Malcolm is changing the lock on the front door as Eileen tells him all the things Nell said to her. He says she should pay no attention to Nell Mangel, nothing has to change and he's perfectly happy to move into her unit in Erinsborough.
Outside Paul's office
Paul tells Sally he needs her room back. She agrees to move out over the weekend.
At the Clarkes
Malcolm is trying on his best suit but Eileen refuses to let him wear it. She wants him to buy something new to wear. He reminds her that they'd agreed a man should make all the decisions in a marriage (!). A full scale war is averted when Sally calls to see her dad. She's still upset that no-one told her about the wedding. Malcolm and laughs and questions why he needed to ask her permission. She is upset and tells him he needn't bother inviting her to the wedding, she's going back to Newcastle.
At the Ramsays
Scott and Charlene are glumly sitting on the sofa pretending to watch TV. Scott gets sick of the programme and turns it off, then apologises for being such a misery. Charlene comforts him and says they all know what it's like to miss out on a job, then gets annoyed at the editor for not even seeing him. Scott gets upset and says he hates letting her down, he wanted them to have a place of their own. Charlene at her loyal best insists that he's not let her down and they'll get their own place eventually. He promises her that he'll go out and get whatever job's going the next day. She hugs him and tells him that she loves him.
At the Clarkes
Malcolm is trying to talk Sally into staying, making promises of happy families. Sally isn't sure Eileen feels the same way. Eileen reluctantly says their door will always be open. Sally agrees to stay around and apologises to Eileen. Des comes home to the cosy family scene and says Daph's father is even worse, he's had to bring Jamie home for a few days.
At the workshop
Tony asks Scott why he's still delivering pamphlets and is given the bad news about the job. He offers to take Scott on detailing cars but Scott laughs and says he's not that desperate yet, adding "One grease monkey in the family's enough." Charlene almost knocks him out with a wrench. He tells Tony there were a couple of jobs in the paper that he's going to apply for and goes off. Sally comes in and tells Tony she wants to take his offer of a room up, providing she can get a second job, then goes off to her first job leaving Tony to gloat that he's finally got himself a good looking flat mate. Charlene points out Sally seemed pretty sure she just wanted to be flat mates:
Tony: One thing I've learnt about girls, they often change their minds
Charlene: One thing I've learnt about guys, they never give up hope.

Mike is making up a babysitting roster for Jamie. Paul comes in and points out there's something wrong with their front door (not sure if this is important but it seems like a pretty big hint that the Clarke's are about to be burgled or something equally nasty). He sees Mike making the babysitting roster and tells Des to feel free to call on him and Gail anytime. Des is surprised, he didn't think Paul wanted kids. Paul asks if they can get together at lunchtime for a chat.
At the coffee shop
Pete Baxter is eating breakfast as Mike arrives for work and tells him he's got lipstick all over his face. Mike falls for the worst practical joke in the history of the world, ever, then isn't amused when he realises he's been conned. He asks if Pete wants to come round that night to listen to some jazz tapes. Oddly, Pete does want to.
In Paul's office
Des calls in and catches Paul trying to type. They go through to the inner office with Des asking Paul what's on his mind. He's guessed it's something to do with Paul having a family and Paul tells him about the IVF programme. Des reminds him that it wasn't smooth sailing for him and Daph either, but assures him he'll get there in the end.
At the coffee shop
Pete Baxter appears to still be sitting there. Tony and Charlene join him as Scott flies over the bridge like a speeding bullet. He's got the first job he went for! Charlene hugs him in delight until she finds out he'll be stacking shelves in a supermarket, after closing. Now she'll see even less of him than when he was studying. She suggests that Sally take the job instead, but Sally wants work as a gym instructor. Charlene kindly wishes her good luck and tells her she won't find that sort of work round here! Mike comes out with the lunch orders and a message for Scott - someone called Sandra Lloyd rang to tell him she wants to meet him at her office, something about his future. Charlene perks up again - looks like the career in journalism isn't dead in the water after all.
At the office
Paul is getting his keys back from Sally as she asks him if he needs an aerobics instructor in the Lassisters gym. He agrees that it's a good idea and they shake on it.
At the Clarkes
Mike is feeding Jamie as Pete ribs him about being good father material and missing a good night at the jazz club.
At the Ramsays
Scott gives Charlene a cheque - the paper have paid him to print his article about Tony and even better, he's been offered a cadetship - in six months time. Charlene is thrilled and jumps into his arms.
At the Clarkes
Eileen and Malcolm come home from meeting Rev Sampson to find the front door open and Bouncer in the living room alone. Malcolm takes him outside and slow music plays as Eileen begins to wonder where everyone is. She looks round for Mike and Des in a panic. Malcolm comes in and tries to calm her down but she won't - "The lights were out, the door was open and Bouncer was in the living room. Where is Mike, and where is Jamie???"
