Police Station (exterior)
Yashvi can't quite believe that a harassment claim has been made against her when Mitch and Nelson were the ones creeping round Levi's house. Levi says that she was only looking out for his family and he feels bad about what's happening.
YASHVI: I decided to pull them in, it's on me.
They both look disheartened.
The Vineyard
LEO: Are your girl troubles back again?
CHLOE: They never really went away.
LEO: Last night you said things were going ok.
CHLOE: We act like it is but since Pierce came back it's brought up a lot of issues.
Leo pushes her to tell him more but she's reluctant to, saying it's not surprising, as it was her mum's birthday around that time too. He asks her again if she's sure she doesn't need to talk about it and she says she is. Leo doesn't look convinced.
Number 32
Aaron is giving Nicolette a massage in the garden, as Terese arrives. Terese tells Nicolette that Chloe said she wouldn't mind getting some papers she needs from the house, as Chloe can't make it back from the vineyard today. Nicolette asks Aaron for help to get up, but Terese says not to worry, she can get the papers another day. She tells Nicolette she knows what it's like at that stage of pregnancy. Nicolette then asks Aaron what he thinks about her having a water birth.
TERESE: I wanted to do that with Piper; she's my youngest, but she had other plans. I almost gave birth to her in the car on the way to the hospital!
AARON: Are you kidding me?
TERESE: No, impatient! From day one. Anyway, I'll see you later.
Terese leaves and Aaron begins to worry about Nicolette giving birth on the way to the hospital, as David comes outside and overhears.
DAVID: Who's stressing?
NICOLETTE: Your husband is worried I will give birth on the way to the hospital in the car.
AARON: No, I'm not, it's just; do we definitely know the fastest route there?
DAVID: I go there nearly every day, and there's not many options.
Aaron says they should use a stopwatch to time the different routes and Nicolette calls him 'dadzilla'. Aaron turns to David who looks bemused.
Number 26
Levi is blaming himself for the harassment claim against Vi, but Kyle and Sheila say it's not his fault. Sheila says they all make mistakes, including her; she admits she confronted Mitch and Nelson outside the police station and the boys aren't too happy, telling her to stay away from them from now on.
KYLE: In the meantime, we should start locking the doors, front and back.
SHEILA: And we should get one of those family tracker app things, so we know where everybody is.
LEVI: But in the long term though, I need to figure out a way to make them stay away for good.
The Vineyard
Leo and Chloe are sorting through paperwork and she says they should have a whole pile for Pierce's protein powder receipts.
LEO: Oh, well it's money well spent based on his guns.
CHLOE: And everything else.
LEO: Lucky Hendrix has better taste in meals than his dad.
CHLOE: What, you don't want your lobster bisque with...(reads receipt)...whey protein isolate (laughs)
LEO: It's good to see you like this again.
CHLOE: Like what?
LEO: You know, like, fun Chloe. I haven't seen much of her since I've been back.
Chloe admits that she's had a bad year with her divorce and her mum dying, which makes Leo feel bad. He hopes that the job will be a good distraction for her though and they can have fun with it. Hendrix and Mackenzie walk in.
HENDRIX: Alright, are you ready for your surprise?
MACKENZIE: It's all set up.
CHLOE: Do we at least get a clue?
HENDRIX: Just follow us (smiles)
Number 30
Levi's come to see Yashvi who's fretting that she's not heard from the sergeant yet. Levi says everyone at his is freaked out too, as Sheila confronted Mitch and Nelson outside the station and Kyle's looking at quotes for home security. Yashvi wonders whether the Rebecchis should get that installed too. Levi suggests that they go away, thinking if they remove themselves from the situation that Mitch and Nelson might leave them alone.
LEVI: What if next time Hugo finds something way more serious than a toy train?
Yashvi looks worried.
The Vineyard
Hendrix has decided to cook for Leo and Chloe.
LEO: You didn't have to do this.
HENDRIX: Like I said I'm really grateful for you taking me on. And I know I'm not a chef or anything...
CHLOE: Yet!
HENDRIX: But I'm really excited to cook for you both. Show you what I can do.
LEO: Bring it on.
Mackenzie says she's going to be their waitress and Hendrix says that he doesn't know wines as well as they do, so he asked his dad who suggested some vintages for each course. As he goes to the kitchen, Leo grabs some wine from the side, asking Chloe what she fancies.
CHLOE: I think we are going to be here for a while.
LEO: Well, you can't rush a long lunch Chlo, that would be a hospo crime.
CHLOE: Let's hope Nic shares your view.
Number 32
Aaron walks in, telling David he's timed the routes to the hospital and the quickest was via Power Road.
DAVID: Boo...
AARON: What? I know, but can I at least do this...I don't really have a lot of control over anything else.
Nicolette walks in and David tells her to sit down and they'll bring her snacks.
NICOLETTE: Ok, as long as you don't mind me hassling you for them and not Chlo, who just texted me to say she's gonna be at the winery all day.
She says she's happy for her so she doesn't want to go on about it.
AARON: But, I guess you wish your favourite person was here instead of us...
DAVID: Luckily, your second and third favourite person is completely at your disposal!...why don't we spend the time practising packing your overnight bag.
Nic doesn't look thrilled with the idea.
AARON: Or we can go online and find you some cute PJs for the hospital. Or why don't we go to the day spa and book in a pamper sesh?!
NICOLETTE: Now we're talking.
Nic smiles.
The Vineyard
Chloe thanks Mackenzie as she takes their dishes away.
CHLOE: That sauce was crazy good, the wild thyme really made it.
LEO: Yeah, and the duck with the plum, I didn't even know we had a plum tree on site...I thought the Malbec went down well with it too.
CHLOE: Oh really, I don't remember, I might just need to double-check (smiles).
Chloe's smile suddenly fades.
LEO: You ok?
Chloe: I just had a memory of watching mum wine-tasting. Not in a bad way, a little bit sad I guess...but nice.
They talk briefly about Fay before Chloe drinks more wine. Meanwhile, Hendrix asks Mackenzie how it's going.
HENDRIX: Any complaints?
MACKENZIE: Only that it has to end.
HENDRIX: Alright, I can take it from here if you wanna head off.
MACKENZIE: Look at them, they're loving it...You're gonna make head chef in no time.
HENDRIX: Do you think they're loving it a little too much, it kind of looks like a date.
MACKENZIE: No, they're just good friends. Sharing stories, having a laugh...that's what happens when you eat great food surrounded by wine.
Hendrix watches Leo and Chloe, not quite sharing Mackenzie's naive stance.
Number 26
Sheila and Levi are arguing about his plan to go away with Yashvi.
LEVI: Hear me out, gran.
SHEILA: I did and I don't like it. You and Yashvi staying in some random backpackers will achieve nothing. It will just put you further into the firing line.
LEVI: Well, it's better us than the rest of you.
Kyle agrees with Sheila. Levi says he should have to deal with this on his own but Kyle and Sheila say they're family and they'll deal with it together. Despite his protestations, Sheila's having none of it.
SHEILA: Listen to this, you are not moving out!
Harold's Café
Yashvi's just told Mackenzie what's happening with the thugs who have returned to target Levi. She encourages her to tell Toadie what's going on.
MACKENZIE: When will you find out where things are at with the harassment claim?
YASHVI: Sarge just called me before you got here and he said he's got enough evidence to forward it to the police conduct unit so...I'll have to speak to them soon.
Levi arrives and tells Vi that he thinks they should change their plans to leave the street. Mackenzie agrees that they should stay.
YASHVI: But what happened to keeping our families away from them?
LEVI: I don't know, we're just gonna have to find another way.
YASHVI: Well, I don't see that there's another way if we don't bust them.
LEVI: We can't, Vi.
YASHVI: You know that there's something big in the works that they're planning at that warehouse. Why else would they be lurking around there after hours or trying to scare us off?
LEVI: You're facing a harassment charge, Vi. We can't do this.
MACKENZIE: Yeah, Levi's right. You have to think smart. And safe.
YASHVI: I'll see what the conduct unit says, but I'm not giving up. And you're not going to either.
Yashvi and Mackenzie leave. Levi, clearly overwhelmed by what's happening, begins to have what looks like a panic attack, as David walks in.
DAVID: Levi, are you alright?...I'll get you some water.
The Waterhole
Aaron and Nicolette enter the bar and greet Terese. Nicolette's brought the papers she wanted earlier. The pair say David's getting Nic's favourite muffin from Harold's then they're going to the day spa.
NICOLETTE: Yeah, if my feet can make it. Any more swelling and we're moving to serious cankle territory.
TERESE: Yeah, I don't miss that. Actually, you know what really helped me? Nettle tea.
NICOLETTE: I will try anything at this point.
TERESE: Oh, well I'll pick some up for you and drop it off later. See ya.
NICOLETTE: Thank you.
After Terese leaves, Nic comments that it's amazing how she's so nice and yet she's with Paul. Aaron agrees, before Nic gets a text from Chloe. Aaron wonders where David's got to. Sick of waiting, they decide to go to the day spa without him.
NICOLETTE: I wish Chloe was here.
AARON: Me too, it would make it easier to lift you. Nic, listen. Chloe's not gonna be up to her neck in winery work forever, ok? She'll be piling on the pampering before you know it, right? Let's go.
Nic smiles.
The Vineyard
Leo and Chloe are coming to the end of their meal.
HENDRIX: Do you want any coffee, tea?
LEO: Are you trying to say we need to sober up? (laughs)
CHLOE: I couldn't fit in another thing. That was seriously mind-blowingly delicious, Hendrix.
LEO: It actually reminds me of a meal I had at Vance.
HENDRIX: Come off it, that place is unreal!
LEO: Do you remember when I wanted to take us there when we were (dating)?
HENDRIX: Oh, were you guys a thing?
LEO: Not really.
CHLOE: Barely at all, it's complicated.
LEO: But it was fun while it lasted, right?
CHLOE: Hey, that is enough in front of my ex-stepson, thank you! (laughs)
Chloe asks Hendrix what ideas he has for the restaurant but she gets a text from Nic. She glances at her phone before telling Hendrix and Leo about her own ideas, then her and Leo go for a walk. Chloe invites Hendrix too, but Leo tells him to stay behind and clean up the kitchen. As they leave, Hendrix looks concerned about how close the two of them seem.
Lassiters Lake
David and Levi are walking along the lake.
DAVID: You feeling better?
LEVI: Yeah, thanks.
DAVID: Anxiety under any circumstances isn't surprising. Just seeing the men who caused your epilepsy would be triggering but the fact they're now threatening you.
LEVI: Look, I brought this on myself by looking for them.
DAVID: No, you didn't. They're the ones who caused your trauma and PTSD.
Levi says that he thought it might help him get over everything if he tracked them down, but it hasn't. He tells David that Yashvi thinks if they catch them in the midst of their criminal activity and they're sent to prison, that might help him move on. David points out that whatever happens, it won't erase what happened in the past. He asks if Levi's spoken to a counsellor and he has, but it wasn't a good fit. David offers to chat with him whenever he's feeling stressed and Levi's seems reluctant at first, but grateful.
DAVID: Yeah, that would be good. Thank you.
The Waterhole
Yashvi's just told Kyle and Sheila that she's told Toadie what's going on. Apparently he didn't take it well, but would rather know what was going on than not.
SHEILA: Yeah, well, I've done the sums. And if you count both houses I reckon we've got 6 adults against 2 creeps. 7, if we count Amy in.
Levi walks in.
SHEILA: Oh, hi love. Yashvi's just been telling us she's gotta get her complaint process out of the way and then those two are gonna get what's coming to them.
LEVI: No. I appreciate it Vi, and it means a lot, but we have to let it go now.
YASHVI: Why?
LEVI: The best case scenario is you get your harassment charge dropped. You and I will both be on notice, but we can't afford to step out of line now.
YASHVI: So we just let them get away with whatever they're pulling off.
LEVI: We don't know what that is or when it'll be.
Levi and Yashvi continue to disagree about what they should do, until Levi agrees to go with her plan; to find evidence on them, on the condition that once they do, they let the other police handle it and take a step back.
Harold's Café
Hendrix and Mackenzie enter the Café. She asks him how much his Uber was to come home.
HENDRIX: No idea, Leo paid.
MACKENZIE: Oh my God, such a good boss.
HENDRIX: Yeah, or more evidence that he was trying to get rid of me.
They order some drinks and find a table. Mackenzie doesn't think there's anything suss with Leo's behaviour, like Hendrix does, but she's glad he's home so they could meet up.
The Vineyard
Leo tells Chloe he's thinking of starting a bonfire.
CHLOE: Oh, I'll bring the marshmallows and sparklers. That uh, fun Chloe enough for you?
LEO: Oh, I haven't lived that down yet, hey? (smiles)
Chloe laughs.
CHLOE: Another day or two should do it.
LEO: Well, at the risk of being thrown in that fire myself...You do seem a bit more serious than when I left.
Chloe smiles awkwardly.
LEO: And I know you've got some really good reasons for that and your diagnosis meant you can't help but see life differently.
Chloe says he seems a bit worried about her and he remarks that he just doesn't want her too lose too much of her 'Chloeness'. She says there are few people who are happy go lucky all the time and he says she's probably right. Leo says he's seen plenty of that side of her today anyway.
Harold's Café
Hendrix and Mackenzie are still talking about Leo and Chloe.
HENDRIX: You were wrong about those two just being old friends, they used to hook up.
MACKEZNIE: So?
HENDRIX: So, doesn't that make him wanting to spend alone time with her a bit suss?
MACKENZIE: Does that mean I should be suss if you and Harlow are alone?
Hendrix doesn't see the comparison.
MACKENZIE: That's the logic you're implying. Look, Chloe and Nicolette are solid. Plus, it's not any of your business anyway.
HENDRIX: I haven't always been a massive fan of Nicolette but I think of Chloe as family. I don't want her caught up in any drama.
The Vineyard
Chloe picks up her handbag, ready to leave.
LEO: Hey, what are you doing with that?
CHLOE: It's home time.
LEO: Well, it doesn't have to be.
He picks up a bottle of wine from the side. They both smile and Chloe puts her things back down.
