At the Clarkes:
Des tries to comfort Daphne, but she tells him no man can understand. Annoyed, he says he's not just any man, he's her husband. She tells him to leave her alone but he won't - he comes up with all sorts of solutions but she's not buying it and goes off to have a lie down, leaving Des all confused.

At Mrs Mangel's:
Amanda is on the phone to someone asking them to send her a prospectus. Jane comes in with flowers - a present from someone trying to apologise. Amanda asks her who she can get to give her some financial advise and she suggests Des, then rambles on about her day at the office as Amanda looks at some paperwork. Jane says Paul was meeting with a purple elephant to talk about building a skyscraper in the middle of the lake to test if Amanda is listening. She isn't.

At the office:
A council man leaves the office telling Paul there are regulations against some project he's been working on. He tells Gail they're going to have to work day and night to get through all the conventions he's got coming up - thanks to her hard work.

At the Clarkes:
Jane comes over to thank Mike for the flowers. Oh no, how embarrassing - he didn't send them! She apologises and quickly leaves and Mike feels bad that he didn't think to send them.

Next morning:
Des is moaning about Jamie's crying to Mike. He's hoping a lie in will do Daphne good. Mike asks Des's advice about Jane and Des points out how hurt she must have been when he dumped her for Megan. He warns that if there's a guy who's interested enough to send her flowers then Mike might have lost his place in the queue. Daphne comes out for breakfast and Des tells her she should have stayed in bed. She wanted to get his breakfast but he says that's all sorted, plus he's doing the grocery shopping and Mike's looking after the coffee shop so all she has to do is stay at home and relax with Jamie. She thanks him but doesn't look impressed.

Outside:
Henry passes Amanda on the street and looks impressed. She walks past to chat to Des, asking if she can go and see him with her money problems. He is delighted to be able to help, then introduces her to Mike. She quizzes him about Jane before squeezing Des's hand and walking off.

At the office:
Paul is looking for ways to expand the hotel. He wanted to use the lake but the council man put paid to that plan yesterday. Gail goes off to look after a magical mystery tour.

At Mrs Mangel's:
Amanda is singing Des's (and the Neighbourhood's) praises, then asks Jane what her plans are for the day. Jane thinks they should go and see Nel. Amanda doesn't look keen. She answers the phone to her husband and Jane runs over quickly, hoping to speak to him. Amanda hangs up without giving her chance - "I don't think he was in any mood for a chat." She suggests they go to visit Nel, then have a coffee somewhere, give them chance to get to know each other.

Outside Lassiter's:
Gail is telling her mystery tour guests the history of the Waterhole and how much Jack Lassiter loved the pub. She explains that he built the hotel complex for his wife, but missed his old outback pub so built a replica on the complex. She spots Paul and Des and goes over. Des says he loves that old story but Paul comments that he has plans for the place, refusing to say more.

At the Clarkes:
Mike comes home, waking up Daphne who is dozing in a chair. Mike starts cleaning and Daphne moans that she shouldn't be leaving it all to him. She cries that being a mother isn't what she thought it would be.

At the office:
Gail asks Paul what his plans are for the Waterhole and he bluntly tells her he's knocking it down. He can build a new extension on it that would be far more profitable than that "dilapidated old shack." She is astounded and insists there must be another way but his mind is made up.

Outside the coffee shop:
Spotting Amanda, Henry walks over and tells her they have to stop meeting like this. He introduces himself and she invites him to join her for a cup of coffee. He is surprised to find she is Jane's mother and it seems some of the shine has gone off her, or maybe he just realises how old she must be. He compliments Jane on her perfume and says it reminds him of fresh flowers, hint hint. She realises he sent the flowers and, spotting Mike, grabs him and kisses his cheek. Cut to a close up of Amanda who realises Jane's game.

At the office:
Paul and Gail are rowing about the Waterhole plans. He snaps that romance doesn't pay the bills, good business sense does and walks out.

At the Clarkes:
Daphne is humming and rocking in her chair like a crazy lady. Des comes home and gives her some chocolates he bought her as a treat. She tells him she shouldn't eat them while she's breastfeeding (What?!). Undeterred Des asks her to go out for a meal that night, Paul's offered to treat them, but she'd rather stay in and have an early night. He thinks that's even better but she wants him to set up a bed in the nursery and Jamie can go in their room with her. This will mean he's not so tired for work. Des looks confused and says he's fine as things are but she insists.

At the coffee shop:
Henry asks Jane out to a movie and she's protesting, until she spots Mike again. She says if he were a gentleman he'd offer to take her to a movie she wanted to see. Mike overhears, as she planned, and Amanda sends her inside to pay the bill. Once she's gone she fills Henry in on what Jane's up to. He's gutted.
