At the Ramsays
Henry is telling Charlene about Harold's stunt earlier. She says it doesn't sound like Our Harold. Henry is impressed himself and says Madge loved every minute of it. Charlene objects - women like a bit of respect. He says no, they like romance. She says women work twice as hard as men and they live longer, and asks what was the last thing he did for a woman? Henry got out a nice video to entertain her - Murder in the Family! Unfortunately for him, Charlene also paid a visit to the video shop and got out "To Dream of Love". They argue about which one to watch and agree they'll flip a coin to see which to watch first.
At the Mangels
Eileen says she was right about Mr Bishop (they watched from the window). They speculate about Madge and Harold's raunchy weekend away. Eileen wants to refer the matter to Reverend Sampson! Nell tells her the Reverend has agreed to support their application to the club (not sure what club yet).
At the Robinsons
Henry is visiting Scott. He invites him to watch the video with him and Charlene. Scott asks whose idea that was? Henry admits it was his, but it's a good one! Scott turns him down, he and Charlene need to take things at their own pace. Henry says he should take lessons in romance from Harold and tells him what happened earlier, recommending that he try the same thing with Charlene. He leaves and Scott looks like he's considering it! (Or maybe he's thinking of the ear bashing he'd get if he did try it)
At the Mangels
Eileen is off back to her lonely little unit. She tells Nell what a good friend she is and Nell encourages her to look forward to the future. Unencumbered and free! The doorbell goes, it is Jane! (I think, although it looks more like Barbie's head on an 80s power-dressed model's body)
Barbie, I mean Jane, explains that things are going well in the States but she had to come home for a few days, there are things she has to do.
At a nice guest house
A flapping old landlady hands Harold his key. Oops. There's been a mistake and the booking's been made under Mr and Mrs Bishop. Madge teases him. "If I'd known what your intentions were I never would have let you drag me up here." He is snappy with the receptionist. Madge calms things down and apologises to the landlady, smoothing things over and talking the landlady into making them pumpkin soup and freshly baked bread. They take the room.
Upstairs
More problems - only one bed! Yikes! Harold is most distressed. "We are not married and we are not staying!" Madge insists she is staying and finds the whole thing very amusing. He reluctantly agrees to stay one night.
At the Robinsons
Scott opens the door to Jane and seems to lose his tongue. She tells him she came back to finish what she started.
At the Ramsays
Henry and Charlene are watching her video which is some dreary love story about a couple arguing then making up. He summarises the plot and she realises it applies exactly to her. "For once in your life Henry Ramsay, you're right." He asks where she's going and she tells him she's off to make up with Scott. Henry - "I don't know how you do it Ramsay, the old two birds with one stone trick. Sometimes I blow myself away." (Not modest then)
At the Robinsons
Scott tells Jane Charlene is scared of them ending up like her mum and dad, fighting and getting back together and fighting again. The biggest favour Jane can do them is to stay right out of her way. Yep you've guessed it, Charlene is at the front door. She overhears everything and says that'll make things a damn site easier for the two of them to carry on then walks out. Scott chases after her.
At the guesthouse
Harold has put a bolster thing down the middle of the bed. Madge (Still in her coat??) starts unpacking looking for her nightie. Harold says he just threw in whatever was in the clean linen basket. Madge pulls out Charlene's overalls, Henry's footie sweater and two pillow cases - and no nightie! She says she will borrow his pyjamas, but he only has one pair! Madge says he will have to sleep in his dressing gown and she will wear those. He reluctantly agrees.
At the Robinsons
Scott drags Charlene kicking and screaming back in to the living room and insists she listen to him. She won't. Jane explains that she came back because she felt rotten about what happened, and has put her career on hold to help the two of them. Scott shouts at her to give her a break - she's only been back an hour or so. Charlene correctly points out that Scott was the first person she came to see, if she wanted to help why didn't she go and see her? She walks out again. Scott says he may as well save his breath - he doesn't know how he'll talk his way out of this one. Jane says she will go and talk to her. Scott - "Sure, she thinks you're the wicked witch and Joan Collins rolled into one!" (She does appear to have Joanie's hair and wardrobe going on) Jane thinks she knows Charlene's weak spot and has to try.
At the Ramsays
Charlene asks Henry if they've got to the part of the film where the crazed wife kills her husband with a chainsaw. When he flinches and says no she says good - that's the part she wants to see. She sits down, arms firmly crossed, and refuses to talk about what's happened - "If you don't shut up murder in the family comes to Ramsay Street!". The door goes and Henry answers it to Jane. He tells her Charlene is in no mood to talk but lets her in and scarpers. Jane tells her to stop running away. She goes on a bit about how Charlene needs to trust her and Scott (as if!) but if she doesn't then they're not friends anymore. And if that's the case then she doesn't owe her anything. Charlene agrees and says they're quits (Hardly!). Jane hasn't finished yet though and informs Charlene Scott doesn't deserve the way she's been carrying on.
CHARLENE: I'm sure you'll be around to comfort him
JANE: If that's the way you want it you've got it. You blew it, Charlene. You didn't know a good thing when you had it. Okay you've had your chance, but if you don't want Scott then I'll have him. And I can take him off you any time I want don't worry about that.
She obviously does know Charlene's weak spot because Charlene goes straight round to the Robinsons to give Scott a big hug and a kiss to rival their wedding day's. Aw, To Dream of Love........
