Recap
- Amanda's fur coat goes missing, and with it goes all her money.
Outside
Jim questions Bev about the man she tried to avoid when they were in Adelaide. She is saved from answering by Amanda storming out of the coffee shop looking for her coat. She spots Madge coming over the bridge with her coat and runs over and grabs it from her, accusing her of stealing it. Madge gives it back and she rushes off with it, leaving Eileen to look at her accusingly before going inside. Madge asks Harold if he thinks she stole it too and he assures her he doesn't, then asks "What were you doing with it Madge?" Her smile fades quickly.
In the office
Paul tells Helen he is dreading going in front of the camera. He's also far too busy to spare the time. Helen offers to help but they are delayed further by Madge barging in and ranting about Amanda. She is most upset that Harold is so wrapped round Amanda's finger that he didn't even defend her to Amanda. She explains that one of the hotel guests had left her coat in the coffee shop and she offered to go and get it for her, but took Amanda's by mistake. Paul joins in the slanging match and says he doesn't like the impact she's had on Jane.
On Ramsay Street
Amanda is moaning about Madge. She thinks Madge took the coat to show off in front of the staff. Jane stands up for Madge then asks why all Amanda's money is sewn in the coat lining. Amanda tells her she is afraid of her father, he's very forceful and could get someone to break into the house. Jane thinks she should just give the money back but Amanda says she's being ridiculous. She's entitled to the money and intends to have fun with it.
Outside the coffee shop
Gail comes along to start filming the coffee shop. Eileen is barely able to contain her excitement and reminds Gail of all the experience she's had in the theatre. When it comes to filming though she freezes - a major case of stage fright.
In the office
It's show time! Helen, Paul and Gail are watching the movie (unedited). They laugh at Eileen and say it's a bit rough, but Rosemary will love it. Paul tells Gail he's very proud of her.
At the Robinsons
Lucy tells Helen she was dropped from the netball team because they lost on Saturday. Helen tries to comfort her that even the best sportsmen have off days, but Lucy moans that she's been having lots of off days lately. She goes off to practise her flute and Helen starts cooking tea. Jim comes in and tells her not to cook for him, he's going out with Beverly again. Helen says she'd like him to eat out more often - if it was with someone nice like Beverly. Lucy runs in crying that she can't play her flute anymore. She's off to see if she can take Bouncer for a walk.
Outside
Mike and Jane run into each other and Mike mentions how they never seem able to talk to each other anymore, then ruins his chance of improving things by whinging about her mum changing her appearance (again). He says he doesn't think she's happy as she is now and she answers that she'd be a lot happier if he'd leave her alone. She turns to go inside as Lucy runs up, crying that she's lost Bouncer, his lead slipped out of her hand. Mike has a go at her so Jane shouts at him and takes Lucy off to look for him, just as Bouncer runs up the street. Mike apologises to Lucy and takes him home, leaving Lucy to worry about what's wrong with her lately.
At the Robinsons
Beverly arrives and tells Jim she has to cancel dinner - she's got to work. He thinks they should grab a quick bite at the Waterhole instead. They leave and Helen and Lucy go off to cook crepes. Lucy jokes that Beverly doesn't like Jim as much as he thinks, if she cancels dinner like that. Helen points out how busy she is. Lucy goes to the fridge to get milk and drops it on the floor. Helen sighs and tells her not to just stand there, pick it up. She bends down to pick it up and knocks the flour over the counter, then runs out in tears.
In the living room
Lucy is crying. Helen apologises for snapping at her and Lucy tells her she keeps dropping things. Helen puts on a dodgy German accent and makes Lucy smile saying "There's no use crying over spilt milk."
At Mrs Mangel's
Jane asks Amanda what she will do if her father goes to the police about the money? Amanda replies that he won't do that - he hasn't declared the money to the tax man. Besides, she and Jane need it a lot more than he does. She gets angry at the lack of support Jane is showing her, and Jane backs down.
At the Waterhole
Jim presses Bev to tell him about the man in Adelaide again. She tells him he has no right to pry into her past. He says he cares about her very much but she thinks he should respect her feelings and her right to a private life. She warns him that she won't lay out her life like an open book, and they should stop seeing each other now if that's what he wants. He doesn't.
At the Robinsons
Jane calls round with some clothes of Lucy's she packed by mistake. They discuss Amanda and Jane admits she's worried her mum will move on once her Gran gets out of hospital. She tells Helen she is dressing like a little girl because that's how her mum wants her. Helen tells her she can't live her life for someone else and her mum will still love her if she acts how she really is. Jane reminisces about how her mum used to tuck her in bed before she went out, and that's all she expected. She doesn't think that was much to ask. She cries about how her mum and dad just left her behind when they decided to go to Hong Kong and how she made herself hate her mum to deal with that. Now she thinks that if she can make her mum love her by just changing her clothes then that's a small price to pay.
At the Waterhole
Jim and Beverly are about to leave when a lady walks in and announces to Beverly that she and Stephen have separated because of her. She pours a glass of wine over Beverly's head then warns Jim to keep away from her if he's a married man, or she'll wreck his marriage too.
