Aaron assures David he's doing the right thing, as he makes a call to tell the police that Finn hasn't turned up for their appointment. But at that moment, Aaron gets a call from Bea, who is still in The City™ with Finn. She explains she's been trying to reach David, to talk to him about Finn. Overhearing this, David puts the other phone down, and takes Aaron's so he can talk to Bea.
BEA: David, please don't freak out - I'm with Finn. I'm bringing him back now.
DAVID: Bringing him back? Where have you been?
BEA: He's gonna be late, but he's coming to his appointment. Please don't report him.
DAVID: Okay. No police yet, but - get him here as soon as possible.
Aaron sighs frustratedly. In The City™...
BEA (to Finn): So, you've got another chance. You'd better not blow it this time.
Back at the hospital...
AARON: So he doesn't even have an excuse?
DAVID: I'm sure he does. I just don't know what it is yet. Bea promised he'll be back soon.
AARON: David, you still have to report him!
DAVID: I signed up to help Finn. The least I can do is hear him out.
No 22
Leo is waiting for Roxy to get ready so they can go out. Roxy reaches for her shoes, and finds that Clementine has left a present in one of them! She casually wipes the cat dung on one of Paul's cleanly ironed shirts. Leo's keen to go and toast their new bar venture; Roxy reminds him that she paid the deposit, but he promises to pay her half of it soon.
Before they can leave, Terese and Paul come in. Paul sees Roxy with the shoe and the soiled shirt, and goes mad.
PAUL: That's my shirt!
ROXY: I had no idea. Soz.
PAUL: Why do I doubt the sincerity of that apology?
Leo goes to wait outside, and Roxy hands Paul the shirt, before following him! Once they've gone, Paul complains to Terese that Roxy is insufferable. Terese admits she's put in a pretty poor show working at the hotel too, but tells Paul not to rise to the bait so much.
PAUL: Why should I be the one to change?!
TERESE: Look, I know she's hard work. But she'll settle down. I mean, I did!
PAUL: You know what? You are being used, Terese. She is playing the long con here.
TERESE: It's just a shirt, Paul.
The Waterhole
Gary is talking to Amy about his dissatisfaction with working at the nursery, despite not wanting to leave Toadie in the lurch. Amy encourages him to follow his passions; Gary wishes he could get a kitchen gig.
Kyle comes in, and Gary invites him to join them for coffee. But Kyle clearly isn't keen - particularly when he gets a text from Chloe, telling him to come back to the house as everyone else is out! Kyle makes excuses to leave, saying he doesn't want to interrupt if they're talking wedding stuff. Gary is keen for Kyle's input and Amy nods, but doesn't look so keen.
Kyle says he has work to deal with anyway, and rushes off.
AMY (to Gary): Maybe next time, then!
Erinsborough Hospital
Finn arrives in David's office, apologising fulsomely for being late. But David is unimpressed, and wants an explanation.
FINN: I freaked out. I was gonna run away. It's okay, don't worry; Bea talked sense into me.
DAVID: That doesn't sound okay.
FINN: It won't happen again. I've got some things straight now.
DAVID: If you're even a minute late to another appointment, I will call the cops; I'm not taking any more risks.
FINN: You won't have to.
David says they need to hook Finn up to some apparatus to monitor his physical and emotional responses - and then he can tell him why he had the urge to run away. Finn nods...

Chloe tells Kyle that Leo has gone into town with Roxy, David is at work and Aaron is at Mark's - so they are free to use the house as they please! She also updates Kyle on Elly; she and the baby are going to be fine.
Chloe admits she's wishing she could do more for Elly and Mark than keep her distance, though she knows it's for the best right now. She shows Kyle an expensive rattle she's bought for the baby when it arrives. She also says drinks are on her tonight.
Kyle comments that Chloe seems to be rolling in money right now; and she reveals she has a present for him, too - a tool belt. Kyle reacts awkwardly.
KYLE: I didn't think we were at the gift-giving stage!
Chloe looks awkward herself, then plays it down.
CHLOE: ... Oh. It's no big deal. It's more an investment - you know, for when I put a dent in the wall that I don't want Aaron to see!
KYLE: Yeah... I like it! Thanks! ... Actually, you know, this might come in handy. I've got a feeling my bed needs a proper inspection.
CHLOE: Does it now?!
KYLE: Yeah, well - it's hard to know it's safe without rigorous testing!
CHLOE: Sounds like a job for two...
KYLE: Yeah, it is!
They head to the bedroom, hand in hand...
Erinsborough Hospital
David has his apparatus hooked up to Finn's head, which he explains will monitor his responses. He'll be having fortnightly PET scans too, he explains.
DAVID: Let's start by you telling me, what triggered your decisions today?
FINN: It's lots of things, really. Everyone being angry with Susan because of me; Bea worrying about Ned. And I had this run-in with Toadie (...) He's not in a good place; I was... I was stupid (...) He said he didn't want my help, and I couldn't leave it. I wanted to do something for him.
DAVID: You want people to think better of you; that's understandable.
FINN: Yeah, but it's more than that. I... I want to take away everyone's pain. I wish I could just take it all on my shoulders.
DAVID: And that's what you're trying to do?
FINN: Yeah, but not very well. There's this look that people get on their faces when they see me. Like... like they're traumatised. I just want to make them feel better.
David looks affected by what he's heard.
No 28
Finn quietly lets himself into the house, and Bea is waiting for him. She tells him that she threw his goodbye note to the Kennedys away, figuring he wouldn't want to cause any more stress today.
FINN: Thank you.
BEA: I haven't told anyone about what happened today, but I will when everything's calmed down.
FINN: Makes sense.
Ned appears at the bedroom door, and asks if Bea is coming to bed; she goes past him into the bedroom. Ned sticks around to talk to Finn.
NED: Bea's asked me to trust her judgement where you're concerned.
FINN: Yeah, she told me.
NED: Doesn't mean I trust you, though.
FINN: Look, it's been a big day -
NED: Here's the deal. I'm gonna be watching you. And if you make the slightest slip-up, that's it.
Ned heads into the bedroom, leaving Finn looking worried.
The Waterhole
Kyle is having a meeting with Paul about Robinson Pines. Amy turns up just as they're finishing, and Paul leaves, encouraging her to stay and chat with Kyle. Amy says she thinks she understands why Kyle didn't want to stay and chat with her and Gary last night. Kyle is surprised, perhaps thinking she must know about Chloe - but she doesn't.
AMY: All this wedding talk - it must be horrible when you've just split up with Georgia.
KYLE: Yeah - I mean, sure (...) it's a little difficult. But I don't want to spoil things for you.
AMY: Well, yeah. I mean, you don't have to play the tough bloke with me.
KYLE: Okay, roger that.
Kyle rushes off, unwilling to continue the conversation further. Amy looks worried.
Meanwhile, Roxy has an elaborate-looking cocktail, and is on the phone to someone. She tells them she's had a 'big night out' celebrating with a new business partner.
ROXY: ... No, no - I'm just trying to numb the sadness of missing you, that's all...
She glances over to where Paul is nearby at the bar.
ROXY: ... Painful Paul alert. You know, I am so glad living with this tool is temporary... Alright, talk later, baby. Bye.
She hangs up, and Paul, who has overheard the end of her conversation, wanders over, intrigued. Roxy claims she was talking to a friend from the Northern Territory. Paul is sceptical that she really calls her friends 'baby'.
PAUL: You know, with all of these friends of yours up there with such terrible names, why are you really still here?
ROXY: Just like everyone says - Auntie T's gonna get me on the straight and narrow!
PAUL: Yeah. Cute cover story. I'll find out what your real angle is.
ROXY: Well, have fun with that. Just like I had fun with your son last night.
Paul looks annoyed, and walks off.
Erinsborough Hospital
David is taking out Aaron's stitches from the razor blade apricot incident.
AARON: I hope Finn realises that you have spent half the night working because of him.
DAVID: The first interview was just fascinating. And it made me excited for the research project.
AARON: Sounds like you've joined Team Finn.
DAVID: No - I'm 'Team Intrigued By Opportunities And Medical Breakthroughs'. I know the name needs work, but -
AARON: David, I get that this is good for your career.
DAVID: No, it's about much more than that. I'm monitoring Finn for any return of psychopathic behaviours.
AARON: Okay - should we be worried?
DAVID: ... Well, I can't betray the trust of our conversations. But I can tell you, last night, Finn demonstrated emotional insight, and genuine empathy for others.
AARON: Yeah, okay. And that's what Finn does. He charms people.
DAVID: True psychopaths are incapable of those traits. Finn's not a threat. And by working with him, I'll know if that changes. Trust me; this is the best thing moving forward for everyone.
But Aaron doesn't look convinced.
Lassiter's Complex
Roxy watches from a distance, as Paul and Chloe talk about their arrangement as regards Kyle. Chloe tells Paul she's still got the situation under control (while simultaneously receiving a text from him, saying 'ready and waiting'!) and so Paul hands her an envelope full of money. Paul walks off, and Roxy smiles curiously, wondering what the money's for.
No 32
Chloe returns to the house, to find Kyle dressed only in his new tool belt! He flings his boxers in her direction as she walks through the door, and they land on the table.
CHLOE: So you did like my gift?
KYLE: Mm-hm.
CHLOE: Is that a hammer in your tool belt, or...?
KYLE: Yeah, it is, actually. But I am still very happy to see you.
CHLOE: I don't have much time.
So they quickly get down to the undressing and the pashing. But then they hear Paul coming in with Aaron; they're meeting to discuss business as regards The Shed. Chloe and Kyle creep into the back yard to avoid being seen. Paul finds Kyle's discarded boxers on the table, and Aaron looks unimpressed.
In the garden, a practically starkers Kyle takes a sheet off the washing line, offering it to Chloe to cover her modesty. But she's a lot more dressed than he is, so he wraps it around himself instead. Kyle decides this situation is getting ridiculous; they should come clean to their housemates about their hook-ups.
CHLOE: We don't need to be public! I'm not your GF!
KYLE: Not trying to lock you down, promise! It's just - look at all this hassle.
CHLOE: Sneaking around is half the fun! Come on, you've got to admit - it's kind of hot every time we almost get caught. Leave the toga, bring the tool belt.
KYLE (German accent): Super guy!
He drops the sheet, and they rush off to the Doug-Out to TITTNL™...
No 26
Gary is whipping cream in the kitchen, and talking about his future career options - he asks Sheila if Clive could find him a job in the hospital kitchen. Sheila seems positive about this possibility; Gary says he just wants something that will make him happy, like Kyle is at Robinson Pines.
AMY: Do you think he *is* happy?
GARY: Well, he seems to be getting stuck into it.
AMY: Is it possible he's burying himself in work for a reason?
SHEILA: I think he's taking pride in his job. There's nothing odd about that.
But Amy starts talking about Kyle's break-up with Georgia.
AMY: Have we really asked him if he's okay?
But Sheila says she doesn't think they need to worry; Kyle is coping in his own way, and there are others he probably prefers to talk to about it than them, such as his housemates. Sheila looks shifty.
No 22
Leo and Terese are sitting silently in the front room; it's awkward. They're waiting for Paul to get home; Terese is sure he'll be here soon. Leo breaks the ice with talk about Elly, and how she should be out of hospital shortly.
Paul comes in, and we learn that the reason Leo's here is for Paul's buyout money for the backpackers'. Paul begins to offer investment advice, but Leo cuts him off - saying he's buying the Back Lane Bar with Roxy! Paul and Terese are both incredulous, and have no idea where Roxy could've got her share of the money. Leo says it's a question for her.
PAUL: Tying yourself to that girl financially? Leo, are you mad?
But Leo tells them he doesn't answer to them anymore, and leaves.
The Waterhole
Ned and Roxy come in; Roxy is asking him whether Chloe works for Paul. Ned says not directly, and asks her why she's asking; Roxy replies 'no reason'. Ned introduces Roxy to Aaron and Bea, who are having a coffee together. Roxy seems very taken with Aaron, realising he must be the one who lives with Leo.
ROXY: So tell me, is your house exclusively for hot people, or what?
AARON: Yeah, pretty much.
They all laugh - it's funny because it's true. Roxy is also taken with Bea.
ROXY: What a total fox! You know, I am in the market for a bestie - and I've just decided you're in the running.
BEA: Sounds like a fun job!
ROXY: You have no idea!
Finn comes in. He walks past them, but Bea stops him, asking if everything is okay. The others all go awkwardly quiet.
FINN: Aaron, I've been working with David. I just want to say, he's awesome.
AARON: No, it's fine. I don't need you to tell me about my own husband, thank you very much.
FINN: I'm just trying to be nice.
AARON (laughs): It's funny, you know - cos good people actually don't *have* to try.
Ned smirks, but Bea looks uncomfortable.
FINN: Well, maybe you should.
Finn walks off, clearly hurt.
ROXY: Woah. Drama-llama!
AARON: Can you believe that guy's nerve?
NED: He's just trying to slime his way in anywhere.
Bea visibly doesn't agree, but bites her tongue and makes an excuse to leave. Once she's gone, Roxy says it's clear Bea disagrees with Ned about Finn. Ned says she's just trying to be kind to him.
ROXY: Aren't you worried that he's gonna do something to her?
FINN: There have been a few weird incidents on the street. But Bea has it under control, so...
AARON: Look, it's tricky, you know? Some scary things have happened, and Finn definitely has form. But there's no proof that it was actually him, so...
ROXY (to Ned): Are you a housebroken puppy? Grow a pair and find some proof.
We cut to Finn, still looking hurt.
No 22
Terese comes off the phone, and tells Paul that Gemma and Adam, Roxy's parents, are just as nonplussed as they are as to where Roxy got the money to buy the Back Lane Bar. Paul doesn't think the answer can be good, and is worried about what she's getting Leo into.
PAUL: She is preying on Leo in a moment of weakness.
TERESE: You have to admit, owning a bar is a good fit for Leo.
PAUL: Yeah, if his judgement wasn't still obviously impaired.
Terese decides to talk to Roxy and find out the full story. But Paul thinks Terese needs to send Roxy back where she came from.
PAUL: She is a walking lawsuit, who wipes cat excrement on my clothing! And who, I am in no doubt, is defrauding my vulnerable son!
TERESE: She is still my niece.
PAUL: She is your step-niece!
TERESE: Leo is a big boy!
But Paul has had enough.
PAUL: You strong-armed me into moving in here in the first place, and Hurricane Roxy was not part of that deal. So now you have a choice - it's either her or me.
No 26
Amy tells Sheila she's going to go and check in on Kyle. But Sheila asks where all this concern for Kyle is coming from.
AMY: He's a mate (...) Haven't you noticed, every time the separation comes up, he bolts?
SHEILA: Yes, well, he's probably sick of everybody bothering him about it!
AMY: Well, I won't push - I'll just drop in. And we're gonna be family soon - so I want to tell him I care.
SHEILA: Wait, stop - you can't... He's not there.
AMY: Yeah, he is - I saw him go in!
SHEILA: Well, he's probably having a nap!
Amy starts to realise that Sheila is hiding something, and asks her what it is.
SHEILA: Kyle is not dealing with things on his own; he has Chloe.
AMY: Oh... I thought things had fizzled out?
SHEILA: No, they're still together - in secret. So he doesn't need you.
AMY: Yeah. Right. I see.
SHEILA: Don't mention I said anything, okay? But take it from me - he's fine.
No 22
Roxy comes in, and tells Paul she's been summoned by Auntie T. Paul gives her a sneak preview of the reason why, smugly telling her she's about to be thrown out.
ROXY: Why?
PAUL: Because you can't be trusted; and therefore, I don't want you living under my roof.
ROXY: *I* can't be trusted? (...) Well, I saw you with Chloe before, handing over cash. Does Terese know about that?
PAUL: ... That was a business conversation, and quite frankly, none of your business.
ROXY: I take that as a no. Maybe I should have a word with her.
PAUL: ... If you like.
ROXY: Or, maybe you could tell her that you've changed your mind, and you think I should stay.
Terese comes downstairs, and tells Roxy she has some disappointing news for her.
ROXY: Could that wait? Paul has something really important he wants to tell you.
Terese waits for an explanation, as Paul gives Roxy the evils...
