- Xanthe and Yashvi tell Mishti they've found a photo of her on a website for arranged marriages.
- Mishti explains that she believes using the website is a practical way to find a husband. Dipi says she thinks it's a bad idea.
- Gary discusses Jeremy's cash with Ned.
- Elissa Gallow is revealed as Cassius' mother.
- Elissa reveals that Cassius killed Hamish.
- Elissa tells Cassius to find the medallion he lost the night Hamish died.
- Ned and Bea see Cassius at the hotel even though he had told Piper he was working in Eden Hills.
Ned and Bea are on one of their late night walks. She tells him a story about her time living on the streets which inspired her rose tattoo. She says she'd like to get a tattoo of the moon and that he could do it for her. Ned seems to be miles away prompting Bea to ask why he's so distracted and he says that he's still thinking about Cassius.
Bea suggests various reasons as to why he was at the hotel such as doing some work there or possibly cheating on Piper but Ned doesn't seem convinced. Drawing on her experience with Finn, she tells Ned to follow his gut instinct as something could be wrong and it's best not to avoid the warning signs.
Dipi and Mishti are looking at suitors on the website for arranged marriages. Mishti comes across a baker and Dipi, lacking subtlety as usual, comes up with reasons as to why he's not a good match, such as getting up at 3am for work and bringing home loads of cakes which would make her put on weight. Mishti instead sees the positives.
Shane approaches and Mishti asks him if he can take Dipi away. Mishti berates Dipi for finding fault with every guy on the website but Dipi says she only wants the best for her little sister. Getting annoyed with Dipi, Mishti decides to leave.
When alone, Shane encourages Dipi to let Mishti makes her own choices, but Dipi hopes she might be able to steer Mishti in a different direction with a little persuasion. Shane's doubtful and says that Mishti is headstrong. Dipi wonders if there's anyone else whose opinion matters to Mishti that might be able to help.
The Backpackers (exterior)
Piper tells Ned that Terese conveniently forgot her phone charger this morning. She then ribs him for how poorly ironed his shirt is and suggests dropping by the Backpackers to use their iron. He jokes that she only wants to see Cassius and before long he greets them at the entrance to the Backpackers.
Cassius says he's about to go to work and Piper asks how things went last night when he worked late. He replies that he got home at about 10.30. Ned looks uncomfortable, clearly still suspicious about what Cassius is up to.
Xanthe is playing her euphonium which seems to be getting on Sheila's nerves. Gary walks in with a pile of letters containing Xanthe's recent medical bills. He starts to panic as the money has to be paid within 7 days but Sheila reassures him that the insurance money should be paid soon. Xanthe offers to cancel some of her private sessions but Gary insists he will figure something out.
Dipi tells Leo about Mishti looking for an arranged marriage online and asks if he can help discourage her from going in that direction. He doesn't look like he wants to get involved but Dipi continues to plead with him.
Bea enters just as Ned is about to leave. She asks him if he has told Piper about Cassius being at Lassiters last night. He hasn't and says that Cassius just lied again about his whereabouts the previous night. Bea thinks he needs to tell Piper but Ned doesn't want to unnecessarily upset her if he doesn't have to so he says he's going to find out what's going on first. Bea continues to encourage Ned to tell Piper and he finally says he will after work.
Piper is on the phone to Imogen as she walks towards the Book Exchange. She bumps into Elissa who places ‘Wuthering Heights' in the exchange and Piper asks if she enjoyed it.
ELISSA: It was wonderful. Very sad of course.
PIPER: I don't recognize you. I'm kind of a regular around here. I kinda haunt the place.
ELISSA: Maybe you could help me choose my next book.
PIPER: I would love to. I'm Piper by the way.
ELISSA: (looks shocked) Lovely to meet you.
Leo asks Mishti how the ‘husband hunt' is going. She looks annoyed to be asked about it and tells him not to patronize her by pretending to support the idea. He admits that he doesn't think she needs to go online to meet someone.
He sits down next to her and they discuss her progress so far, or rather lack of progress. She says she thinks that compatibility is the most important thing to which Leo responds that surely chemistry is an important factor. She says that lust clouds judgment when looking for a partner and she'd like to find someone with the right qualities first, allowing everything else to build from there.
Leo points out a flaw in her plan – if physical attraction isn't an initial requirement, seeing the guys' profiles pictures online could be clouding her judgment. Appreciating the input, Mishti disables profiles pictures.
Piper and Elissa are having an in- depth discussion about reading. Cassius notices from afar, looking shocked and angry. He soon intercepts, asking Piper to come for a coffee with him. She wonders if Sonya would be ok with that but he insists that she won't mind if he has a short break.
Elissa and Cassius look at each other in disbelief as he and Piper walk away.
The Flametree Retreat
A few customers exit as Toadie enters. Gary asks him if he knows when the insurance money will come through and Toadie says that no news is usually good news.
GARY: I was hoping you might be able to speed up the process.
TOADIE: I wish I could but there's a fair bit involved.
GARY: I thought you said it was a straight- forward claim.
TOADIE: Yeah on our end, but on the insurers end there's a lot of damages that they have to assess.
Toadie says that if he could afford it he'd lend Gary some money himself. Toadie exits and Gary looks concerned.
Leo and Mishti look at profiles on the website for arranged marriages. Mishti comes across someone she likes the sound of and Leo encourages her to message him. Dipi appears, asking what's going on. Mishti says that with Leo's help she might have found a decent match. Dipi looks disapproving before Mishti goes for a walk to think about what to say in her private message to the guy.
Dipi lays into Leo for not following through with their plan and he admits that talking to Mishti has allowed him to see things from a different perspective. Could Mishti's approach really be such a bad thing? Dipi remains unhappy about it.
The Flametree Retreat
Gary phones Steph to ask for an advance. She denies Gary's request. As he hangs up he looks at the drawers behind reception containing Jeremy's money. Before long he takes the bag out, removes a wad of cash and slips it into his trousers.
Xanthe is playing her euphonium again. Sheila approaches with some hot drinks as Gary enters.
GARY: Good news, we're in the clear.
SHEILA: What, you knocked off the bills?
Sheila is surprised by how quick things were sorted.
GARY: I took some money from the retreat coffers.
SHEILA: That was good of Steph to allow you to do that.
GARY: Well she knows it'll go straight back when the insurance money comes through.
Xanthe is pleased that she doesn't have to cancel her private sessions, admitting that she didn't really want to after all. Sheila grabs the euphonium to put back in the shed.
GARY AND XANTHE: (laughing) Graaaan!
Shane and Dipi are talking about Mishti's love life again. He can't quite believe that after he told her to leave things she tried to recruit Leo to help her. Mishti laughs in the distance while looking at her laptop. Dipi asks Shane to go and see what's happening but he refuses. Dipi pleads with him until he finally retreats.
SHANE: Hey. What's tickled you then?
MISHTI: I'm chatting to this dentist. He just made a hilarious joke about a root canal.
SHANE: Well if you had one, you'd know there's nothing funny about them.
SHANE: What's his name?
SHANE: Bet he's got nice teeth.
MISHTI: I assume so.
SHANE: He's not grinning his head off in his profile picture?
MISHTI: Oh, I haven't seen him. I disabled the profile pics so I'm not swayed by looks.
SHANE: But what if he's got a face like a smashed crab?
MISHTI: Personality counts for a lot.
Shane continues to seem concerned but Mishti says her approach is much better than being shallow.
Shane walks back over to Dipi and tells her that Mishti is talking to someone whose photos she hasn't seen. Dipi is shocked that Mishti is willing to sacrifice physical attraction and insists on talking to her again to make her realize that she doesn't need to settle. This time Shane doesn't let her, explaining that while he's worried too, they've intervened too much and need to let her take her own path.
Cassius has a go at his mother for interacting with Piper but she explains that they'd already started talking before she realized who she was. Cassius says it's lucky she hadn't seen the photo Aaron had of Elissa as she might have recognized her. Elissa apologises again but says she needed to get some air rather than being stuck in the hotel room all the time.
ELISSA: Now that I've met Piper I can see why you've fallen in love with her and why you're willing to take such risks.
Cassius and Elissa head back to Lassiters, agreeing to go in by the back entrance so no- one sees them.
Leo tells Ned about the awkward moment he had with Terese in the sauna. He asks him if she'd mentioned anything to him but he says the only thing she said was how awkward Leo's feelings are.
Ned sees Cassius and Elissa walk by in the distance and he asks Leo if they can catch up later.
Lassiters Car Park
A blacked out car pulls up just as Xanthe kneels down to tie her shoelaces. She freezes, before rushing towards the complex.
Xanthe walks in and asks Piper why she's not been answering her phone. She admits that the thinks someone might have been following her. Piper agrees to give her a lift to her physio appointment after Toadie lets her take her break early.
Lassiters Hotel Room
Cassius and Elissa enter her hotel room and he asks her why she hasn't put the ‘do not disturb' sign on the door. Clearly very paranoid, he tells her he'll get her food if she needs any and that they need to be extra careful as Aaron could have shown her photo to anyone. As he exits, Ned appears.
NED: I think you owe me some answers.
Cassius looks caught out.
