At Mrs Mangel's
Eileen comes into the living room and Des is stunned. He asks her to go out and see his dad but she laughs and tells him it's bad luck to see the groom before the ceremony. He blurts out that there isn't going to be a ceremony and Eileen looks at him in horror.
At the Ramsays
Charlene is dressing Scott as Madge finishes off decorating Eileen's cake and Henry reads out an advert in the paper offering a gardening business for sale. Scott asks how much it costs and Henry says the price is open to negotiation. Madge asks him to carry the cake for her and he lifts it up, knocking the groom figure off the top and breaking off his head - this could be a really bad omen...
At Mrs Mangel's
Malcolm has broken the news to Eileen who is sitting in a chair at a loss for words. He goes off the return the wedding presents but she stops him and tells him she did make an effort to change. He assures her he knows that but they're not compatible. If it was meant to work it would have done the first time. Getting angry, Eileen asks what she's meant to tell her friends? She shouts that she'd fallen in love with him again and just because it got a bit difficult he's running away, then yells at him to get out before breaking down in tears and knocking over Mrs Mangel's table in a rage.
Later
Harold and Nel try to get Eileen to come out of her room but without success. Des tells them to leave her, she needs to be by herself. He points out that his father had his reasons for what he did and leaves Eileen in their hands while he goes off to sort things out.
At Sally and Tony's
Sally is fed up with the mess in the flat. She runs off to answer the door and is surprised to see her father there. She asks what's going on and he tells her the wedding's off. He's leaving Erinsborough and wants to be sure she won't forget him. She hugs him and tells him she's partly glad the wedding's off - she didn't want to share him. He walks out and bumps into Des. Des has come to see him to say goodbye properly and tells him he understands why he did what he did. He hopes they can keep in touch.
At the Ramsays
Henry, Scott and Charlene are discussing why the wedding was cancelled - Scott thinks the doll Henry broke was a voodoo doll. Madge tells them wedding's aren't cancelled for no reason but Henry thinks Eileen probably just caught a cold. He suggests they use the time to ring the ad in the paper about the extra gardening round. Scott agrees but Charlene is put out that they're doing business on her weekend.
At Sally and Tony's
Tony returns with shopping and Sally is disgusted at the frozen and tinned goods he's bought. He thinks Sally should be cooking because she's a girl. She flatly refuses and says they need to sort this out right now.
At Mrs Mangels
Harold and Nel are trying to get Eileen to eat but she's too upset. She leaves her room in her dressing gown and hugs Des, asking what she did wrong. He tells her she doesn't have to worry about anything. Nel worries that she's partly to blame and Eileen snaps at her that she can now say "I told you so". Nel argues that she sincerely had her best interests at heart and hugs her.
At Sally and Tony's
Tony and Sally are drawing up a list of who does what jobs. Sally also wants the flat decorating. Tony refuses to ask the landlord - if she wants to that's up to her.
On Ramsay Street
Madge bumps into Des and Eileen on Mrs Mangel's drive and asks what's going on. Eileen is in her dressing gown, dark sunglasses and scarf and runs off across the street in tears, leaving Des to tell Madge that the wedding isn't postponed, it's cancelled. He goes after his mum and Harold fills Madge in on all the details.
At the Ramsays
Henry and Scott have got their extra business and are much more excited than Charlene, who wants to know what it's going to cost Scott. Henry replies that it won't cost him a penny. Charlene asks if that means the nice business gave his business away? Henry answers that he managed to talk him down to $1000, which he can afford to pay himself. Shocked, Charlene reminds him that as soon as he had any money he was meant to repay her and Scott. Henry says that's fine, if they want their money back they just have to say so. They do. But, he points out that means they won't make a huge profit from money they didn't even know they had... reluctantly they agree to let him invest the money again.
