Recap
Scott and Charlene reuniting at the 50s night.
No. 26
The No.26 gang are still reeling from the amazing 50s night. Katie has gone to bed straight away as she was so exhausted. Jim is telling Todd that the fact that they've just come back from the party doesn't mean he can't stay up all night. Helen is still trying to figure out how Jim and Paul managed to cuff themselves to the pillar but Jim is more worried about protesting against the fact that Beverly took photos of them both. Todd bangs on about how daggy Harold was but Helen says that he admires him and his performance. Jim orders Todd off bed, after he goes; Bev, Jim and Helen have a quick gossip about how much Todd enjoyed the night. Helen comments that Scott and Charlene definitely enjoyed the night as well as they've got back together. Jim questions what broke them apart in the first place but the ever cautious Helen doesn't want to tempt fate.
Harold and Madge's
Scott and Charlene are on the couch, both saying that they thought they'd never speak to each other again. Scott apologizes and admits that he wasn't sure how to handle things. He tells Charlene that he loves her and couldn't stop no matter what. They kiss and cuddle before starting to playfully tickle each other. Madge walks in with a beaming smile, proclaiming her joy at seeing Scott and Charlene back together again. Madge wonders how the hell she managed to get herself talked into being a back-up singer. Charlene comments that now that she and Scott are back together, Madge should take the first step in trying to fix things between her and Helen. Madge agrees, saying that it was a stupid argument and that she'll go see her tomorrow as she wants to go to bed.
Des and Mike's
Des thinks that Jamie is punishing him by not eating because Des is going out tonight, leaving him with an agency babysitter. Mike wonders if Des has tried Jane, as a babysitter for Jamie but Des says that she's going out with some friends from Lassiter's. Mike offers to miss the game to baby-sit but Des doesn't want him to, although Des is getting worried that Jamie will begin to think the crèche is his home now that he spends so much time there. A clearly unsuspecting Jamie doesn't seem the least bit excited when Des enthusiastically announces that they're both going to spend the day together. Des senses Jamie's non-enthusiasm and so begs for some sort of smile.
No. 26
Madge walks in while Jim and Beverly are about to leave. Madge is told Helen is in the kitchen so she makes her way there. They civilly greet each other before Madge makes the first move in trying to repair they're friendship. She thinks that if Scott and Charlene can make up, her and Helen can to. Helen agrees and starts to makes a cup of tea for them both. Helen says that she's been trying to work up the courage to apologize herself and is glad that they're both friends now. Helen asks about Scott and Charlene to whom Madge says that they're both excellent and she's really glad that Scott came to his senses. However, Helen disagrees, putting the blame on Charlene but Madge, defending her, says that Charlene apologized ages ago. An unimpressed Helen says that she wouldn't have blamed Scott if he'd left her. An angry Madge isn't going to stand there and listen to Helen insult her daughter so she leaves.
Supermarket car park
Des and Jamie have just done some grocery shopping and are heading towards the car.
A mother is moaning at her daughter telling her that sulking won't improve things. The girl walks away and heads to towards Jamie. Des is loading things into the car, making a few mistakes along the way. The girl, copying her mother tells Jamie that sulking won't make things any better. She pushes the buggy, with Jamie in it, away from Des's car.
No. 26
Helen is doing some cooking when Todd comes in asking when the biscuits will be ready for him and Katie. Helen is still peeved over the fight with Madge so angrily answers that they'll both have to wait. Todd comments on Helen's bad mood but Helen insists that she isn't in a bad mood about anything and advises Todd to go and play outside. Jim and Beverly walk in and Todd tells them about Helen's bad mood. Beverly asks her what's wrong leading Helen to snap and demand that everyone leave her alone. Helen gives in and tells them that when Madge tried to patch things up she said some things that she shouldn't of. She goes over to Todd, hugs him and apologizes telling him that the biscuits are now probably ready.
Supermarket car park
The girl continues to push Jamie's pram before she hears her Mum calling for her leading her to go back to her, leaving Jamie on his own. Another woman sees Jamie on his own, wondering where his Mother is. She decides to go into the supermarket to ask them if they'll make an announcement.
On the other side of the car park a frantic Des is asking people if they've seen Jamie anywhere. He continues to search the car park.
Harold and Madge's
Charlene is proposing to Scott that they go camping so they can get some alone time. She's annoyed as whatever they do someone is breathing down there necks or is distracting them. Scott thinks that if they combine their earnings then they might be able to get their own place soon. Charlene seems less convinced but Scott thinks that if they keep saving then they'll be able to afford. Madge walks in, disrupting Scott and Charlene's bliss, shouting at Charlene to get her dirty overalls off of the couch. Charlene asks what's wrong so Madge explains that things didn't go very well in trying to patch things up with Helen. Scott laughs it off, saying that it's just a continuation of the Ramsay/Robinson feud. Madge and Charlene agree that it's not funny. Charlene feels particularly guilty as she thinks it's all her fault.
Supermarket car park
An angry Des finds Jamie and the woman. Des asks him why the hell she's got him, leading the woman to lash out and ask that Des prove that he's Jamie's father. Des manages to correctly identify Jamie's shirt under his jacket. The woman still isn't happy that Des just left him in the car park. Des insists that he only turned his head for a few minutes but the woman still thinks that Jamie deserves a better Dad than he has now.
Harold and Madge's
Madge is cleaning again while there's a knock at the door. It's Helen. Helen gives her the biscuits, says that she's sorry and wants to be friends again. Madge agrees and gives her a quick hug before offering Helen a cup of coffee. Helen declines saying that she needs to do some more baking. Before Helen leaves, Madge tells her she's so glad she come over as she'd been racking her brains thinking of way she could make things better. Helen gives Madge a quick kiss before leaving. Charlene comes into the kitchen, commenting to Madge that it looks like her and Helen have made up. Madge tells her how grateful she is that Helen cleared the air but Charlene is more worried about whether Helen talked about her.
Des and Mike's
Scott and Mike are doing some studying when Des comes in and explains Jamie's near kidnap. He explains about the yelling, crazy woman who was hassling him and calling him a rotten father.
No. 26
Helen has been having what looks like a crazy baking session when Charlene appears into the kitchen wanting to talk to Helen. Helen ushers Charlene onto the living room couch. Charlene tells Helen that she knows the fight between them was because of what she did. Charlene insists that it was a dumb thing to do with Steve so she'll never do it again. She tells her that she's sorry but Helen insists that she doesn't have to apologize. Charlene thinks that she's matured now although Helen wants to know why she did what she did with Steve. Charlene says she doesn't know why but she says she does know that she loves Scott and will never do it again. She's beginning to understand why people say you have to work at a marriage as that's what she and Scott have had to do. Charlene asks if Helen is angry with her but Helen is adamant that she isn't. Helen gives Charlene a reassuring hug.
