In Scott and Charlene's room
Charlene chucks her wedding dress into a pile on her bed and rips the poster of Scott off the wall. Madge knocks on the door and asks if she can come in but Charlene says no. Madge insists that she open the door and tells her she needs to stop and think about things. Charlene answers "I don't want to stop and think about things, the more I think the more angry I get!". Madge says she can't have believed Chrissy surely, "she's just a stupid little teenybopper big noting herself, you know Scott better than that." Charlene replies that she didn't think he'd play up with Jane but she was wrong about that. She refuses to go and talk to him about it.
At the Robinsons
Scott is furious at Chrissy. Jim and Helen can't believe Lucy didn't say anything. They are even more annoyed when Chrissy tells them she was jealous of Lucy having a boyfriend like Mike. Helen shouts that all the effort they have put into fixing things has been wasted. Scott calms her down, saying there's no way Charlene will have believed it - "I think she knows me well enough to know I wouldn't be chasing after a little kid. I mean, as if!"
At the Mangels
Mrs Mangel is spoiling Bouncer as he does tricks for her. She runs out of dog biscuits so goes to get some human biscuits. In the meantime Mike comes in, so Mrs Mangel pretends the biscuits were for her. She pretends Bouncer snuck in, but if he wants to visit Mike in the future she might not mind...
At the Robinsons:
Jim thinks Scott should go and talk to Charlene but Scott says this will make her think he has something to hide. He goes to study and Jim tells Helen he thinks they should send Chrissy home. She says this is unfair, it wasn't deliberate. Madge comes in and says she's tried to talk to Charlene but she's too upset to listen. Scott comes back in and asks "Too upset about what?" He is furious that she honestly believed he was after "that little bimbo". He thinks she wants him to wear a chain around his neck saying "Don't talk to me girls, it'll upset my wife." Madge points out that she's wary because of her father - "He'd chase after anything in a skirt." Scott gets even more angry because he's not like that, and she should know him better.
At the Ramsays
Harold is filled in on the latest falling out between Scott and Charlene and says "The bonds of marriage are forged in adversity." Madge says they've lost faith in marriage. Henry has another bright idea - Madge and Harold should marry now, rather than later. Harold agrees it is a great idea but Madge needs some persuading.
At the Robinsons
Helen goes out to work warning the girls to behave themselves, or Chrissy will be sent home. They go into the kitchen and Chrissy says Lucy is partly to blame for what happened, making all that stuff up about Mike. Lucy agrees, and says she wishes it was true though. Chrissy gets excited - Lucy should chase after Mike, let him see she isn't a kid anymore.
At the Clarkes
Mrs Mangel visits Harold to see when he'll be moving home. He tells her it'll be a week or so. She drops off some mail. Harold moans that it's junk, except... what's this? An old friend has written to tip him off about a red hot investment tip.
At the Ramsays
Charlene stumbles into the living room and asks Madge the time. She panics when Madge tells her it's quarter past nine, she's going to be late. Madge tells her she's already rung Greg, Charlene needed the sleep, she was up half the night. Charlene asks why she isn't at work herself and she reminds her that she's off work until the Waterhole is renovated. She asks Charlene if she's thought everything through again but Charlene says she wouldn't waste her time. Madge talks sense at her for two minutes and it seems to be sinking in.
Outside
Charlene, finally off to work, bumps into Scott. He walks past her until she tells him they need to talk about that girl. Scott asks "What girl? There are so many girls in my life Charlene." He tells her she obviously doesn't want to listen to a word he says and walks off.
At the office
Paul gives Henry information on packing up the Waterhole. Harold comes in and asks Paul for his help - he needs advice on the investment tip he's been given. Paul has heard of it and agrees to do some investigating.
At the coffee shop
Lucy and Chrissy visit Mike in their fright wigs and plastered on make-up. Mike - "Cripes! What have you done to your face!? You look like you're going to a Halloween party." He suggests they go home and have a wash!
At the office
Paul tells Helen Rosemary has been on the phone. It looks like Jane may be away some time. Helen says Nell will worry, she must be missing her. Still, at least Harold will be back soon. Paul isn't so sure - if his broker is right Harold might be moving into his own waterfront mansion... He rings Harold at Madge's to pass on the good news. He might even have a bit of a flutter himself.
At the Ramsays
Madge is worried about Harold investing so much money but Harold is positive this is a good thing. No more messing about, a new Harold Bishop is about to emerge and he won't wait to be married - he wants them to be man and wife by the end of the month.
