Number 26 Backyard
Levi explains to Amy that Zara got something in her eye and he was helping her out, but he's shocked when Zara claims he's lying. Amy cooly tells Zara to get out of the spa. Levi stammers that he has no idea what's happening right now, "I was literally just sitting here and then Zara came out of nowhere and just hopped into the spa with me". But Zara lies again, saying that Levi leaned into her like he was about to do something. Amy looks overwhelmed and can only instruct Zara to get out of the spa again. She wraps her daughter in a towel, ignoring Levi's pleas, and leads her away.
Ramsay Street
Amy wants to know from Zara exactly what happened. Zara would prefer to drop it, but Amy reminds her this is a serious matter. Because if it is something major, they need to go to the police straight away. At the mention of police involvement, Zara blurts out that she made up the whole thing. "Levi didn't do anything, I just pretended that he did," she says, earning a short sigh of relief from Amy, that's also tinged with sadness. "Why would you do that?" she quietly asks her daughter.
ZARA: Because you lied first. You said you were going to get rid of your boy toys.
AMY: And I did.
ZARA: (scoffing) Yeah right. I saw you super close with them outside the hotel.
Levi follows them into Number #26's driveway, but hangs back when he hears their conversation.
AMY: So you made him look like a predator? To get him out of the picture?
ZARA: You weren't doing it yourself.
AMY: But I did. I was saying goodbye. (Levi walks over to them) And you would know that if you'd bothered to ask me, or him.
LEVI: I hope you're telling your mum the truth.
AMY: She did. I'm so sorry.
Levi asks Zara if she's sorry too but gets no response from the teen. Apologising again, Amy tells Levi they'll talk later after she gets Zara home. Levi looks hurt as he watches them walk away.
The Waterhole Exterior
Glen wonders if him moving in would be the best idea, but Terese thinks it'll be a win for everyone involved. Plus, Terese doesn't want to be the one responsible for Roxy not moving out because she thinks she has to stay and look after her aunty. Glen asks if Terese is worried about Paul's reaction if he agrees to move in, but Terese says they're separated and Paul doesn't get a say.
GLEN: What about Ned?
TERESE: Well I'm sure he won't mind. He needs to start living his life instead of worrying about me.
Chloe swings past to ask Terese if she's ready for their work meeting. Terese gets up to leave, but asks Glen to have a think about her offer.
Harold's Café Exterior
Britney has caught Nicolette up on her latest failure at talking to Leo about her feelings, so Nic encourages her to try again. But Britney's worried that Leo might not be into her anymore and the chemistry she's sensing might just all be in her head. "Well if you're that unsure we'll do some sussing," Nicolette says with a smile.
Amy's Apartment
Toadie can't believe his ears when Amy tells him what happened with Zara and Levi. Meanwhile, Zara's in the bedroom eavesdropping on their conversation. Amy explains that Zara felt hurt when she thought she lied about taking a break from Ned and Levi, but Toadie points out that's still no excuse. Amy says she said the same thing to Zara and that it was lucky the situation was cleared up.
TOADIE: So her punishment?
AMY: What? I can't punish her for this. I want her to be able to come to me if she ever finds herself in that situation.
TOADIE: But she wasn't, was she? And accusations like that could follow Levi for the rest of his life. Has she even apologised?
Interrupting the conversation, Zara appears and 'earnestly' says to Amy that she knows what she did to Levi was "pretty evil" and Toadie's right, she hasn't apologised. Toadie sternly tells her that assault is nothing to joke about. Zara explains that she was upset but she knows now that she took it too far. She really is sorry and would like to find Levi and apologise to him properly. Amy thinks that's a great idea, murmuring "lesson learned" to Toadie, but Toadie can only give his friend an incredulous look in return.
The Waterhole
Paul and Leo literally bump into Mackenzie as she's carrying a box of wine out of the pub. She explains they're supplies for Roxy's hens party tomorrow. Paul hopes there will be more than just alcoholic beverages on offer, but Mac says there will be. She's even making two types of jelly shots so everyone feels included. When Mackenzie leaves, Paul asks Leo if he's heard anything from Glen about his offer, but Leo says Terese was going to talk to him instead about a solution. Glen then walks in with Melanie, so Paul strides over, asking if he's sorted anywhere to live yet. Glen replies that he'll figure something out, then asks Leo if he can give him a call later.
Once they're alone, Melanie comments to Glen that Paul seems to be making an effort, but Glen knows he'll stop once he finds out where he might be living. Melanie's stunned when Glen tells her that Terese asked him to move in. She quickly advises him not to take Terese up on her offer.
GLEN: Why?
MELANIE: Because whether you are ready to admit it to yourself or not, thou really art coveting thy brother's wife.
GLEN: She asked me to move in for support as a live-in sober companion.
MELANIE: Well even if that works for her, it doesn't mean that it's going to work for you.
Harold's Café
Levi has told Ned and Hendrix what happened with Zara. Hendrix is glad Amy sorted everything, but Levi comments that it's still full on. "Zara's not messing around, she wants us out," he adds. Amy walks in with Zara and tentatively heads over to the boys. She tells Zara to say her piece.
ZARA: I'm sorry for what I did. It's just, it's been such a mind warp mum having two boyfriends. I wasn't thinking straight. I hope you can forgive me.
LEVI: Well I can accept your apology at least.
AMY: Thank you. Wait, what do you mean by that?
LEVI: It means that what Zara did was massive, Amy. And it's not easily forgivable.
AMY: Yeah, but, she said she was sorry?
LEVI: Yeah she said a lot of things today. And all of them were out of line.
Ned suggests they take this conversation somewhere else. Hendrix also jumps in and suggests Zara come to Mackenzie's with him so Amy and Levi can talk. "I think Ned's right," Amy says, looking at Levi. "We probably do need to have a chat in private."
The Waterhole
Melanie tells Glen that she's at Toadie's most nights, so he'd be more than welcome to crash on her couch for the time being. Glen says it's a kind offer but he doesn't want to put Mel out. Mel replies that it's no bother, though, and the next step will be getting him his own apartment. Chloe enters the pub with Terese after learning that she asked Glen to move in. Terese states that Glen needed somewhere to stay, she needed the support, so it makes perfect sense. Chloe reminds Terese that she probably doesn't want to get caught in the middle of Paul and Glen's drama anymore than she has to. Meanwhile at the bar, Melanie encourages Glen to say no to Terese's offer because it's the right thing to do. But when Mel leaves, Terese makes a beeline to speak with Glen.
GLEN: I've been mulling over your idea.
TERESE: Oh, and?
GLEN: I'd like to be a support to you.
TERESE: Well, yes, you would be.
GLEN: Okay then.
TERESE: Okay as in, okay you'll move in?
GLEN: (sharing a smile with Terese) Yeah, let's do it.
Lassiters Hotel Penthouse
Leo has just got Abigail to sleep in her pram when Britney joins them. Britney offers to put Abi down in her nursery, but Leo's happy to keep Abi with him as he's enjoying being in the moment with her. Britney then asks if he's spoken to Glen yet. Leo nods but says he still needs to smooth things over properly.
BRITNEY: I never know if we should speak about him around your dad or not.
LEO: Yeah, I mean they're brothers but I do feel like Glen wants to make things right.
BRITNEY: You do too, don't you.
LEO: Yeah, we're all family. We've all spent too much time apart.
BRITNEY: Do you think there's hope for Paul and Terese? They were solid once, right?
LEO: Yeah they were a perfect match - until it all got kinda toxic.
BRITNEY: Do you think there's a possibility to get over that kind of thing?
LEO: I guess so. I thought they would have rekindled things after he saved her life. I guess that's what happens, though, right? The moment passes and then it's too late.
Britney is about to ask Leo something else, but they're interrupted by Nicolette arriving in the elevator. She explains she just ran into David, who took Isla for her. Nic then realises she might have ruined a moment, but Leo cluelessly says he was just about to put Abigail to bed. Nicolette mouths 'sorry' to Britney for intruding.
Number 30
Hendrix asks Zara if she realises what she did to Levi was pretty messed up. "Yeah, I know," Zara replies in a nonchalant fashion, but sounds genuine when she admits it was cool of her mum to leap to her defence. Mackenzie's in the kitchen with Toadie when Hendrix introduces Zara to her. Hendrix says things got a little tense between Amy and Levi so he thought they'd give them space. Mackenzie says she could use help prepping for Roxy's hens party, which Hendrix is happy to oblige.
TOADIE: (tersely) So the apology didn't land well then?
ZARA: Nah, but mum's handling it. What's this about a party?
Toadie looks affronted that Zara just casually changed the conversation without a care. Mackenzie tells Zara about Roxy's party tomorrow, so Zara says to count her in. She figures if she's helping with party preparations she's entitled to an invite.
Amy's Apartment
Things are tense between Amy and Levi. Amy says from where she was standing, she had to step in and protect Zara, but Levi adamantly says he would never touch Zara. Amy knows this, and knows what Zara did was bad, but people make mistakes. Levi scoffs at this, but Amy explains that Zara thought she was lying when she said she broke up with him and Ned. Levi can't believe Amy's making all these excuses for Zara's behaviour, but Amy says it's a very complicated situation.
AMY: She's confused, she's just a kid.
LEVI: Yeah but a kid who can do a lot of damage, Ames. She targeted me. What about if she goes after Ned next?
AMY: She knows now that we are on pause.
LEVI: That's still not good enough.
Getting upset, Amy promises Levi that things will get better. They just need to have a break for Zara to get her head around everything, and then Levi can move past what happened. But Levi doesn't think he can.
LEVI: I didn't sign up for any of this.
AMY: You didn't sign up for what?
LEVI: Obviously I knew you had kids when we first started dating, and I was okay with it. But come on, Amy, I didn't expect any of this.
AMY: (crying) No, no.
LEVI: It's just been one thing after another. Ned going back and forth, my work, my mum, Felicity and now Zara.
AMY: Zara's always going to be my priority.
LEVI: And she should. You need to look after her, Ames. But I need to look after myself.
AMY: What is happening?
Levi cups her face in his hands and tries to soothe her, but Amy's quite devastated.
LEVI: We tried hard to make this work, but even if Zara's okay with us, I don't think I'll ever be okay with her after what happened. I don't think we should take a break, I think we should break up.
Lassiters Hotel Penthouse
Nicolette apologises to Britney once more for barging in on her moment with Leo. Britney says it's okay, the moment probably passed again anyway. Leo then walks in to say he got a text from Roxy asking if he was bringing anyone to the wedding, so he was wondering if Britney would like to be his plus one. "I'd love to go," Britney replies with a smile. Nicolette looks pleased and says she should get home, so Britney offers to walk her down. While they're near the elevator, Nicolette murmurs to Britney that the wedding could be the perfect time to come clean to Leo about her feelings. They enter the elevator just as Glen exits to see Leo. He offers another apology to Leo about not telling him about sleeping at the winery. But Leo's also sorry about the way he reacted, and tells Glen he's still got his job.
LEO: I guess now we just have to find you somewhere to live.
GLEN: Actually I've got a room at Terese's.
PAUL: (walking into the room right on cue) You what?!
GLEN: Works for her too. I'm going to be supporting her recovery.
Number 22
Terese answers a knock at the door and finds Paul. He explains that ever since the accident, all he's wanted is to know that she's okay, but he's respected her wishes and kept his distance. Terese says she appreciates it but she's managing fine. Paul then brings up the topic of Glen moving in.
TERESE: Yeah. Look, I know the two of you have your issues, so I trust that I won't be dragged into the middle of it.
PAUL: Of course not, that's the last thing I want to do. But are you sure there's nobody else that can help you through this? I mean anyone but Glen.
TERESE: No.
PAUL: I wished I could be the one to help you. I know I can't, so if this is what you really need then I won't make a big deal out of it.
TERESE: (surprised) Really? That's not like you.
PAUL: I just want you to get through this, darling.
He flinches when he realises he let an old term of endearment slip out. Terese then gets a text from Glen who lets her know he's bringing his things over now, so Paul says he won't get in her way.
Number 30
Mackenzie tells Hendrix that once the jelly crystals dissolve, they can put vodka in the pink jelly and water in the orange. Zara thinks the whole thing is lame and that alcohol should be in both flavours. Mackenzie calmly reminds Zara that not everyone drinks alcohol, but gets annoyed when Zara tries multiple times to dump vodka into the orange jelly. Toadie also gets annoyed and takes the bottle of alcohol from Zara.
TOADIE: You can't have it your way all the time.
ZARA: I'm helping here. This party is shaping up to be lame.
TOADIE: Well luckily you're not invited then.
MELANIE: Why don't we all just take a breather?
TOADIE: Your mum might let you get away with your spoilt brat behaviour, but it's not going to happen in my house.
ZARA: Excuse me?
TOADIE: You heard.
Hendrix and Mackenzie then step in and suggest everyone takes a break. Zara shakes her head in disgust at Toadie before she leaves with Mackenzie and Hendrix.
Ramsay Street
Leo finds Paul out the front of #32, watching Terese and Glen as they unpack stuff from the boot of Glen's car. Paul asks Leo what he thinks about "all this business", but Leo figures it's good Glen's got somewhere to stay. Glen and Terese then share a 'moment' when Glen accidentally drops a bag and they catch it at the same time, their hands brushing together. Paul's spidey senses go off.
PAUL: What was that?
LEO: What do you mean?
PAUL: The way he's carrying on with Terese! Oh come on, she needs support and he's making a move on her.
LEO: Dad, don't.
PAUL: I am not going to stand here and watch him take advantage of her.
LEO: (stopping Paul in his tracks) No, no, you'll just make things worse. Let's go find David and Isla, they'll make you feel better.
They cross paths with Melanie, who walks over to Glen looking unimpressed when she realises he's moving into Terese's. Melanie reminds him he's not going to be of any help to Terese when they're both so vulnerable.
GLEN: I've made my choice. And as my friend, I expect your support.
MELANIE: (sarcastically) Well I guess it's going to give you heaps of opportunity to tell her all about you having her wedding ring.
Number 30
Zara complains to Mackenzie and Hendrix that she has four dads in Queensland, nearly two here, and now Toadie's getting all parental on her. "To be fair, you were the one not listening to Mackenzie," Hendrix points out. Zara says it was all just a bit of fun, but Mackenzie says she wasn't laughing. For some reason, Mackenzie still gives Zara the honours of pouring the vodka into the pink jelly. When they realise there's no shot glasses to pour them into, Mackenzie says she left them in the car boot and asks Hendrix to help her look. Hendrix doesn't understand why Mac needs his help for that.
ZARA: (smirking) She wants to get you alone so you guys can finally talk about me.
MACKENZIE: No, no, I um-
ZARA: It's okay, Hendrix is probably dying to tell you about what happened this afternoon anyway.
MACKENZIE: (holding back a sigh) Okay.
HENDRIX: (after Mac walks out) You could try being a little nicer.
ZARA: Far out, can no one take a joke around here?
When Hendrix leaves, Zara then decides to pour the vodka into the orange jelly too.
Harold's Café
Toadie's picking up takeaway from Ned when Amy and Zara walk in. Zara has heard about the break up between her mum and Levi and is confused because she thought they were already done. "This is more of a permanent thing," Amy says tiredly. Toadie can't help but comment that it was nice of Amy to put Zara's happiness ahead of her own. Ned explains that Levi told him what happened and then he informed Toadie. "Are you okay?" Toadie asks Amy, who paints on a smile and claims she's fine. But Amy then says she's changed her mind about getting milkshakes and wants to head back upstairs and have pamper time with Zara instead. "Girls' night, yay!" Zara replies, glaring at Toadie before she leaves.
Number 30
The next morning Nell is trying to wheedle Mackenzie into giving her two of the non-alcoholic orange jelly shots (claiming Hugo doesn't want his). Mackenzie isn't sure Nell should be having jelly with her breakfast, but caves in and unwittingly gives Nell two jelly shots laced with vodka. Nell happily tucks into the treat.
