Recap
Madge and Henry move out of the Ramsays and interrupt Charlene and Scott's breakfast
At the Ramsays:
Charlene and Scott try to pretend they are pleased to see Madge and Henry but fail miserably. Madge explains how bad things were at the Robinsons and they both come around. Charlene moans that they'll have to forget the party and Henry tells her it's probably for the best, there's no food to feed anyone.
Henry: What've you been living on? Love?
Scott: Well considering you've just eaten my breakfast I think you should pull your head in.
They start play fighting as Charlene hugs Madge and tells her she is pleased things are back to normal - she's really missed her.
At the Mangels:
Nel is wondering whether she should confront Eileen with her true feelings about the wedding. Harold is pretending to listen but really reading the paper looking for a second job so that he'll be able to marry Madge. Suddenly the perfect answer strikes him - he'll give singing lessons from home! Mrs Mangel absolutely forbids it.
At the Ramsays:
Madge is manically cleaning as Charlene lies on the settee and watches. She jumps up as Scott comes in and kisses him goodbye, telling him to call in at the workshop before his interview so she can give him a kiss for good luck. After he's gone Madge asks her what she'll do if he doesn't get the job? Charlene is confident that he will get the job, she's got a gut feeling it'll all work out alright.
At the coffee shop:
Harold is being rejected from all the jobs he's applying for. Madge comes in and grumpily informs him that thanks to his meddling she and Henry have moved home. Harold apologises to her and says Helen was right when she said he was being stubborn postponing the wedding, he wants to put things back on track. Eileen walks in as they hug and tells them she's off to buy her wedding outfit - the wedding's only a week away. The camera cuts to Sally who looks unhappy at the news.
At the workshop:
Tony and Charlene are fixing Bertha. Charlene tries to con him into letting her work on Willy so he could teach her more. Tony isn't fooled. She asks him if he's heard from his mother and he tells her he's only had a phone call every day. Right on cue the phone rings and he goes off to answer it leaving Charlene to reassure a very nervous Scott. She tries to give him the good luck kiss she promised but he backs away quickly, pointing out that she is filthy. She sulks so he bets her he can find a clean bit, before attacking her neck.
At the coffee shop:
Eileen tells Harold and Madge that Reverend Sampson is coming to see her that evening so that he and Malcolm can get to know each other better. Sally throws down her tea towel in disgust and marches out. As she does so, Mrs Mangel arrives and Eileen asks her to call round for afternoon tea after work. She reluctantly agrees, then asks for contributions for Janelle's maternity collection. Harold hides on the floor behind the counter. Not easily put off, Nel pushes for some money. Harold gives her 50 cents and protests that he hardly knows the girl when the others look at him in disgust.
Outside:
Henry chats to Sally who wants some advice - how will he feel when his mum and Harold get married? Henry is looking forward to it and can't see a problem. She asks if he isn't jealous at all? Henry laughs. She tells him she is jealous of Malcolm and Eileen getting married again because she thinks she'll have no time with Malcolm then. Henry insists that she must talk to Eileen and tell her how she's feeling.
Inside:
Harold refuses to go for dinner at the Ramsays when he's already paid for his meals at Mrs Mangels. Madge is put out and tired of his penny pinching already.
At the Erinsborough News Office:
Scott stares at the door, scared to go in.
At Mrs Mangel's:
Eileen rushes in, thrilled with her wedding outfit. Nel tries to insist that they talk but Eileen refuses to until they've discussed what Nel will wear - to be her Matron of Honour. She mistakes Nel's silence as her being overwhelmed but Nel quickly puts her straight - she thinks she's making the worst mistake of her life!
Eileen packs up her wedding outfit in a huff as Nel continues to lecture her on how Malcolm will start taking over her life, isolating her from her friends and activities. Eileen begins to listen to her until she realises that Nel is jealous - "You're frightened that if I marry Malcolm you will be lonely, you won't see me anymore." She declares that Malcolm is a better man than Nel will ever be and storms out.
At the workshop:
Sally has come to talk to Tony. He gets in first and asks how she feels about moving into the spare room at his flat. She's still worrying about not seeing her dad once he gets married, and is thinking about moving home. Tony tells her she shouldn't be such a wimp and sends her off to talk to Eileen. She agrees she should be more able to come straight out with things - and tells him there's no way she'll move into his flat, then goes off to see Eileen.
On Ramsay Street:
Sally stops Eileen who is on her way shopping. She wants to know why Eileen and Malcolm didn't tell her about the wedding. Eileen doesn't understand why she is so upset. Sally insists that she has every right to get to know her father - she will come and talk to him later.
At the Ramsays:
Madge is cooking when Charlene catwalks into the kitchen looking surprisingly well dressed for an episode of 80s Neighbours. She's decided to smarten up her image now she'll be a journalists wife. Madge moans to her about Harold's penny pinching - he's told her they won't be able to go out much anymore. Henry is shocked - Madge and Harold used to be such ragers! Madge sends him off to check the Champagne's chilled (Champagne and casserole, my favourite!) Scott arrives home to a rapturous welcome with a face like a wet weekend. He reveals that the editor didn't have time to meet him and his article was shoved in a drawer without even being read.
