Outside the coffee shop:
Henry protests that Jane is a nice person and wouldn't use him but believes Amanda once she points out that all girls can be devious and selfish! He is upset that she's made him look a real fool and when she comes back out from paying he is offhand and tells her to forget going to the movies. Jane is confused and goes to follow him but Amanda stops her, telling him that would be pathetic.

At the Ramsays:
Scott interrupts Charlene's hoovering by dropping a wet cloth down her neck. She tells him to grow up so he tries to gain forgiveness by kissing her. She pulls away and sends him off to clean windows, then stops him to ask whether he slept better in the new bed. He assures her he did and teases her about how much she wriggles, then sets off again to clean windows. She stops him again and tells him to get his dirty sports gear for her to wash. He goes into the kitchen where he realises he's left his gym bag at school - along with the tickets for the concert that night. Charlene is furious with the bird brain - it's Saturday and the school's closed! Scott runs off to try and get the caretaker to open up for him, although Charlene reminds him that he wouldn't even put the sprinklers on if he were on fire.

At Mrs Mangel's:
Jane is upset and confused about Amanda, although she admits she was using him to make Mike jealous. Amanda gives her some words of wisdom and says she is far too inexperienced to be dealing with romance and boys.

At the office:
Gail is giving Paul the cold shoulder because of his plans to knock down the Waterhole. Madge has been called in for a meeting. Paul wants her to look at the plans for knocking down the Waterhole. She tells him he can't be serious, Jack Lassiter would have a stroke. However, once Paul outlines his plan for her to run the new wing she starts to see things differently. He points out that this isn't the local pub, it's a hotel. Plus she'll have her own office and a thirty percent rise... Madge caves in. She'll take the new job. Gail huffs in the corner and asks Paul what it will take to keep her mouth shut?

At the Ramsays:
Jane and Amanda are visiting and offering Charlene a bright yellow sheet as a gift. She tells them it's really elegant although I bet she secretly hates it as much as me. Jane asks where Scott is and Amanda laughs when Charlene explains about him running off to school to get the tickets. Charlene says it's no laughing matter - this is their only night out. Amanda tells her she's only laughing because it's funny to hear her say her husband's at school, she couldn't imagine Jane in the same position. Scott blusters through the door yelling about how stupid Merv (the caretaker) is and Charlene quickly shushes him before introducing him to Jane's mum. She guesses correctly that Merv wouldn't let Scott in and Scott tells her he just laughed at him. Amanda thinks she might have an idea - has Merv ever met Charlene's mum? Charlene confirms that he hasn't. In that case, Amanda is sure Madge wouldn't mind her impersonating her for a bit.

SCOTT: We appreciate the effort Mrs Harris, but you don't know Merv.
AMANDA: And you don't know me Scott. I can be very persuasive when I want to be. Very persuasive indeed.

Wrapping her coat around her like Cruella de Vil she struts off to save the day.

At the Robinsons:
Helen is baking with a token streak of flour down her face to convince the viewer that there is actual cooking being done. Gail comes in and says she's supposed to be up to her ears in starving artists. Helen protests that she's baking because she feels guilty at not spending enough time with her family - she's had to let Lucy and Emma down from going horseriding tomorrow. Gail offers to take them instead, she'd rather do that than go into work at the moment. Helen becomes Mrs Mangel for a moment - "I don't wish to pry, but tell me everything."

Outside the Waterhole:
Henry is miserable about his run in with Jane earlier and tells Madge he wants to be a monk. She laughs at him and tells him he was supposed to be working on one girl at a time. He reveals that he was doing - Jane. Madge is shocked and says Jane doesn't have a devious bone in her body. Henry explains about Amanda and Madge suddenly realises Amanda may have had more than Jane's interests at heart.

At the Ramsays:
Charlene runs in with the concert tickets and sings Amanda's praises, before sending Scott off to clean windows again (Why don't they just get a window cleaner??)

At the Robinsons:
Madge is telling Helen about the Waterhole plans. Helen is shocked. She doesn't think Jack Lassiter would have sold the complex if he'd known the Waterhole wouldn't remain. Madge changes the subject and asks what Helen thinks of Amanda. Helen doesn't know her very well so Madge fills him in on what happened with Jane and Henry. Helen thinks Amanda is jealous of Jane and afraid of growing old.

At Mrs Mangel's:
Jane tells Amanda she is going out to sort things out with Henry but Amanda flatly forbids it. She tells Jane she needs to stop trying to be something she isn't - the hair and make-up, and not wearing her glasses. It's no wonder Mike went looking for somebody else (??) Illogical as her argument is Jane seems to be seriously listening to her.

At the Robinsons:
Rosemary rings for a chat with Helen. Helen lets slip about the plans with the Waterhole, thinking Rosemary knows and agrees. Oops.

At Paul and Gail's:
Gail is off to go riding and tells Paul she'll think of him when she sees her first pig-headed, stubborn stallion. The phone rings just after she leaves. It's Rosemary.

At the Ramsays:
Breakfast time. Scott asks Madge if she wants coffee but she'd rather have a couple of pints of plasma and a drip tube. Charlene tells her she's working too hard and should skip church. Madge is aghast - Harold would never forgive her. She goes off to answer the door, thinking it will be Harold, but it's Merv. He asks to speak to Mrs Ramsay.

MADGE: You're talking to her.
MERV: Oh, I mean the other Mrs Ramsay. The good sort.

Charlene rushes over and tells "Aunty Madge" that this is a man from the school, before advising him that her mum's away for the day, taking his flowers and shutting the door in his face. Back inside Madge wants to know what's going on. Charlene explains about Amanda and Scott says that's why Merv was asking for the good looking one, before realising the error of his ways. Henry comes to join the fun and tells Madge that on a good day she'd kill Mrs Harris, but first thing in the morning she'd give Godzilla a run for his money. Madge smacks him round the chops, then grabs the flowers from Charlene and goes off to put them in some acid.

Outside Paul and Gail's:
Gail drives up and Paul drags her out of the car, holding onto her arm and telling her to get inside - now. Once inside he fumes at her that thanks to her Rosemary has frozen the entire development project. Gail - "Has she? I'm glad. I don't know who spilt the beans but I'd like to shake them by the hand."
