At the Robinsons
Jim and Helen struggle to comprehend Greg's announcement, Jim recalls how he's totally against violence of any kind. Jim says he will try talking to him tomorrow. Lucy overhears him tell Helen "I don't think he's a murderer, whatever he says" and runs in asking who's not a murderer, are they talking about Greg? Helen fobs her off, pretending that they were talking about a TV show. Lucy doesn't believe a word of it.
At the Mangels
Mrs Mangel is talking to Bouncer, making him do tricks for biscuits. Mike comes home and tells her she shouldn't be feeding him sweets. She pretends he stole a biscuit from the plate and Mike has to take him home.
At the office
Jim goes to see Paul who is working late (again). He tells him what Greg said. Paul is shocked and says it can't be true - he wouldn't be broadcasting it to the world if he was. They chat and deduce it might be something to do with boxing. Jim despairs that he might have to look for another mechanic. Paul thinks maybe they can convince him to stay, if they can keep this under their hats.
At the Robinsons
Chrissy and Lucy are having a midnight feast and gossiping about Greg being a murdered. Chrissy asks "has he got really weird eyes that look straight through you?!". She reckons he killed his wife. Lucy tries to calm her down but isn't very successful. They worry that Charlene isn't safe working with him, and that they need to hand him into the police (!). Chrissy suggests they hang around the coffee shop and hunt for clues, she's read a lot of detective magazines and knows about this sort of thing.
At the Ramsays
The washing machine is on the blink and Madge is stressed that she can't hang around all day waiting for a repair man. Henry has the solution - he has nothing to do that day and will wait in (handily giving him an excuse to stay by the phone). Madge sees the phoney solicitors notices he has put up and asks what's going on. He explains it's a favour for a friend, pretty complicated but nothing illegal. He gives her puppy dog eyes and she gives in and agrees to take messages for him when she's in the house.
At the Robinsons
Scott is nervous about his first exam. Lucy tells him this year has to be better than last year (cheers sis!) until he reminds her there is the slight problem of his marriage being on the rocks. He is disappointed that Charlene has been in touch that morning to wish him good luck. Jim says she's probably on her way over there right now, but Scott doesn't have time to wait.
At the Ramsays
Charlene runs into the kitchen, late again. She rushes to the phone and rings the Robinsons then runs out of the house when she hears Scott has just left (in her Pjs and bright red socks). She gets out just as they are driving off and they don't stop. She goes back inside and tells Madge she just wanted Scott to know she was thinking of him. Henry says he'll understand, but she is upset. She tells him they went through it all together last year (neatly forgetting they were fighting and that's part of the reason why he's having to do it all again now...) and she wanted to give him some support now
At school
Scott is sitting ready for his exam. He tries to concentrate but keeps hearing Charlene shout "If you walk out that door our marriage is over".
At the workshop
Charlene rushes in late. She asks Jim how Scott was that morning and explains how she ran after the car in her dressing gown to catch him. Jim tells her Scott has another exam that afternoon, she can always see him then. Greg arrives in a terrific mood so Charlene escapes to open up. He tells Jim he won't leave him in the lurch, but wants him to consider this his one week's notice. Jim asks for an explanation and Greg tells him he killed his brother, Colin. His brother fell in love with his girlfriend who left him for Colin. He was so angry that he got him in a boxing ring and laid into him. Their trainer stopped the fight but Colin fell and hit his head getting out of the ring. Greg blames himself, even though it was death by misadventure. He can't stay in Erinsborough now people are starting to find out because he can't live with it. Jim promises he won't say anything but Greg refuses to stay.
At the coffee shop
Mrs Mangel tells Mike he needs to do something about Bouncer, he's hanging around the neighbourhood like a stray wolf. Mike - "wolves don't wear collars and tags Mrs Mangel, especially not stray ones." Lucy and Chrissy come in, ready for the big stake out.
At the workshop
Greg tells Charlene he is going to the coffee shop. She asks if she can finish early for lunch - "I wanna see someone about something." He answers that that sounds like a good enough reason to him.
At the coffee shop
Lucy and Chrissy are still hanging around when Greg comes in. They whisper loudly and Greg hears Chrissy say "That's him isn't it? That's the murderer?" Lucy tells her to shut up but it's too late. He demands to know what they were saying about him, then storms out.
At the office
Paul asks Jim if it's safe to have Greg around. Jim tells him to forget everything he said last night, and everything that was said at the Clarkes. Greg needs time without questions so he can learn to trust people again. Cue Greg storming into the office and telling Jim to stick his job and his sympathy - he's off!
At school
12.00 arrives and so does Charlene. She sits outside the school waiting for Scott to come out. He looks surprised to see her and they both start talking at the same time. They smile and she asks how he went. He says it was okay. She says they need to talk and asks if she can make him lunch. Scott smiles and answers that it sounds good to him. He puts his arm round her shoulder and they walk off into the sunset (Or they would if it wasn't mid day).
