Toadie has finally surfaced after a night of passion with Sonya. Steph laughs at him.
There's a knock at the door Toadie opens it. He flashes back to when he first opened the door to Sonya, back when she was training Guide Dogs. Back in real life, Sonya is dressed up as a Guide Dog puppy trainer and they role-play this for a while(!) They kiss. Steph laughs and tells them that she'll pick up Nell and take her out for the day. Toadie and Sonya are still kissing.
Pub
Terese and Piper come in. Tyler glowers at Piper and doesn't wish her a happy birthday. Piper comes over and tells him she should have told him about running in to T-Bone. Tyler immediately relents and apologises for getting angry with her. Hamish is not pleased to hear them making up(!) Piper heads home to study. Just then, T-Bone texts Piper. She tells Tyler she'll tell him to back off.
When Tyler has gone out the back, Hamish tells Piper that she should meet T-Bone in person and tell him that nothing can happen between them. Piper isn't keen, but Hamish insists that it's the only way.
Harold's Cafe
Toadie and Sonya are now flashing back to 2009 when the Coffee Shop was almost sold to Apollo. Sonya says that he was such a hero.
TOADIE: So, where to next on our little "Greatest Hits" tour?
SONYA: Oh...OK...the love locks at the lake!
Toadie looks a bit worried at this, because, of course, he's cut their lock off!
TOADIE: Um...there's no rush, is there. Why don't we have something to eat.
Pub
Hamish has texted T-Bone to tell him that Piper is on her way to see him. Tyler invites Hamish to play pool, but he says he has to go to the Backpackers and meet a bloke about buying a satellite phone. He invites Tyler to come with him.
Harold's Cafe Toilet
Gary bumps into Terese and they have an awkward conversation. On the way out through the shop, Toadie grabs Gary.
TOADIE: Gary. Don't talk, just listen. Sonya and I had a love lock down at the lake, right? And last week when I thought that she didn't want to get back together with me, I cut it off and threw it in the lake. But now she wants to go down there but I can't let her go down there until I find a way of getting it back out of the lake.
GARY:(confused) Not sure that there's much I can do...
TOADIE: Just...just keep her busy until I find a way of retrieving it.
GARY: How do you reckon I do that?
TOADIE: I don't know. But you will think of something, OK? Just don't let her go near the lake! Yeah? Thanks, good!
At the counter, David is talking to Sonya about the forthcoming liveability committee meeting. He's trying to think of a town motto for the last round.
Toadie and Gary come over and suggests that David takes Sonya along to his meeting! David is pleased, but Sonya protests that she's spending the afternoon with Toadie. Toadie tells her it's fine(!) David says it'll only take half an hour. When they've gone, Toadie tells Gary that he needs waders, gloves and a scoop. Gary tells him to get them from his shed.
Hospital
David, Karl, Gary and Sonya are discussing a town motto (for some reason, standing outside the hospital!) Karl suggests "Erinsborough, Green and Clean" but Sonya thinks it sound like a detergent commercial(!) Then he suggests "You'll Never Want To Leave" but they don't like this either.
Just then, Abby Coleman arrives and Karl fawns all over her. Sonya and David roll their eyes. As Karl continues to fawn, Sonya tries to get away, but Gary and David beg her to stay. She reluctantly agrees.
Backpackers
Hamish and Tyler are talking about Mark while they wait for the non-existent satellite phone salesman. Just then, Piper walks past with some flowers. Tyler sees this and goes to follow her, but Hamish holds him back. He is a master manipulator and puts seeds of doubt into Tyler's mind.
Lassiter's Lake
Toadie, replete with waders and a large net, is trying to find his and Sonya's love lock. So far he has only fished out rubbish and sludge, much to the disgust of passersby!
School
Susan and Elly are showing Abby Coleman and the rest of the liveability committee around the school. Sonya tries to head off again, but Gary begs her to stay.
David starts to lead them off to see the community book exchange by the lake. Gary tries to stop them, but they ignore him.
Lassiter's
Piper puts her flowers from T-Bone in the bin. Apparently T-Bone was pretty insistent. Terese advises her to be upfront with Tyler about the whole thing.
No.22
Piper is studying when Tyler comes to find her. She tells him about going to see T-Bone and that it was Hamish's idea. She told him never to text her again but doesn't mention the flowers to Tyler.
Lassiter's Lake
David is walking along with Abby Coleman and the rest of the liveability committee when they come across Toadie and his net. Some of the sludge gets on Abby Coleman's shoes.
ABBY COLEMAN: And who's this?
SONYA:(shocked) It's my husband.
TOADIE: Hi! Um...yeah, so as a local resident and rate payer, I just like to make sure that the lake is environmentally friendly(!)
David leads them off to the book exchange.
When they've gone, Sonya looks at Toadie.
SONYA: OK. What is really going on here, Jarrod?
TOADIE: I was looking for our love lock. When you didn't turn up the other day, I cut it off and I threw it in the lake. And I've been trying to find it. And Gary was meant to keep you busy until I did find it. But I can't find it.
SONYA: Oh, you're just...you're adorable, Jarrod.
TOADIE: I'm sorry?
SONYA: No, don't be. Don't be. Because you know what, I bought a new one. And that's why I wanted to come to the lake, cos I wanted to put it on the bridge as a symbol of a new phase of our relationship...come here. Come here!
She leans over.
SONYA: Don't touch me with your hand, just give me a kiss.
They kiss.
SONYA: Aw. That's very sweet.
Toadie is relieved that everything has ended so well!
Pub
A woman comes in and smiles at Gary, who is sitting at the bar. This turns out to be Elly's friend who is visiting from Sydney.
At a table, Tyler tells Hamish that Piper told him he suggested she went to see T-Bone in person. Hamish says Piper must have misinterpreted what he said! He continues to poison Tyler, who says he's going for a run. When he's gone, Hamish looks at his iPad. T-Bone has sent him a load of screenshots of fake texts between him and Piper. Hamish calls T-Bone and tells him to make a couple of months' worth so it looks like he and Piper has been communicating since he left the first time.
Lassiter's Lake
Toadie and Sonya are putting their new lock on the chain at the lake. It's engraved with "JR & SR". They kiss.
Lassiter's (Night)
Shane joins Karl, Susan, David and Steph. Karl is convinced that he's got Abby Coleman wrapped around his little finger! Susan isn't pleased to hear that he mentioned his "Big Durian" and they all laugh. Just then, Abby Coleman arrives to ask for Erinsborough Motto. They still don't have one but suddenly Susan is inspired.
SUSAN: What about..."The Perfect Blend"?
DAVID: I like it.
They all murmur appreciatively.
DAVID: OK, we'll go with that.
Apparently the results are going to come out tomorrow. When they've gone, everyone sighs with relief.
STEPH: The Perfect Blend...that's catchy!
SHANE: Yeah, how'd you come up with it?
SUSAN: I don't know! It just came to me!
SHANE: Brilliant. Amazing. So good.
Only Karl looks put out(!)
Pub
Toadie thanks Gary for helping him out earlier and offers to join him for a beer. Gary tells him it's fine, he should get home to his wife.
At a table, Elly and her friend Caro are talking about their exes. Caro wants to go out clubbing, but Elly says it's a school night and heads home instead.
When she's gone, she approaches Gary and buys him a drink. She tells him he looks like he needs some cheering up.
