she'll be lucky if Philip doesn't throw her out of his house and Cody asks her whose fault that is.
Philip's half pacing, half limping in the living room of 32, trying to make Michael understand that fitting in with other people is important. He tells him that he doesn't want to be on his hammer all the time but Michael does need some direction and that's what he's trying to give him. He tells him that it'll help in the long run, which is something he'll see once he's settled in. Michael asks if he means the hassles stopping by him settling in. Philip agrees and Michael points out that if he's not causing the hassles, he can't make them stop. Philip tells him to stop pushing the blame onto other people. Michael exclaims that him coming back was a major mistake - he has to toe the line 100% or else. He points out that if the problems keep happening, he's not wanted in Ramsay Street. Philip tells him they can sort things out as they go along - they're all just finding their way a bit. Michael storms out of the living room.
Lou tells Brett about his delivery to Cheryl whilst he's in the Coffee Shop. He says the wind's now blowing in the right direction - thanks to Brett. Lou starts talking to an older lady - Valda - on his way out in a flirtatious manner, trying to get her to buy a car and Brett watches on, shaking his head in disbelief. As Lou leaves, he winks at Brett who doesn't look impressed.
In 32, Michael's crying as he packs his possessions.
Danni shows Brett the card Lou gave Cheryl which is up on the side in 22. She asks what's up with him and he tells her about the woman Lou was chatting up in the Coffee Shop just so he could sell the car. He's sickened at the look Lou gave her as he left the Coffee Shop - he had no idea Lou could be so two faced. Danni suggests he could be being two faced with Cheryl so that he can rip her off and says they've got to stop him. Brett agrees that they can't take any chances - for Cheryl's sake.
Gaby and Annalise are enjoying the skies and Annalise says that it's not so scary. They head for home but Gaby says there's problems with the power. Annalise thinks she's messing about and tells her to stop cutting it. Gaby says the plane isn't responding and Annalise wails that she has to fix it. Gaby tells her to shut up and the propeller at the front of the plane grinds to a halt. Gaby tells Annalise to brace herself - they're going down. Gaby reckons it's going to be rough and Annalise thinks they're going to die. They get onto the grass and Annalise warns Gaby not to hit the trees. Gaby tries to control the plane but it crashes, throwing both Gaby and Annalise forward headfirst.
