- Lyn advising Paul to call the wedding off for Terese's sake
Lassiters Complex
Paul is appalled that Lyn is sticking her nose in his relationship with Terese like "some harbinger of doom" and can't believe she's still bitter about their non-wedding.
PAUL: Let me make this perfectly clear - nothing is going to happen between you and me. Because leaving you was the best thing that I ever did.
LYN: And the only thing I'll ever thank you for! I have no interest in you, Paul. None whatsoever.
Paul sneers that Lyn should just clear off back to Bendigo; nothing is going to stop his wedding with Terese. Lyn glares at him as he walks off.
Number 32
Aaron and David help Leo carry in some boxes of alcohol leftover from Back Lane Bar after he had to close it down. Roxy saunters in, chattering away in a good mood until she realises what's happened with the bar. She attempts to coerce Leo into reopening; suggesting they don't need to pay their upcoming insurance fee, but the deed has been done. They're out of business.
The Waterhole
Chloe and Elly are catching up, chatting about Leo closing the bar.
CHLOE: Az told me they're way bummed.
ELLY: I just can't believe they lost the whole business over one bad mistake.
CHLOE: Leo worked really hard on it. And Roxy worked really...
ELLY: Infrequently?
CHLOE: I was going to say drunk, but that too!
Elly's pleased her and Chloe can still hang out together as friends without it being awkward. Chloe agrees, but when Elly leaves she almost starts to cry, struggling with her emotions. Pierce clocks how sad Chloe looks from across the room.
Number 22
Roxy and Leo bring some of the alcohol over to store away and they let Harlow know the news about the bar. Harlow wonders why they can't just ask Paul for a loan, which Roxy thinks is a brilliant idea. But Leo shuts that thought down straight away. He explains to Roxy he doesn't want to be under his dad's thumb, so Roxy says she'll go into business with Paul instead.
LEO: Don't bother. Dad won't go into business without me; he won't take risks.
ROXY: What risk? I know how to run a bar, Leo.
LEO: No offence, Rox, but your work ethic... It needs some work.
He adds that she doesn't have enough experience to run it on her own. Roxy is very peeved with Leo's assessment of her.
Lassiters Complex
Karl's quite surprised to run into Lyn. He invites her along to have lunch with him and Susan, making Lyn quip that there's "always time for a Kennedy catch-up." She starts talking about Paul and Terese's wedding, but Karl tries to change the subject.
KARL: What about Oscar? Still on the farm with Joe?
LYN: Oscar's doing an apprenticeship: mechanics, following in Steph's footsteps.
That's enough about Lynnie's family, though, as she's way too keen to know more details about the wedding. Karl is quite uncomfortable with the questioning.
LYN: I have to say it's a bit of a surprise Paul doesn't learn from his mistakes.
KARL: Yeah, couldn't really comment on that.
LYN: Yeah. Oh well, at least Terese can walk down the aisle. (Off Karl's confusion) Y'know, as opposed to that previous fiancée who would have been pushed in a stroller.
KARL: Oh right, yeah Courtney was... younger.
Lyn continues with her questions as they make their way to find Susan.
Number 32
David asks Chloe for help cheering up Leo but then realises poor Chloe might need some cheering up herself. Chloe, however, pretends her catch-up with Elly went well and that she's fine. David realises Chloe needs some space and leaves her be for now.
Number 22
Paul's extremely concerned when he arrives home to find Terese, holding her handbag, sitting next to a packed suitcase. Terese tells Paul she can't cope anymore with everyone telling her she's making a huge mistake: she has to leave.
PAUL: I thought we were happy together?
TERESE: Yeah but for how long? Until you destroy it!
PAUL: Why would I jeopardise what we have? Terese I love you.
TERESE: The universe is telling me something and I can't ignore it.
Paul's startled when Lyn suddenly appears and asks Terese if she's ready to go. He starts to beg Terese not to go... Until it becomes clear that Paul's only daydreaming. In reality, he's sitting on the couch with Terese discussing wedding details. Terese smiles, teasing him that he was a million miles away. Paul smiles back, but the daydream has clearly rattled him.
Number 24
Roxy pops over unannounced and tells Mark that her and Leo lost the bar. Mark says he's sorry to hear it and invites her to sit down and have some cake. Roxy chuckles, thinking he's talking in code, but Mark legitimately made a carrot cake. Roxy isn't in the mood for cake, though, she's got another distraction in mind. Mark tries to protest, but doesn't put up much of a fight when Roxy starts dragging him towards the bedroom.
Lassiters Complex
It appears as though Lyn hasn't drawn breath talking about Paul and Terese's wedding if Karl and Susan's polite, bewildered looks are anything to go by. Lyn jokes she'd love to see Paul's wedding vows and asks if celebrant Susan has seen them, but Susan says no. When Lynnie heads off to conduct more Retreat interviews, Karl and Susan chat about why Lyn's so stuck on getting gossip about Paul and Terese.
KARL: Knowing Paul he's probably done something to stir her up.
SUSAN: Yeah he certainly doesn't bring out the best in her, that's for sure.
KARL: Hey, what are the chances of two ex-wives showing up so close to the wedding?
SUSAN: He does have a lot of ex-wives.
"And a lot of weddings!" they say in unison, laughing and linking pinkies at their jinx. Karl can't help but wonder if Lyn still holds a candle for Paul, which Susan scoffs at.
KARL: Or maybe she's planning a repeat performance of what she did to Rebecca?
SUSAN: Oh no, I hope not.
KARL: Maybe Terese should get her dress scotch guarded just in case.
SUSAN: Oh stop it! Stop it.
They both try not to giggle at the thought.
Number 32
Kyle and Amy are having a nice time hanging out when Pierce suddenly appears looking for Chloe. Kyle tells him she's hiding out in her room and Pierce deduces it's because of "the Elly thing". Pierce then apologises to the two of them for interfering in their love life, but Kyle and Amy figure if he didn't then they wouldn't be together and loved-up now. Chloe appears looking less polished than usual in her pyjamas and Amy and Kyle clear out so Pierce can talk to her. He asks if she wants to come to the movies with him as mates, but Chloe sadly says she's not great company and just wants to relax at home.
Number 24
Roxy's legs are draped over Mark's lap as they sit on the couch and eat the carrot cake. Mark's worried they need to have a chat about what they're doing before anyone gets hurt. He thinks they should slow down and figure out where everything is leading, but Roxy figures hooking up with a hottie doesn't have to be a big deal.
ROXY: If our little play dates help us get over what's being chucked at us then I think we should keep going.
MARK: Okay but if we do, we need to set some boundaries and ground rules.
ROXY: (grinning) Are you finally going to get the handcuffs out?
MARK: This stays between you and me, okay? No one is to hear about it.
ROXY: You're such a straighty-180.
MARK: I don't usually do this sort of thing.
ROXY: Yeah well now you know what you're missing out on.
They start to kiss but have to break apart and act normal when Aaron pops over. Roxy pretends she was there for an update on the bar money and quickly leaves. Aaron's flabbergasted that Roxy's still hounding his brother, but Mark just deadpans that Roxy's "always on me... never lets up."
Number 22
Paul's shocked when he sees Terese sitting next to some luggage, just like his daydream, but is immensely relieved when she admits she bought them as a present for their honeymoon. He goes overboard in his relief, telling Terese he loves the gift and he loves her. Paul kisses her and says they should head out for lunch.
Number 32
Amy finds Chloe moping with some ice cream and attempts to cheer her up by saying a supplier gave her a voucher for a personal shopping experience in the city. It's not really Amy's thing so she thought Chloe could use it. At first Chloe doesn't want to go, saying she's not in the mood. But when Amy says it expires that day then Chloe accepts and heads off to get ready.
Harold's Café
Aaron's surprised when Mark changes up his drink order, wondering when he got so adventurous. Mark says change can be good. Roxy walks in and throws a smile their way (and a drink order at Aaron), before heading over to where Harlow's sitting. Harlow's less than thrilled to see her, but Roxy just needs a cover while she secretly texts Mark. Roxy and Mark swap a few messages, smirking as they go. Harlow wonders why Roxy's suddenly in such a good mood but Roxy just says she's found an outlet for her frustrations.
Lassiters Complex
Terese and Paul emerge from The Waterhole and Terese comments that Paul hasn't been himself today. She wonders if it's because Gail and Lyn are hanging around and Paul snarks that it's like being haunted by the walking dead.
Lyn and Sheila watch them go and Sheila offers Lyn her wine on the house if she wants to throw it in Paul's face, "it feels good, believe you me." Lyn smirks and says she heard about what Sheila did, congratulating her on pushing back.
SHEILA: Not that it's going to make any difference, the man's like a cat. He always lands on his feet.
LYN: Ah, well maybe his luck's about to run out.
SHEILA: You got something special in mind have you?
LYN: Not me, no. It's just life has a way of settling scores. Sometimes all you've got to do is wait.
Sheila doesn't look convinced but Lyn looks as though she knows some juicy info.
The Waterhole
Chloe's in a far better mood after her shopping trip and asks Sheila for a glass of champers. She's surprised when Sheila has her favourite on hand, noting that it's not usually on the wine list. But it soon becomes apparent that Pierce, who is conveniently loitering near the bar, has put it on there for her to cheer her up. Chloe soon realises Pierce was behind the shopping trip too. Pierce hopes Chloe's not mad at him - or at Amy for being roped into it - but Chloe says she almost forgot "how ridiculously thoughtful" he is and invites him to have a drink with her.
Harold's Café
Harlow's curious as to who Roxy is texting, so when Roxy goes to the counter to get her drink, Harlow takes a peek at Roxy's phone. She's shocked yet amused to see a text on there from Mark with the peach, eggplant and cake emojis on it and the message 'Same time tonight?' Roxy quickly snatches her phone back from Harlow.
HARLOW: That's who you've hooked up with! The police officer with the dramatic love life. That is why you are so happy.
ROXY: Can you just keep your voice down? Nobody's meant to find out.
HARLOW: This place is ridiculous. You people are outrageous.
ROXY: Shut up, Bore-low. Just because you don't know how to have fun.
Harlow spies Elly over at the counter and gets a smirk on her face. She tells Roxy she bets Miss Conway would 'love' to know about her dalliance with Mark. Roxy's horrified, even more so when Harlow calls Elly over because she wants to tell her something.
Coming up on Neighbours
Chloe isn't pleased with Pierce.
CHLOE: You want to fix everything and that's not how it works.
PIERCE: I wanted to defend you, Chloe.
Shane has a chat with Ned.
SHANE: You need to take a step back, okay?
Chloe visits Elly in the hospital.
CHLOE: I'll always be here for you.
Karl can't help have a dig at Paul (as it cuts to Paul and Terese looking on in shock at someone).
KARL: My guess is you're wondering when your next ex-wife is going to emerge from the swamp.
Amy has a chat with Leo. Paul is alone, looking forlorn.
AMY: You think dad will really cancel the wedding?
