Robinsons
Jim is wrapping some flowers for Daphne when Helen notices he has two bunches. He tells her one bunch is for Beverly to thank her for her treatment last night. Helen is in a teasing mood and comments that she never saw Jim give Clive flowers.
Paul and Gails
Paul and Gail are preparing for their dinner party with Mr Udagawa. Paul tells her he has invited the family seeing as Mr Udagawa is big on seeing families behind the businessman. Gail tells Paul she found her old flute last night and asks Paul if Lucy would like it. He says she would love it but checks that Gail really wants to give it away. She says her career as a musician is over and says that there is no clause in the marriage contract which says she has to perform musicals! She asks Paul if he wants to watch a movie with her but he says he has other plans. She asks him if she should save some dinner for him but he tells her not to as he will be home quite late. He tells her if she really wants to see the film then he will cancel his plans for her. Gail tells him not to be silly; they both agreed to lead separate lives and she says she will make some plans of her own. Paul leaves and Gail looks a bit sad.
Clarkes
Des and Mike are struggling to make breakfast in Daphne's absence. Mike tells Des he has a field trip with Uni and says he will cancel it so he can help out at The Coffee Shop. Des tells him he doesn't want him to miss out on anything and is sure that Harold will be able to cope with things.
Mrs Mangels
Harold arrives and finds Mrs Mangel asleep on the couch. She wakes up with a fright and tells Harold how glad she is that he's back. He gets her a cup of camomile tea and Mrs Mangel apologises for being hysterical. She tells him about what happened in the night and tells him the police were of no help to her. Mrs Mangel tells Harold she had nowhere to turn because of the hatred the neighbours have for her. Harold says Jane would have come over if she'd known about Mrs Mangels distress and tells her that she should sort out her differences with the neighbours, as everyone needs people to turn to in their lives.
Ramsay Street
Lucy is on her way to school and walks past Paul and Gail's house. They are about to go to work and Gail calls after Lucy. She tells her she has something for her and presents her with her flute. Lucy is overwhelmed as Gail tells her she hopes she keeps up with her lessons unlike she did. Gail invites Lucy for dinner and says she can show her how well she can play. Lucy says she'd love to but can't come over until 6 as Emma's mum will be bringing her home after her flute lesson. Lucy tells Gail she is terrific and says she's glad she is part of the family. Gail joins Paul in the car and he says he can see Gail has taken a shine to Lucy. Gail says she loves being part of a big family and Paul gives her an affectionate touch on the chin.
The Coffee Shop
Mike and Harold are disagreeing over meat on the menu. Harold says today will the last day that The Coffee Shop sells meat. Harold says he refuses to handle meat and orders Mike to put up a sign declaring The Coffee Shop now sells vegetarian dishes only. Mike isn't sure this was what Des and Daphne had in mind.
Beverly arrives and Harold introduces himself to her. Harold boasts about the vegetarian menu and Beverly tells him that a balanced diet is the way to go and that meat should be a part of that diet.
Clarkes
Daphne and Des arrive home and he starts to fuss over her. Daphne refuses to go to bed and says she will lie on the couch so she can watch the television. Daphne says she hopes Beverly sticks around as she thinks they could become good friends. Des tells Daphne he is worried about her and feels the accident was his fault. Des worries about what would happen if the baby wasn't healthy. Daphne says whatever happens they will love their baby and will cope with him or her.
Ramsay Street
Helen is walking out of the street and passes Mrs Mangel outside her house. Mrs Mangel asks if she could have a word but Helen says he is in a hurry.
Lassiters Complex
Jim sees Beverly coming out of The Coffee Shop. She asks how his leg is and he says that thanks to her it seems better. Jim presents Beverly with a bunch of flowers. He says it's his way of apologising for his rudeness when they first met. Beverly thanks him and says she has to go as she has a busy day ahead of her. Jim watches her as she leaves.
Clarkes
Helen comes in to chat to Daphne. Daphne tells her how bored she is and wonders if Beverly will let her return to work next week. Helen tells Daphne she is a terrible patient. She says she just saw Mrs Mangel and felt terrible for not engaging in a conversation with her. Daphne says that she deserves the silent treatment but Helen says she has a feeling Mrs Mangel wanted to apologise. Beverly arrives and is not happy when Daphne answers the door. She tells her she must rest until the birth of the baby. Daphne is alarmed but Beverly warns her she must for the welfare of the baby.
Lassiters Complex
Paul and Gail leave work and he tells her is going to grab a shower at Lassiters before he goes out. They go their separate ways until Paul calls after Gail. He tells her if she wants he will cancel his date with Crystal. She tells him she has dinner arrangements of her own and that his date with Crystal is not a problem. They wish each other a good evening.
The Coffee Shop
Harold has thrown away all the meat much to Mike's dismay - who says he could have fed it all to Bouncer! Harold says before they leave tonight he wants all the counters and cutlery disinfected so they can get rid of every meat trace. Mike says Daphne would not approve of this and Harold tells him not to go upsetting her in her condition.
Clarkes
Des is home and Daphne tells him that Beverly convinced her she must take things easy. Des says most women would love to laze around on the couch all day. But Daphne says she feels like she is neglected him and the house. Gail arrives with a book for relaxation for Daphne. Des tells Gail she should come for dinner if Paul is out tonight. Gail says she can't make it as she is having Lucy over for dinner.
Random Road
Lucy and Emma are waiting for Emma's Mum to collect them. Lucy is talking about the flute Gail gave her; she tells Emma that Gail is the nicest person. Emma says that Gail is pretty and Lucy asks how she knows, as she's never met Gail. Emma says she is looking at her right now and draws Lucy's attention to Paul in his car kissing Crystal. Lucy looks devastated.
